I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 203: It Lines Up, It All Lines Up
Impersonating a member of the Seven Deadly Sins for the first time made Yan Moxie a little nervous, especially when he saw the three Gold experts standing in the clearing. However, remembering he had already reached an agreement with them eased his tension slightly.
After all, the Seven Deadly Sins and the Revolutionary Army had no conflict of interest. On the contrary, they could even be considered allies. The enemy of an enemy was a friend.
He slowly walked up to the three of them. Daoist Priest Xuanqing offered an enthusiastic greeting. "Uncle Gluttony, what took you so long?"
"I was delayed by a little something on the way," Yan Moxie said in a low voice. Out of the corner of his eye, he subtly appraised the other two members of the Seven Deadly Sins he had never met.
Greed had a robust physique and an imposing aura, looking like someone who had long held a position of authority.
Envy, just as Lust had described, had deathly pale skin on her exposed hands. She was generally thin and carried a somewhat gloomy aura.
He offered Greed and Envy a symbolic nod in greeting.
Sikong Zhen and Xueyuan hastily nodded in response, not daring to show the slightest hint anything was amiss. Instead, they covertly appraised Gluttony.
Given that trick of hiding in the shadows just now, it seemed Gluttony's ability was the Gold Law, [Shadow Demon].
The two men secretly raised their guard. The frontal combat ability of [Shadow Demon] was relatively weak, but its capacity for escape and ambush was top-tier. Just like earlier, neither of them had sensed Gluttony's approach."Excellent. Now we're just waiting for Boss Pride. It's just the few of us for today's mission; the others aren't nearby," Daoist Priest Xuanqing said casually, speaking as if he were chatting with an old colleague he had known for years.
However, the only response he received was endless silence. Saying too much would only lead to mistakes; none of them dared speak out of turn.
Only Yan Moxie, playing Gluttony, remained relatively relaxed. He felt the least pressure in his disguise—after all, he had Pride's permission. It was practically an official certification.
He asked, "Is the Leader coming as an avatar this time, or with his true body?"
His question immediately grabbed Sikong Zhen and Xueyuan's attention, and they both pricked up their ears. There were many things they couldn't ask themselves, but if an internal member of the Seven Deadly Sins took the initiative, they were naturally more than happy to listen.
"An avatar, of course," Daoist Priest Xuanqing said. He rested his hands behind his head and leaned lazily against a large tree, looking thoroughly relaxed. "Today's mission is very simple. We're just here to kill a Gold powerhouse. Why would the Boss need to bring his true body for such a trivial matter?"
"I see," Yan Moxie nodded calmly. He had already been informed of the mission details, so he wasn't too surprised.
But beside him, a tempest surged in the hearts of Sikong Zhen and Xueyuan. 'Kill a Gold powerhouse!?'
No wonder the Seven Deadly Sins were gathering here. They were actually planning to assassinate a Gold expert! Who exactly were they trying to kill?
In that moment, their curiosity reached its peak.
Daoist Priest Xuanqing continued, "The blame falls entirely on this Gold powerhouse for insisting on coming to Star City recently. Isn't he just throwing himself into our net?"
'Recently? Coming to Star City!?'
'Could he be talking about me!?' Sikong Zhen thought.
'Have my movements been discovered!?' Xueyuan wondered.
The two men instantly tensed up, vigilantly watching the other Seven Deadly Sins members present, terrified of being ganged up on.
"Is everyone here?" An arrogant male voice suddenly echoed through the clearing. It seemed to carry a biting, piercing wind—cold and flamboyant.
Sikong Zhen and Xueyuan jolted in shock. They hastily turned around, only to see a tall, slender figure standing right behind them.
The Silver-White Mask on his face bore a contemptuous smile. He looked like an incredibly arrogant emperor looking down upon all living beings, as if the entire world ought to bow at his feet.
The Head of the Seven Deadly Sins! Pride!!
His phantom-like appearance made the two men feel as if they were facing a mortal enemy. Their only solace was that Pride didn't seem to have noticed them; he walked straight past them without so much as a glance.
"Greetings, Leader!" Daoist Priest Xuanqing was the first to react, hastily calling out in respect.
Yan Moxie, as Gluttony, was the second. "Leader."
The pressure instantly fell onto Sikong Zhen and Xueyuan. After a brief hesitation, they quickly mimicked the others, lowering their heads slightly. "Greetings, Leader."
"Mm." Su Mu gave a detached nod. Without wasting a single word, he cut straight to the chase. "Today's mission is simple. My spies planted within the Empire have obtained intel. The Law Enforcement Bureau somehow got wind of our organization's movements. They learned that Envy would be appearing at Lanshan today, so they set up an ambush specifically for her.
"Therefore, I intend to beat them at their own game. I gathered you all here to wipe out these Law Enforcement Bureau agents in one fell swoop."
At those words, Sikong Zhen and Xueyuan were horrified. If not for the masks hiding their faces, their reactions would have definitely been noticed.
Sikong Zhen was completely dumbfounded. 'What the hell is going on!? A time paradox?'
'I asked Daoist Priest Xuanqing to divine the future and learned that the Seven Deadly Sins would appear at Lanshan, so I deliberately set an ambush here. But the Seven Deadly Sins originally had no intention of coming to Lanshan—they only came here to counter-ambush us because they heard about the operation from an Imperial spy!?'
'In other words, I single-handedly brought about this future? If I hadn't gone to Daoist Priest Xuanqing, the Seven Deadly Sins wouldn't have shown up at Lanshan at all?'
'Damn it! How could this happen!'
'Didn't Daoist Priest Xuanqing only see Envy and Greed in his vision of the future?'
He carefully recalled Daoist Priest Xuanqing's previous words.
The past conversation floated into his mind.
"Did it fail?"
"It succeeded. However, this idol is newly carved, which caused the divine power of the Celestial Sovereign of Longevity to flow unsmoothly. As a result, the images of the future couldn't fully form and were fragmented. Fortunately, this poor Daoist is sincere, so I still managed to catch a glimpse of the future."
'Fragmented? A glimpse of the future?'
'Fuck! It really was just a damn glimpse! He didn't see a single thing beyond that!'
'It was precisely because Daoist Priest Xuanqing had only seen a glimpse that I dared to bring troops here, allowing things to develop exactly according to the future trend. If I had known so many members of the Seven Deadly Sins were coming, I absolutely would not have come here to throw my life away!'
Impersonating a member of the Seven Deadly Sins for the first time made Yan Moxie a little nervous, especially when he saw the three Gold experts standing in the clearing. However, knowing he had already reached an agreement with the Seven Deadly Sins eased his tension slightly.

If I had known so many members of the Seven Deadly Sins were coming, I absolutely would not have come here to throw my life away!
It all lines up. It all fucking lines up!
For the first time, he understood what the true future was. He had been completely played by the so-called future.
Wait, then what about Envy and Greed fighting in that future vision?
Were Envy and Greed going to spar after this incident? Or... was the one fighting Envy not Greed at all, but actually me!?
Am I going to be exposed any second now!?
Sikong Zhen's pupils contracted sharply. It was true that he was a Gold powerhouse, but that didn't mean he wasn't afraid of death.
Xueyuan was in an equal state of shock. The Law Enforcement Bureau brought people to ambush Envy? But I'm not Envy! What the hell is going on!? Where is the real Envy?
Su Mu continued in his detached tone, "I scouted the area on my way here. The leader this time is Shentu Lie, and he's brought a group of elites from various branches of the Law Enforcement Bureau. They are lying in ambush all around Lanshan."
