I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World

Chapter 315: The Arrogant Lin Canyang

'It seems I can't summon the undead sirens on a whim. The power of a God is simply too great. Plus, it looks like I've caught the Sea God's eye this time. If I open the passage to the Sea Kingdom again, things will probably go wrong.'

Su Mu thought to himself, slowly rising from the Immortal Emperor's Throne.

He had never seen a true God. His past encounters had offered nothing more than brief, fragmented glimpses. Gods were beings of a higher dimension entirely, possessing power far beyond human imagination.

Flooding the Imperial Palace had drawn the Sea God's gaze, and he had nearly burned himself by playing with fire. If the Undead King had been even a fraction of a second slower to back down, Su Mu would have been the one to die first.

Fortunately, the Undead King knew when to yield, truly displaying the bearing of a King.

More importantly, the Undead King had no idea Su Mu was already running on fumes. In the end, the bluff had worked.

Su Mu took a step and exited the Dream World. The matter wasn't completely over yet; the fates of Taoist Priest Xuanqing and the others were still unknown.

...

...

Clang!

The chains binding Lin Canyang fell away. Reduced to a bloody mess, he collapsed to the floor like a puddle of mud. His unfocused eyes stared at the group of Blood Clan members standing before him.

'Am I going to die?'

'Damn it! I refuse to accept this! I haven't even become the First Seat yet. I haven't had the chance to enjoy life. I was only let out a month ago...'

He poured all his remaining strength into propping himself up, but his severe blood loss made it impossible. He looked like discarded trash.

Then, the leading Gold Blood Clan member spoke. "You can leave."

Lin Canyang froze, then sneered. "You think you can use me to track down the other members of the Seven Deadly Sins? Keep dreaming! Kill me if you're going to kill me. The Leader will avenge my death! Long live the Seven Deadly Sins!"

The Blood Clan members remained expressionless in the face of his fanaticism, though intense hatred churned in their eyes. They loathed him.

They hated the Seven Deadly Sins to their very bones! The Blood Moon Empire was one of the grand Seven Great Empires, and they were the most noble race in the world. Yet the Seven Deadly Sins had destroyed their Imperial Palace and slaughtered countless of their kin. And after all that, they were now being forced to personally release one of its members.

It was a suffocating humiliation the proud Blood Clan had never experienced in all their lives.

"Get out!" the Gold Blood Clan member snapped.

Confusion flickered in Lin Canyang's eyes. The atmosphere felt wrong. These Blood Clan members had just defeated him, so why did they look at him with such bitter hatred? It seemed they were genuinely letting him go. Could it be...

Suddenly, his face lit up with joy. The image of a black tuxedo flashed through his mind, topped with that cold, mysterious Silver-White Mask bearing its contemptuous smile.

'It's the Leader!'

'The Leader must have done something to terrify these Blood Clan members. Was he the one behind all that commotion and seawater just now?'

'Hahaha... Long live the Leader!'

'I knew it! I knew it! How could Leader Pride, the man who severely wounded King Chi, ever lose to the Undead King?!'

A fresh surge of strength welled up inside his broken body at the thought. That strength was pride! The pride of being a provisional member of the Seven Deadly Sins!

'I am Lin Canyang, Provisional Third Seat of the Seven Deadly Sins! Today I stormed the Blood Clan Law Enforcement Bureau and unleashed an absolute slaughter. Sure, I slipped up and got captured, but so what?'

'In the end, these arrogant Blood Clan bastards still have to obediently let me walk free!'

"Hahaha..." He threw his head back and laughed wildly as he dragged himself to his feet. His blood-blurred vision swept across the Blood Clan members. The corners of his mouth curled up into a grin, baring his bloodstained teeth. "You're afraid."

The Blood Clan members' expressions instantly darkened. Jaws clenched and fists tightened, but not a single one of them dared to talk back.

This only boosted Lin Canyang's confidence. He laughed even harder, thoroughly arrogant. "Remember this feeling! Because this is exactly how you should act when facing the Seven Deadly Sins!"

He let out another boisterous laugh, turned around, and dragged his broken body away like a triumphant general returning from war.

Behind him was a crowd of proud Blood Clan members who seethed with anger but didn't dare utter a word.

Then, barely two steps later, Lin Canyang stumbled and crashed to the floor. He grimaced in agony, completely unable to pull himself back up.

Humiliation flared into anger. He felt incredibly awkward. He had just finished acting tough and tried to make a cool exit, only to fall flat on his face the moment he turned around. It was humiliating.

Just as he was struggling to get back on his feet, a pale hand suddenly reached out to him.

He paused in surprise. A second later, that hand tipped a Healing Potion into his mouth.

Lin Canyang glanced over, only to realize the hand belonged to the very same Gold Blood Clan member who had beaten him to a pulp earlier.

'Hahaha... They're afraid I'll die in the Blood Moon Empire!'

The embarrassment of his ruined exit vanished instantly. Lin Canyang felt a profound sense of satisfaction wash over him. This feeling of being feared and dreaded was utterly intoxicating.

'This is how a real man should live!'

His injuries slightly healed, Lin Canyang set off with a brisk step and gradually vanished from the Blood Clan's sight.

He walked along, crossing paths with numerous Blood Clan elites who were busy cleaning up the mess. Yet the moment those elites saw the Silver-White Mask on his face, they hurried away as if avoiding the plague.

...

...

Drenched in blood, Dongfang Yuan had completely lost the ability to stand. If he hadn't been using his gravity manipulation to prop himself up, he would have collapsed long ago.

'Is this the end?' He began to reflect on his magnificent, turbulent life.

But just as his life began to flash before his eyes, the Gold Blood Clan members standing opposite him abruptly turned and walked away with dark expressions, as if they had just received an order.

"They... left?"

Even a man as knowledgeable and experienced as Dongfang Yuan was left utterly bewildered. What was going on?

"What are you plotting?!"

He suspected the Blood Clan members were plotting something, but one of the Gold Blood Clan members paused and said coldly, "Your leader, Pride, has struck a deal with my King. You are free to go."

Dongfang Yuan was speechless. "???"

He understood every single word the Blood Clan member had said, but strung together, they made absolutely no sense.

'Pride? What Pride? Did Her Majesty send someone else to impersonate Pride?'

'And a deal? What deal? What kind of deal would let us walk away alive after we slaughtered an entire city?'

Dongfang Yuan and his group were in You City, quite a distance from the Imperial Capital, so they had no idea what had just transpired there.

While Dongfang Yuan was lost in his confusion, no one noticed that Sikong Zhen—who had been lying unconscious in the ruins—suddenly vanished into thin air.

The Dream World.

Su Mu inspected the critically injured, dying Sikong Zhen. He poured a bottle of Divine Healing Potion down the man's throat, successfully stabilizing his life. Then, he drew Mirage—one of the Twelve Swords of Royal Power—and channeled his vast spiritual energy into the blade.

Instantly, the crystal-like blade radiated a dreamy, ethereal light.

Shing!

The crystal longsword plunged directly into Sikong Zhen's skull. Miraculously, it didn't leave a single wound.

After this was done, Sikong Zhen fell into a deep sleep and was tossed back out of the Dream World.

Su Mu didn't try to hypnotize Sikong Zhen into becoming a loyal subordinate. Even though this was the perfect opportunity, hypnosis wasn't omnipotent. The Chiyan Empire was full of capable figures, and finding a few Transcendents who could undo the hypnosis wouldn't be difficult.

As for Twisted Thoughts, his current strength wasn't enough to let him use Twisted Divinity to completely rewrite a Gold tier powerhouse's mind.

Instead, he simply planted a few subconscious suggestions in Sikong Zhen's mind. Just a few simple suggestions.
