I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 287: You and Your God Are Equally Ridiculous
A writhing shadow crept silently up the wall of the massive city halfway up the mountain.
A moment later, nine distinct figures emerged from the shadow. Standing atop the ramparts, they looked down at the tens of thousands of Twisted Ones filling the city.
It was Su Mu and his team.
Their appearance immediately caught the attention of the guards on the wall. Without a word, these Twisted Ones lunged at Su Mu and his team.
They were fast, but Su Qing was faster. A streak of golden flame flashed out, incinerating the guards on the wall in the blink of an eye.
However, the startling flare also drew the attention of the Twisted Ones inside the city.
"Do it," Su Mu ordered, his expression completely calm as he watched the surging Twisted Ones.
The team nodded solemnly and scattered into position, each clutching several differently colored Totem Stones.
They hurled the stones into the crowd.
Boom! Boom! Boom!Gales, flames, frost, and lightning—countless torrents of raging energy erupted, detonating amidst the crowd.
Su Mu had not tried to conserve his Totem Stones; he had distributed all of them to his teammates, keeping only the last Gold Totem Stone for himself.
This terrifying blanket of firepower yielded immediate results, slaughtering massive numbers of charging Twisted Ones.
Their assault did not stop. Once the Totem Stones were spent, the team unleashed their own abilities, ruthlessly slaughtering the Twisted Ones.
Right then, space twisted slightly, and a powerful oppressive pressure descended over the entire battlefield.
The bishop and seven Temple Knights appeared out of thin air.
"Twisted Force Field!"
Hum!
Invisible twisted ripples spread wildly, directly enveloping the area.
Seeing the countless formless vortexes emerging in the air, the team realized their escape route had been completely sealed off.
"Twisted Light!" The bishop raised his Bone Scepter once more. Every source of illumination from every household in the city was instantly twisted and projected into the sky.
In an instant, the night was driven away, leaving the city as bright as day!
This move was meant to prevent Su Mu and his team from relying on Bubai to escape again.
The air was filled with rays of light. These rays were incredibly bizarre, not traveling in straight lines at all; instead, they slithered like winding snakes, illuminating even the blind spots blocked by buildings.
"Heretics, this time there is no escape!" the bishop's majestic voice boomed, making the team's hearts sink even further.
Su Mu leaned elegantly on his Cane, an unhurried smile on his face. He reached up and gently removed his Tinted Glasses, his profound eyes shimmering with crystalline blue light.
"You're mistaken. You are the ones who should flee."
Snap!
He snapped his fingers lightly. A sudden riot erupted among the surging Twisted Ones, with some turning their butcher knives directly on their own kin.
The ten thousand Twisted Ones he had hypnotized were now making their move.
The scene dissolved into extreme chaos.
In response, the bishop seemed utterly indifferent. "Heretics, everything you do is under the gaze of the great Twisted God. Did you truly believe I was unaware?
Twisted Thoughts!"
He gently waved the Bone Scepter. A formless twisting power rippled through the air, vibrating outward in layered waves.
In a mere instant, the Twisted Ones hypnotized by Su Mu ceased their frenzy and reverted to normal.
Wen Xuan and the others turned pale. They had not expected the bishop to break their captain's Illusion Technique so effortlessly.
Su Mu remained unruffled, as if he could maintain his calm and rationality no matter the situation. A brilliant galaxy seemed to flow within his crystalline blue eyes.
He had anticipated this. His hypnosis was fundamentally twisting thoughts, swapping the enemy in the minds of these Twisted Ones with their own kind, and replacing their master with himself.
If he could do it, then the bishop, an expert in twisting power, could naturally do the same.
But this was exactly what he wanted.
"Heretics, abandon your resistance. Under the gaze of the great Twisted God, we are invincible!" the bishop's voice boomed, swelling with irresistible majesty.
Suddenly, the corners of Su Mu's lips curled up, carrying a trace of arrogance in his smile. "You and your God are equally ridiculous," he said dismissively.
Snap!
He snapped his fingers again. Hypnosis... released!
Chaos erupted in the crowd once more as the ten thousand Twisted Ones frantically attacked their surrounding kin.
"What!?" the bishop exclaimed in shock and fury. First, his God had been mocked; second, the Twisted Ones had actually slipped out of control again.
He quickly understood, however. The heretic before him had twisted the believers' thoughts to make them see their kin as enemies, which he himself had twisted back. But the moment the heretic released his ability, it meant the bishop had personally twisted the believers' normally correct thoughts.
Just as he prepared to twist the believers' thoughts back again, it was too late.
This split second of distraction was exactly what Su Mu wanted!
Just as the bishop raised his Bone Scepter, a sharp whistle tore through the air right beside his ear.
Dazzling golden flames painted the wall a brilliant gold!
Bathed in fire, Su Qing had already closed in on the bishop. Her eyes glowed gold, her expression utterly apathetic, making her look like a deity.
The bishop's expression shifted slightly. He actually felt an intense threat from this Silver Grade girl!
Abandoning any thought of setting his followers right, he swung his Bone Scepter repeatedly. A massive, formless twisting force swept toward Su Qing to envelop her.
Su Qing's gaze blazed. Exploding with terrifying power, she forcefully pushed through the twisting force to attack. Even as her overwhelmed bones began to loudly crack under the pressure, she refused to stop.
But Gold was Gold. A Gold powerhouse overwhelmingly crushed any opponent below that tier, even if Su Qing was an avatar of King Chi.
With a furious roar, the bishop slammed his Bone Scepter directly into Su Qing's flame-wreathed fist.
Bang!
The golden fire detonated upon impact, turning into a rain of light. Su Qing's petite body took a heavy blow, launching her backward. Her slender, pale arm twisted into a grotesque spiral, exposing jagged white bone as blood flowed freely.
What the bishop did not know was that Su Qing was only a feint. The true killing blow was right behind her.
Swish!
The sharp sound of a weapon tearing through the air came from right behind the bishop.
Catching a glimpse from the corner of his eye, he saw it: a speeding Mithril Arrow!
He sneered inwardly, dismissing the Mithril Arrow entirely. But a second later, alarm bells shrieked in his mind as he suddenly felt an intense sense of threat.
This was... a Gold Totem Stone!!
The bishop clearly saw the Gold Totem Stone tied to the Mithril Arrow. It radiated a terrifying pressure akin to the wrath of heaven, with silver snake-like lightning flowing through it.
He quickly abandoned setting his followers right and directly twisted space to dodge.
But locked on by Absolute Hit, he could not escape at all.
The Mithril Arrow pierced right into the spatial distortion, vanishing at the exact same moment as the bishop.
