I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 211: I Have to Go, Yang Dongqing
"Jasmine! What's wrong!? What is happening?" Yang Dongqing panicked like a child, completely stripped of a Transcendent's calm. He tried to grab Jasmine's hand, only to grasp at thin air.
Jasmine's hand... had disappeared.
All four of her limbs had turned transparent and completely vanished. Her remaining torso and head were rapidly fading away.
"Jasmine!"
Jasmine opened her mouth to reply, but no sound came out. She seemed to understand something. Her slightly panicked expression shifted into one of relief.
I have to go... Yang Dongqing.
Jasmine's bloodless lips moved. Though there was no sound, Yang Dongqing understood.
"No, no, no... don't go, Jasmine! Don't scare me!" Yang Dongqing panicked. He had no idea what was happening. He only felt that Jasmine was disappearing from the world.
He frantically tried to grab her, attempting to hold onto his lover with this foolish method. Yet it was all in vain. His hands couldn't touch Jasmine at all; they passed straight through her semi-transparent body.
When he was young, he had watched the blue smoke rise from firecrackers during festivals and tried to catch it in his hands. But his desperate grasping only made the smoke scatter faster. The same was true now.
When faced with things destined to leave your life, holding on only hastened their departure.
Jasmine faded even faster. Gradually, only her semi-transparent head remained. Teardrops slid down her cheeks, vanishing before they even fell.
In the final moments of her life, Jasmine used all her strength to smile. She looked at Yang Dongqing with endless affection and mouthed the words, "Forget me, Yang Dongqing."
With that, Jasmine completely dissipated.
"Jasmine!!!"
Yang Dongqing's eyes turned bloodshot. He tore through the room like a madman, trying to find the vanished Jasmine, but he found nothing at all.
He didn't understand why Jasmine had disappeared, nor did he want to. He only wanted her back!
Jasmine was like a ray of light in his bleak life, letting him feel the warmth of the world for the first time. He would never forget how the delicate Jasmine had once gathered the courage to press a dagger against Su Mu's neck, demanding his release.
"Why! Why is this happening? Why did Jasmine suddenly disappear!?" the furious Yang Dongqing roared, smashing the room's furniture into a chaotic mess.
Yet he only felt powerless. Deeply powerless.
Meanwhile, inside Murong Manor, Murong Yun, who was leisurely embracing two beautiful women, suddenly realized he could no longer feel their presence next to him.
He snapped his eyes open and saw that the beauties were still on the bed. It wasn't that the women were gone; it was that his own arms were gone.
Where are my arms!?
Murong Yun stared in shock at his own body. Its color was gradually fading, slowly turning transparent.
Noticing the anomaly, the two beauties screamed in terror.
"Ah! Young Master Yun, your body..."
Shut up!
Murong Yun was startled by the screaming. He instinctively wanted to tell them to shut up, but the words reached his lips without producing the slightest sound.
What exactly is happening!? No, no, no! I don't want to disappear!
Amid his despair and breakdown, he completely vanished from the mortal world.
This scene didn't just play out in Star City. All across the Chiyan Empire, in various opulent noble estates, similar scenes unfolded continuously.
It was as if an unimaginable, mighty power had descended at this moment, erasing the existence of all these people at once.
The disappearance of a large number of nobles sparked a chain reaction that swept up a massive storm throughout the Chiyan Empire.
When Su Mu returned to the Bronze Coffin Company, he saw Yang Dongqing with a pale face and heavily bloodshot eyes.
When Yang Dongqing saw Su Mu, it was as if he had found a savior. He rushed over like a madman.
"Su Mu, Jasmine is gone! She disappeared. I'm begging you, please help me find her!"
Su Mu frowned slightly. Jasmine was gone again? Had she been abducted by Murong Yun again?
At that moment, Nangong Mengli walked over quickly, her expression grave. "Something happened. A spy I planted near Murong Yun sent word. An hour ago, Murong Yun's body suddenly grew transparent, and he eventually vanished entirely."
"What!?" Yang Dongqing froze. "He disappeared too?"
"Too? Do you mean Jasmine disappeared the same way Murong Yun did?" Su Mu asked, hitting the nail on the head.
Yang Dongqing nodded hurriedly and recounted everything that had just happened.
"Boss! Latest intelligence from the Empire!" an employee of the Bronze Coffin Company rushed over, frantically waving a sheet of paper covered in intel.
Nangong Mengli took the report and read it. Her pupils dilated slightly, her eyes filled with disbelief.
"What happened?"
"See for yourself." Nangong Mengli handed the intelligence over. Su Mu looked closely and saw two announcements written on it.
They had just been issued by the Chiyan Imperial Family. The text was long, but the first announcement essentially stated that they had discovered the Blood Moon Empire's infiltration within the country. A portion of the nobles had committed treason. The Empire had taken strict measures to eradicate all traitors and was demanding a corresponding explanation and compensation from the Blood Moon Empire, threatening war otherwise.
The second announcement was about the Seven Deadly Sins. In it, the Seven Deadly Sins were classified as the most heinous terrorist organization in the history of the Chiyan Empire. Their crimes were utterly despicable, having consecutively murdered two imperial nobles, Murong Zhuo and Shentu Lie, along with nearly a hundred enforcers. The Royal Family issued a bounty: anyone who could capture even a single member of the Seven Deadly Sins would immediately be granted a noble title.
Below the announcements was some intelligence regarding the Imperial Capital. The Imperial Capital had fallen into turmoil today, with massive numbers of enforcers taking to the streets to maintain order. Many nobles had their homes raided. Furthermore, in several public venues, numerous people had witnessed with their own eyes several nobles vanishing in broad daylight.
Seeing this, Su Mu roughly understood what had happened. This was a countermeasure by the Chiyan Imperial Family against the Blood Moon Empire's invasion. However, he hadn't expected this countermeasure to be so bizarre, completely surpassing the bounds of ordinary comprehension.
They had directly erased everyone who had become a member of the Blood Clan? What kind of power was this?
Whether it was the nobles in the Imperial Capital who had already joined the Blood Clan, or Murong Yun and Jasmine far away in Star City—all of them were obliterated at essentially the exact same time by this unknown force.
A targeted eradication that ignored space and location... was this truly something a Transcendent could achieve? This was nothing short of the power of a God!
No wonder the Chiyan Empire was still standing despite being so corrupt internally and plagued by domestic strife and foreign threats. As long as this power existed, the Chiyan Empire would never fall.
As everyone knew, there were only six of the Seven Kings. The fact that the Chiyan Empire could stand alongside the other six major empires without possessing a true King spoke volumes.
"What does it say?" Yang Dongqing asked, overcome with anxiety. He could roughly guess that this intelligence had something to do with Jasmine's disappearance.
