Chapter 297: Long Live the Seven Deadly Sins

Thrilled, Lin Canyang downed the bottle of liquor in a single gulp, the crisp liquid spilling down his throat and soaking the front of his shirt.

He wiped his mouth with his sleeve and immediately set out. Leaving his rented room behind, he prepared to embark on his journey, brimming with excitement.

But when he stepped onto the bustling main street and saw the endless stream of pedestrians, he froze.

How was he supposed to get there?

The organization required him to reach the Blood Moon Empire within three days. But the Chiyan Imperial Capital was thousands of miles away. True, he was a Gold powerhouse, but his Gold Law, Giant Demon, made him a pure combat machine and a meat shield. Beyond that, it offered absolutely nothing in the way of mystical abilities.

He couldn't fly. He couldn't transform. He couldn't even begin to manipulate fire and lightning, let alone traverse space.

If he relied on his own two legs to walk to the Blood Moon Empire, the mission would be over long before he arrived.

"Looks like I'll have to take a plane."

At the thought of a plane, a blank look flashed across Lin Canyang's eyes. He didn't know how to catch a flight.

After his years of imprisonment, he was like a convict fresh out of a cell, entirely disconnected from society. He didn't even know where to buy a plane ticket.

But buying a ticket was a minor issue. The real problem was that he needed a fake ID!

For a moment, Lin Canyang was stumped. Lately, all he had done was hide from the authorities and gorge himself on food. He was completely in the dark about the Imperial Capital. He had no idea who to seek out for a forged ID, nor did he know if a fake ID would even work to buy a plane ticket.

Naturally, such a trivial matter couldn't actually stump a Gold powerhouse. But sorting it out required time, and time was exactly what he lacked most right now.

If all else fails, I'll just sneak into the airport and cling to the tail of a plane when it takes off.

Lin Canyang considered the idea silently. With his physical fortitude, he could easily pull it off.

Right as he was mulling this over, he noticed something tugging at his pant leg.

It was a stray dog.

"Shoo, shoo. I don't have any food."

He shook the stray dog off, but it quickly trotted back over, as relentless as before.

"Did I spill meat bun juice on myself?"

It was the only reason he could think of. Why else would the dog be pestering him so stubbornly?

Lin Canyang was growing impatient. But just then, the stray dog did something that left him utterly bewildered. It reached out a paw and traced lightly across the ground, writing out the character for "seven."

Seeing that character, his pupils shrank. An absurd thought popped into his head: Is this dog also a member of the Seven Deadly Sins!?

The stray dog then swiped its paw to erase the "seven" and darted off into the distance. Lin Canyang hurriedly followed. The dog finally stopped at the entrance to an alleyway.

It raised a paw and pointed into the alley, signaling for Lin Canyang to enter.

Growing increasingly astounded, Lin Canyang followed it into the alleyway.

The alley was dilapidated but packed to the brim. Various shops were crammed in side-by-side, wedged together like pieces of a tight puzzle.

The shop signs came in all shapes and sizes, but most of their paint was peeling. He could barely make out what each business sold from the lingering traces of color and blurred text.

He followed the stray dog all the way to the deepest part of the alley, stopping in front of an old, weathered shop. A faded sign hung above the door, displaying a line of blurry text.

Document Services.

Lin Canyang was stunned. Could the organization have prepared this for me?

He stepped into the shop. The owner inside was an unremarkable-looking middle-aged man.

The middle-aged man glanced up at him, then silently turned, walked over to a cabinet in the back, and pulled out a thick stack of documents.

Smack!

Without saying a word, he slapped the documents onto the counter, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Lin Canyang peered through the dust. To his shock, the documents prominently bore a photo of his new, disguised face. An ID card, a travel permit, a Blood Moon Empire passport...

His lingering doubts vanished. He knew the middle-aged man before him was a member of the organization.

"May I ask who you are..."

"Long live the Seven Deadly Sins!" The middle-aged man's gaze instantly sharpened, his low voice saturated with an unimaginable fanaticism. Those few words were like a steadfast creed he had upheld his entire life, delivered with ringing conviction.

Lin Canyang's expression turned solemn, and he unconsciously stood straighter. He picked up the documents, gave the middle-aged man a heavy nod, and replied in kind, "Long live... the Seven Deadly Sins!"

He left the shop and returned to the main street, a complex wave of emotion swelling inexplicably in his chest.

Once, he had thought the organization had forgotten him. Little did he know, they had been right beside him all along!

That stray dog had been operating in this area the whole time, and the forgery shop was barely a kilometer away from his rented room.

A sudden sense of belonging blossomed within him. It was the feeling that he was never truly alone. Even if he didn't know where his comrades were, they... were always there.

"Stop right there!" a cold voice rang out from behind him.

He frowned slightly and turned around without betraying any emotion. A law enforcer in a patrol car was pulling up slowly, his expression severe.

The patrol car stopped in front of Lin Canyang. The enforcer stepped out, his face utterly cold. "Routine check. Please show your ID, sir."

Lin Canyang silently handed over his documents. He trusted that the organization's fake ID wouldn't have any issues.

Yet, to his surprise, the enforcer's expression grew even more severe after inspecting the ID. "Sir, you need to come with me."

Lin Canyang was startled, but he kept his composure. The enforcer's presence had already drawn the attention of the surrounding pedestrians, and he couldn't possibly kill the man with so many eyes watching.

He wasn't afraid of causing a commotion, but he was afraid of the ensuing trouble delaying his mission to advance to the Chief Seat!

The Chief Seat! He was just one step away from becoming a formal member. Only by becoming a formal member could he truly enter the core of the Seven Deadly Sins and step into the sight of the Leader, the Gold King, Pride!

Thus, he silently followed the enforcer into the car.

The vehicle started and slowly pulled away from the crowd.

"Officer, is there a problem with my ID?" Lin Canyang asked expressionlessly. Out of the corner of his eye, he glanced out the window, planning to find a secluded spot to finish this enforcer off.

"There is no problem."

Lin Canyang frowned deeply. "Then why..."

"My orders are to escort you to the airport. There are too many prying eyes on the streets; taking a patrol car allows you to bypass inspections."

Lin Canyang was stunned. Escort me to the airport? At this point in time, the only ones who knew he was going to the airport were the Seven Deadly Sins. Could it be...

"Airport? What airport?" he asked, testing the waters.

The enforcer's voice remained as cold as ever. "The Imperial Capital International Airport. To put you on a flight to the Blood Moon Empire."

"Who ordered you to take me there?"

"There's no need to probe. The organization's power is far beyond your imagination, Provisional Third Seat."

Lin Canyang's pupils shrank violently, but a smile crept onto his lips. The sheer mystery and power displayed by the Seven Deadly Sins made him feel increasingly secure.

"Long live the Seven Deadly Sins!" he declared.

The enforcer kept driving with a cold expression, but the words that left his mouth were exceptionally fervent. "Everything for the Leader!"
