I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World

Chapter 182: Immortality and the Undying Body

Murderous intent flared in the red-suited man's eyes, and he crushed the glass in his hand. "The Blood Moon Empire will eventually dominate the world, and the Longyuan Empire will fall into our hands sooner or later!"

"Just like what you did to the Chiyan Empire? If I'm not mistaken, many nobles within the Chiyan Empire have already been converted into the Blood Clan, haven't they?"

"You'll understand all of this naturally once you join us."

"One last question. Why did my father refuse you?"

"Hmph. Your father was indecisive. He wanted lifespan, but he didn't want to be controlled by the Blood Clan, so he pinned his hopes on the Eye of Gold. He planned to join us just before his lifespan ran out if he still couldn't find it. That hesitation doomed him; otherwise, he never would have died at the hands of Pride."

Murong Yun smiled coldly. "That sounds like him. I'll make sure not to follow in his footsteps. Do it."

The red-suited man slowly opened his mouth, bared his sharp fangs, and bit viciously into Murong Yun's neck.

As massive amounts of blood drained from him, Murong Yun blacked out.

An unknown amount of time passed before he woke. He felt an indescribable lightness throughout his body, brimming with power.

He pushed himself off the floor, only to find the red-suited man long gone. A single note had been left behind: "Congratulations on joining the great Blood Clan. We will help you become the Murong Family Head. In return, once you take the position, you must push as deep into the Imperial Capital's core of power as possible."

Murong Yun tore the note to shreds. The gloom from before had vanished from his face, replaced by absolute confidence.

"This feeling is truly wonderful. Father, I never expected you to leave me such a great legacy. Thanks to your refusal of the Blood Clan back then, I was given this opportunity. Don't worry—under my leadership, the Murong Family will return to glory!

"It's just a pity that the Murong Family might not be nobles of the Chiyan Empire by then, but of the Blood Moon Empire. It doesn't matter, though. Being a noble is the same anywhere."

Suddenly, his expression changed. He clutched his stomach as a surge of intense hunger swept through him. He couldn't suppress the urge to drink blood—a craving so overpowering it pushed even his obsession with becoming the family head to the back of his mind.

He hurriedly grabbed his phone and called over the women he kept.

An hour later, the room was littered with corpses—seven women in total. Their beautiful faces were frozen in disbelief and terror, two bloody holes marring each of their necks. All life was gone from them.

Murong Yun didn't care. Instead, he leaned back on the sofa with a satisfied look. "This feeling is truly great. I just didn't control my strength well enough for my first time and accidentally killed them all. Looks like I'll have to find a new batch."

Having felt stifled for days, he was finally relaxed and happy. In an excellent mood, he turned on the record player to listen to some music.

A clean, ethereal female voice drifted from the record player. It sounded like a lovestruck maiden, slowly singing of her beautiful hopes for the future and romance.

"I look forward to a brilliant future, where dreams shine brightly in the distance. I look forward to the arrival of love, lighting up my heart like the stars..."

"I look forward to the evergreen holly reflecting the light of the years..."

"I look forward to your expectations..."

This was a recently popular song in Star City, and one that Murong Yun liked very much. Every time he heard it, he could almost see a lovestruck maiden softly singing right before his eyes, wearing a faint, beautiful smile.

The song was titled "I Look Forward To".

When the song finished, Murong Yun slowly opened his eyes and smiled. "I look forward to it, too."

"Come to think of it, the woman who sings this song seems to be from Star City as well."

...

...

"The final moment has arrived."

In the dreamscape, Su Mu sighed with emotion. He had stayed in the dream for three whole days. Aside from occasionally returning to reality to eat and handle a few Sea Kingdom affairs, he had remained in the dream to micromanage everything.

Under his tireless efforts, the Celestial Sovereign of Longevity and the Sea God had already fought to a mutually destructive standstill.

The two heaven-spanning giants in the dream had long since vanished. Only two orbs of light—one cyan and one blue—remained. These two orbs seemed to be embedded in one another, constantly crushing into each other's body.

"As expected of the Divinity of Gods. Even on the verge of fading away, neither side has held back in the slightest. Truly fighting to the death."

The next moment, Su Mu arrived before these two orbs of light. Reaching out, he grabbed them and stuffed them directly into his own body.

Just like he had dominated the Primal Angel's Divinity, he was going to thoroughly control the Divinity of the Celestial Sovereign of Longevity and the Sea God!

These two streams of Divinity had been too strong for him to do this before, but now... the snipe and the clam grapple, the fisherman profits!

As he devoured the two streams of Divinity, an intense tearing sensation hit him, as if trying to rip his soul apart alive. However, as the Silver Vertical Pupil between his brows erupted with silver light, the tearing sensation was slowly suppressed.

Borrowing the Primal Angel's Divinity, he continuously fused them together. After a full day, he finally digested the two streams of Divinity completely!

At this point, Su Mu harbored the Divinity of three Gods: the Primal Angel, the Celestial Sovereign of Longevity, and the Sea God.

These three streams of Divinity also brought him three different abilities. The Primal Angel gave him the God's Eye, which possessed a powerful force of annihilation.

The Celestial Sovereign of Longevity's ability was very interesting. Su Mu waved his hand, and a translucent tentacle extended from his body, swaying at will.

This tentacle possessed no offensive power, but it had the ability to extract lifespan. In other words, he could now extract other people's lifespans to replenish his own, or bestow it upon others.

If used properly, the ability to extract lifespan was basically equivalent to immortality.

However, limited by his own life tier, his body couldn't store too much lifespan. If he wanted to live forever, he would have to periodically extract lifespan from others.

Su Mu felt nothing toward immortality; an endless life would only bring endless boredom.

With a shift in his thoughts, that translucent tentacle was suddenly dyed a smear of black, somewhat resembling a combination of the Sea God's black fleshy tentacles and the Celestial Sovereign of Longevity's tentacle.

Now, the tentacle could extract not only lifespan, but also souls.

Su Mu thought for a moment and finally gave it a name: Divine Touch.

Aside from Divine Touch, his biggest harvest had to be the Undying Body attached to the Sea God Divinity.

It was an Undying Body in the truest sense, one that not even Mithril could counter. This already belonged to the domain of Gods.

However, while his soul allowed him to retain his human senses, it was also the greatest weakness of this Undying Body. If he encountered a powerful soul attack, he would still die.

In comparison, the undead sirens didn't have this concern. Because their souls were held in the hands of the Sea God, their souls were absolutely safe unless the Sea God was killed first.

Overall, his combat power hadn't increased significantly, but his life-saving abilities were maxed out. He now possessed both immortality and an Undying Body.

This also left Su Mu somewhat dissatisfied. He enjoyed the feeling of dancing on the edge of a blade. Suddenly being unable to die truly took some of the fun out of it.
