I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 350: Sacrificing Supreme Heaven
Su Mu defeated the enemy in a single move, killing the Nightmare Creature in the mirror before it even had a chance to crawl out.
Without the source of the Nightmare, this Dream Space began to shatter and fall apart.
The people living inside also shattered like a mirror, their fragments scattering across the ground. They hadn't been real humans to begin with, just reflections in the glass, and so they dissipated along with it.
Su Mu waited quietly, wanting to see if he could return to the Real World like before. But...
He failed again.
A piercing blood-red filled his vision. The sky and the earth looked as though they had been soaked in endless fresh blood; aside from that crimson hue, there were no other colors in this world.
Su Mu stood on the blood-red earth as twisted, terrifying nightmare monsters passed by him, all walking in the same direction.
He ignored them and fell into thought.
All his paths were blocked, and Supreme Heaven was unusable. Was he really unable to ever leave the Abyss? Just like the evil gods sealed here?
No, that wasn't right.Since the Pope had dared to take his place, he definitely knew that Supreme Heaven would be rendered unusable afterward. If he wanted to return to Holy Brilliance City, he absolutely had to have a way out.
Su Mu began searching through the Pope's memories. A short while later, he finally found it.
However, a helpless smile crept onto his lips.
He never imagined the Pope's method for leaving would be so unexpected.
It was... sacrificing Supreme Heaven!
The Pope's plan was that after successfully taking Su Mu's place, he would use the Primal Divinity within his body to cast Primal Divine Magic, sacrifice Supreme Heaven to the Primal Angel, and then rely on the Primal Angel's power to leave the Abyss.
Unbelievable!
Anyone else would treat Supreme Heaven like a precious treasure; only the Pope treated it as a single-use consumable.
Perhaps in his eyes, no matter how precious a treasure was, it could never compare to his faith in the Primal Angel.
Su Mu was a bit speechless. Was this how fanatics thought? If Supreme Heaven had a consciousness, it probably never would have imagined it would end up being sacrificed one day.
Su Mu immediately vetoed this plan. First, he would never sacrifice Supreme Heaven. Second, he couldn't even contact the Primal Angel.
He wasn't a believer of the Primal Angel at all; he had stolen its Primal Divinity. Contacting the Primal Angel was no different from suicide. Stealing someone's power and then asking them for help? Forget a God, not even a human would agree to that.
And most importantly, could the Primal Angel really fish someone out from the bottom of the Abyss? This was the absolute bottom, not the edge.
Rescuing a drowning person from the surface of the ocean was easy, but saving someone from ten thousand meters under the sea was on a completely different level of difficulty.
If it could, that would mean the Primal Angel was far more powerful than these evil gods.
Su Mu was highly skeptical about this.
He had his doubts, but the Pope hadn't. After all, in the Pope's heart, the Primal Angel was omnipotent.
"Forget it, let's satisfy my curiosity first." Su Mu wasn't someone who looked for things to worry about; since he couldn't figure it out, he put the thought aside for now.
He decided to follow those Nightmare Creatures and see where they were going. He was already curious about why they were all hurrying in the same direction.
Since he couldn't get out right now anyway, he might as well kill some time.
Then, Su Mu activated his Dream Space teleportation and vanished from the spot.
In an instant, he appeared thousands of miles away. The earth was still blood-red, and countless Nightmare Creatures were still marching forward.
He continuously teleported, wanting to see what was at the end of the line. But a day passed, and to his surprise, he still hadn't seen the end of the procession. Instead, the Nightmare Creatures he encountered only grew in number.
Another day passed. The procession of Nightmare Creatures seemed infinite, stretching all the way to the edge of the world.
The further Su Mu went, the more surprised he became. At his teleportation speed, two days was enough time to circle the Real World several times over.
Just how many Nightmare Creatures were here? A hundred million? A billion? Ten billion?!
It wasn't until the third day that he finally reached the end of the Abyss.
He saw a massive sheer drop that spanned the entire world. This cliff cut from south to north, with no visible beginning or end. Looking out over the precipice, there was only a pitch-black void, equally boundless.
The destination of those nightmare monsters was exactly this cliff. As if driven by some mysterious force, they walked step by step toward the precipice and then... jumped down.
Suicide?
Su Mu frowned slightly. He walked to the edge of the cliff and looked down. It was completely pitch-black below; he couldn't see the bottom at all, as if it were a second abyss.
"Just what is down there? Why is it drawing all the Nightmare Creatures to jump in?"
Having already experienced the Abyss once, Su Mu didn't just jump straight in this time. He had no desire to enter the abyss of the Abyss; if he did, getting out would be even more impossible.
Instead, he activated Severed Thoughts in Sealed Dust. His body rapidly shot into the air, soaring straight into the clouds like a rocket.
When he reached an altitude of ten thousand meters, he paused, staring intently at the cliff that spanned the world.
That wasn't a cliff at all. It was... an unimaginably colossal handprint!!
The sheer drop he had seen earlier was merely the edge of the pinky finger! Because it was so massive, far exceeding the limits of human sight, it had looked like a cliff.
Seeing this, an image formed in his mind: a supremely majestic entity striking a blow against the blood-red earth, a sky-blotting palm descending from the heavens to smash a bottomless handprint straight into the ground!
The only existence capable of unleashing such devastating power was a God.
What God had struck this blow, and why were those Nightmare Creatures throwing themselves into it one after another?
His curiosity growing, Su Mu descended back to the edge of the drop. Then, he picked out a weak humanoid creature from among the nearby Nightmare Creatures, one that was only at the Bronze tier.
This humanoid creature was a mangled mess of flesh and blood. Its eyes were entirely white with no pupils, and its mouth was wide open in a constant roar. It looked very much like a zombie from a movie.
It had probably been born because someone had a nightmare after watching a zombie flick.
He used his mental power to lift the zombie and tossed it over the drop. The zombie plummeted steadily. After it had fallen about a hundred meters, Su Mu yanked it back up.
He inspected the zombie closely, even pulling it into his Dream Space for a hands-on examination.
He lifted the zombie's arms and thighs, then pried its mouth open to look inside. After confirming that the zombie was indeed perfectly healthy, he tossed it out of the Dream Space.
"It seems like this place can be freely entered and exited."
So, Su Mu simply jumped right in.
He didn't plummet rapidly, choosing to descend slowly instead. Some of the flightless Nightmare Creatures whizzed past him like dumplings dropping into a boiling pot.
Many of the other Nightmare Creatures were a bit smarter, slowly crawling down the edge of the cliff.
After descending nearly a thousand meters, Su Mu still hadn't noticed anything unusual. He could even fly back up, meaning there was no risk of getting trapped.
He began to accelerate. Finally, when he had descended ten thousand meters, he saw light.
