I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 244: Dream Fulfillment Club
Nangong Mengli worked with remarkable efficiency; that very night, the Dream Fulfillment Club officially opened for business.
It had formerly been a high-end establishment owned by the Murong Family, exclusively serving the wealthy.
As night fell and neon lights flickered to life, waves of glamorous socialites and upper-class elites arrived at the Dream Fulfillment Club.
"The Dream Fulfillment Club? Why the name change?" a bald man in a tailored suit asked in confusion.
"Honored guest, we recently introduced our dream fulfillment service, so the name was changed to match," the attendant at the door explained politely.
"What is a dream fulfillment service?" the bald man asked, his interest clearly piqued.
"We help our guests fulfill their dreams. Here, you can meet absolutely anyone you wish to see."
"Anyone we want to see?!" his companions exclaimed, some of their eyes flashing with obvious skepticism.
"How is that possible? What if the person I want to see is already dead?"
The attendant's polite smile never wavered. "You can see them as well. If you have your doubts, sir, you need only step inside and try it for yourself. Oh, I should mention—the fee for the dream fulfillment service is one million per hour. While steep, it is absolutely worth the price. Of course, such a trifling sum is nothing to esteemed guests like yourselves. Forgive me for speaking out of turn."The price of one million an hour only deepened the group's interest.
"If this doesn't actually fulfill my dream, don't blame me when I refuse to pay."
"Rest assured, sir. If you are not satisfied with the service, we won't charge a single cent."
Ultimately, the guests entered the Dream Fulfillment Club and were each escorted to a different room.
The bald man scrutinized the room's furnishings, noting they hadn't changed at all since his last visit. After a brief wait, a male attendant entered the room.
"Where are they? Didn't you say I'd get to see whoever I wanted to see?" he asked, clearly displeased.
"Please lie down on the bed and wait patiently, sir. You will absolutely see them within five minutes." The attendant lit the incense in the room. As curling wisps of smoke rose into the air, the bald man's irritable mood slowly calmed.
Lying on the bed, he felt his eyelids grow heavier and heavier, until he unwittingly drifted off to sleep.
When he opened his eyes again, he felt as if he had been struck by lightning, freezing in place.
Standing right in front of him was a beautiful woman dressed in an exceptionally revealing outfit.
"You... Wenwen, why are you here? Shouldn't you be at home with your husband right now?"
Wenwen gave a coquettish laugh and slipped into the bald man's embrace. Pressing a slender, pale finger against his lips, she breathed warmly against him and murmured, "Don't speak. Kiss me."
An hour later, the bald man lay on the bed with a lingering sense of loss. He felt as though he had just had a dream—a beautiful dream he had once yearned for but could never reach.
Wenwen had been the goddess he had secretly loved throughout his school days. He had worked desperately to make money just to become worthy of her. But when he finally succeeded, he discovered that she had already married a noble. His heart had turned to ash; he knew that no matter how much wealth he amassed, he could never compete with a noble.
Yet just now, he had engaged in an hour of intimate communication with her. His former goddess, now a noble's wife—under this dual thrill, he felt as though his life had reached its peak!
Knock, knock, knock...
A knock rang out at the door.
"Honored guest, your time is up. Would you like to extend your session?"
The bald man snapped back to reality and hastily shouted, "Extend it! Extend it!"
Similar scenes played out across the various rooms. Aside from a few guests with shallower pockets, nearly everyone who experienced the service chose to extend their time.
This was an experience money couldn't buy. A dream—one that felt incredibly real, yet detached from reality. Here, you could fulfill any dream and do anything you desired; no one could resist this feeling.
Inside the boss's office of the Dream Fulfillment Club, Su Mu pushed up his Tinted Glasses, hiding the crystalline blue light in his eyes. The corners of his mouth curled into a silent smile.
His purpose for doing this naturally wasn't to make money. He wasn't lacking in funds now, and if he needed money, he could directly ask Nangong Mengli. She controlled the entire Murong Family and possessed tremendous financial resources.
His true purpose was to train his abilities.
Myriad Phenomena and Endless Demonic Sound had already been fully digested. Only Startled Soul Fall remained. Once Startled Soul Fall was also digested, the three Dream Laws would successfully fuse, allowing him to advance to Silver!
Since he needed to train his abilities anyway, he figured he might as well make some money in passing. Killing two birds with one stone.
Overnight, the Dream Fulfillment Club became an absolute sensation, exploding in popularity across Star City's upper-class circles. While Nangong Mengli had certainly fanned the flames behind the scenes, the main reason was that the Dream Fulfillment Club truly fulfilled dreams.
More and more people lined up for a chance to dream, and through this constant usage, Su Mu's abilities grew at a rapid pace.
Three days later.
Nangong Mengli received a piece of news and hurriedly notified Su Mu.
"The Royal Family has issued a notice to all major Transcendent Tier Companies across the nation to recruit Silver Grade Nightmare Apostles nationwide. They want to explore the Nightmare World. Anyone who makes a major discovery can be granted a noble title, with permanent inheritance!
"Moreover, the scope of this recruitment is very broad. Even nightmare apostles who have committed crimes can participate, and those who make contributions will receive a full pardon."
Su Mu smiled faintly. It was finally here—the Dragon Seeking Plan.
"Susu, what do you think the Royal Family is planning to do?"
Faced with Nangong Mengli's question, he didn't explain. In this transcendent world, even secrets hidden in the heart could be discovered—such as through Specter's mind-reading.
He could keep his mind as still as water, but that didn't mean Nangong Mengli could. Some things were safest left unknown.
"Perhaps the Royal Family feels that things have been unpeaceful lately and wants to use the Nightmare World to increase their strength. After all, the earliest transcendents originated from the Nightmare World; the Nightmare World is the birthplace of the transcendent."
"Hmm, perhaps. Are you going to participate?"
"Of course. How could I not participate in something so interesting as meeting Silver Grade Nightmare Apostles from all over the country?"
Nangong Mengli suddenly laughed. "Is the dignified Lord Pride, Head of the Seven Deadly Sins, going to play this kind of children's game of house too?"
Su Mu smiled but didn't speak. He, the Head of the Seven Deadly Sins, wasn't even at Silver yet. In terms of realm alone, he could be said to be the weakest person in the organization.
If he wanted to participate in this event, he had to quickly find a way to advance to Silver.
Fortunately, his digestion of Startled Soul Fall was almost complete. Over on Duanmu Qing's side, there was also progress on the mithril activation and the Follower of Strength potion.
His advancement to Silver was just around the corner!
