I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 364: Seven Kings Council
Divine Dream World, international waters, Mojia Island.
Mojia Island was a deserted isle in the international waters near the Blood Moon Empire. Desolate and overgrown with vegetation, it remained a completely pristine, undeveloped landscape.
However, after the Undead King selected it as the venue for the Seven Kings Council, Mojia Island underwent an earth-shattering transformation in just a few short days.
Excess trees were felled and weeds trimmed away. The freshly cleared, spacious pathways were carpeted with luxurious dark red rugs.
At the very center of the island, a massive clearing had been plowed out to construct a temporary palace.
While it couldn't compare to ancient palaces carved by the passage of time, the combined efforts of countless Blood Clan members and a massive pile of resources had imbued the structure with its own unique, majestic solemnity.
Seven massive ships were anchored beside the island, each emblazoned with the emblem of one of the Seven Kings.
The island was now crowded with people divided into seven distinct camps. Those in each faction wore their empire's uniform and bore its insignia.
The terrifying aura exuded by countless Gold powerhouses forced the ocean to settle into complete stillness for a hundred li in every direction.
Within the palace itself awaited seven even more terrifying existences—the seven Gold Kings, the reigning powers of the modern world! The absolute peak of humanity's combat strength had converged here, all gathered for a single reason... the Seven Deadly Sins!
An organization that had burst out of nowhere, the Seven Deadly Sins had gone from assassinating nobles to slaughtering Gold powerhouses, ultimately destroying the Blood Moon Imperial Palace. Their crimes were too numerous to record!
Today, even the mighty Seven Kings could no longer ignore the Seven Deadly Sins, going so far as to convene the Seven Kings Council expressly to deal with them.
A massive circular conference table sat in the center of the palace hall. At present, six figures sat around it.
King Chi, Shangguan Mingyue, was among them.
King Chi was dressed far more formally today. She sat upright, her tall figure draped in a magnificent dark gold robe. The lifelike phoenix patterns embroidered upon it sparkled brilliantly in the sunlight.
Beside her sat the Saint King, the Heavenly King, the King of Red Lotus, the Undead King, and the Nether King.
Six kings had gathered, leaving only the Longyuan Empire's Dragon King absent.
Right then, the palace doors slowly opened. A short young boy strolled inside. He wore a golden imperial robe, and his tender face carried a majesty that didn't match his age. His brows and eyes bore some resemblance to Longyuan.
The difference was that, compared to Longyuan's dead-fish eyes, this boy possessed a pair of icy, dark gold slitted pupils. They looked like the eyes of a cold-blooded animal, making anyone who met his gaze shudder with fear.
This arrival was the ruler of the Longyuan Empire, the Dragon King!
The Dragon King stood with his hands clasped behind his back, followed by several tall Gold powerhouses exuding terrifying auras. Surrounded by his entourage, he approached the round table, his icy, detached golden pupils slowly sweeping over the other kings.
"I have kept you all waiting," he said. Though his words expressed a mild apology, his tone and demeanor conveyed the exact opposite. Not only did he lack a shred of remorse, but he also gave off the distinct impression that waiting for him was a privilege.
"Hmph," King Chi snorted coldly. How could she tolerate such arrogance?
"You have indeed kept us waiting for a long time."
The Dragon King cast a cold glance at her and said indifferently, "You should learn to get used to the privileges of the strong."
The moment he said this, the expressions of everyone present turned frosty. Only the Saint King, the oldest among them who appeared to be in his fifties, maintained a smiling face. "We haven't seen each other in a long time. Let's not get so heated right off the bat. After all, we convened this meeting to deal with a common enemy."
"Enemy?" the Dragon King sneered coldly, walking toward his seat. A Gold powerhouse behind him immediately pulled a chair out for him.
"A mere rat hiding in the shadows isn't qualified to be my enemy. Only frauds who have deceived the world to gain their reputations would treat such an opponent as a threat."
That single sentence directly infuriated King Chi and the Undead King. Out of everyone present, they were the only two who had been run ragged by the Seven Deadly Sins.
King Chi's explosive temper flared, but before she could speak, the Undead King said expressionlessly, "Dragon King, save the cynical remarks. If you truly didn't view Pride as an enemy, you wouldn't have come to participate in the Seven Kings Council today."
The Dragon King briefly raised his eyes, sweeping an indifferent glance over him. "I was just curious about what kind of madman would dare call himself the God of the new era."
"Hmph!" the Undead King snorted coldly. "You'll understand once Pride opens a Two Worlds Passage in your Longyuan Empire and summons the nightmares to descend."
"So what if nightmares come? As the strongest nation in the world today, the Longyuan Empire doesn't fear mere nightmare monsters. However many come, I will kill them all!"
The Dragon King truly lived up to his boyish appearance. From the moment he walked in, he hadn't done anything but mock everyone equally. His vile personality was inherited straight from Longyuan.
"Since the Dragon King is so confident, what is the point of convening this Seven Kings Council?" The Heavenly King, dressed in a purple imperial robe and wearing the Sun and Moon Crown, smiled faintly. "It would be enough to let the Dragon King deal with Pride all by himself."
As the ruler of the Firmament Empire, which ranked second in overall strength, the Heavenly King had never gotten along with the Dragon King.
Unlike the Dragon King's tender appearance, the Heavenly King was a highly charismatic adult male. His silver hair was meticulously combed, and his slender yet upright figure stood out. His skin, in particular, was as white as winter snow.
The Dragon King stared coldly at the Heavenly King. "I will naturally handle Pride. But what are you, to dare point fingers at me?"
Seeing the mood sour, the Saint King hurriedly stepped in to play the peacemaker. "Everyone, calm down. The Dragon King possesses dragon blood, so it's unavoidable for his personality to be influenced by the dragon race. He didn't really mean it that way."
"Saint King, wipe away that hypocritical smile. You probably want them to fight more than anyone else here," the Nether King, whose face was completely hidden beneath a black robe, said in a sudden, raspy voice.
"It seems you have a deep misunderstanding of me, Nether King."
"A misunderstanding? Not long ago, you blatantly violated the border treaty and launched a sneak attack on the Dark Night Empire's borders. Is that a misunderstanding too?"
The Saint King's smile vanished as his eyes narrowed. "That was not a sneak attack. A noble from my country went missing near your border, so I simply sent people to look for them."
Boom!
An aura of death potent enough to silence all life erupted from the Nether King's body. He stood up slowly, two clusters of green ghost-fire eyes surfacing from beneath his black hood.
"I now suspect that a dog raised by the Dark Night Empire has gone missing in your Holy Empire's Imperial Palace. I plan to send people to search your Imperial Palace, and I hope you will grant them passage."
The Saint King stood up with a smile. His immaculate white robe fluttered without any wind, and a mighty, sacred aura slowly radiated outward, clashing head-on with the Nether King.
On the other side, the Dragon King and the Heavenly King were in a similar state. Hundreds of small-scale conflicts had erupted between their two nations; it was no exaggeration to call them bitter enemies.
Seeing that a fight was about to break out, King Chi and the Undead King—despite their own past grievances—actually stepped in to break it up. Only the two of them had suffered deeply at the hands of the Seven Deadly Sins, making them the only ones genuinely focused on dealing with the threat.
