I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World

Chapter 130: The Seven Deadly Sins — Pride!

"Bang, bang, bang..." The masked man continued to unhurriedly mimic the sound of gunfire. His fingertips, clad in pristine white gloves, were like the fingers of the Grim Reaper—whoever he pointed at died.

Thud, thud, thud...

Several fleeing guests suddenly stiffened. They collapsed straight to the ground, utterly devoid of life.

After that, no one dared to run. Everyone stood frozen in place, faces etched with terror, not even daring to breathe too loudly.

Murong Yun didn't dare move either, terrified he would be the next to take a bullet. The higher a person's status, the more they feared death; they simply couldn't bear to part with everything they owned. He had no idea if he, as a Transcendent, could block such a bizarre method of murder, and he didn't dare gamble on it.

The unknown was always the most terrifying. If the masked man were killing people with a real handgun, these Transcendents naturally wouldn't be afraid. What they feared was that unknown—their absolute inability to figure out how he was killing them.

What the hell was going on!? Where were the people outside? Were they all fucking dead? How could no one have come to investigate such a massive commotion?

A drop of cold sweat slid down Murong Yun's forehead. He couldn't understand why the people outside hadn't noticed all the screaming. Where was the Murong Family's guard detail? Where were the people from the Law Enforcement Bureau?

The reason the outside world hadn't noticed the anomaly here was naturally because Su Mu had already used the Soundless Heavenly Melody to absorb all the noise, completely preventing it from escaping.

In truth, his grand performance still had flaws. If someone observed carefully, they would realize that the only people who had died so far were insignificant, ordinary people. They might have been wealthy and powerful in the outside world, but they ultimately couldn't compare to true nobles; they couldn't even compare to Qian Zihao, the richest man in the city.

Upper-class circles were also divided into tiers, and these people were undoubtedly at the very bottom. They didn't even possess Protective Artifacts. They might have hired Transcendent bodyguards, but no one would bring a bodyguard into a Murong Family banquet; at most, they would station them outside.

Just as the atmosphere reached its most suffocating point, a fierce gale suddenly whipped through the hall, and Murong Zhuo appeared in the center of the room as if he had teleported.

"Murong Family Head!!" someone roared in excitement, as if they had just seen their savior.

Bang!

The masked man lightly raised a finger, and the man dropped dead on cue.

Murong Zhuo took in the complete devastation of the banquet and the corpses littering the floor. His face darkened, and the murderous intent in his eyes almost physically materialized as he locked his gaze on the masked man upon the high platform.

"Just who the hell are you?" he let out a hoarse growl, like a lion issuing a warning.

Atop the high platform, the masked man elegantly removed his top hat and offered a slight bow to the crowd like a noble. His calm voice reached everyone's ears.

"Allow me to formally introduce myself. I am the Head of the Seven Deadly Sins—Pride!"

Impeccable etiquette and a humble manner of address. It clearly looked like a very modest self-introduction, yet for some reason, everyone could feel the sheer arrogance underlying that humility.

Su Mu had casually fabricated a nonexistent organization. He needed to give the Chiyan Empire a false target; otherwise, where would the Chiyan Empire direct their investigation after he killed Murong Zhuo?

Murong Zhuo furrowed his brow. He racked his brain but couldn't recall any intelligence regarding an organization called the Seven Deadly Sins. He could only make a basic deduction based on the name: the Seven Deadly Sins referred to humanity's original sins—Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Lust!

Did this mean there were seven people in the Seven Deadly Sins?

"I don't care who you are. Hand over the Eye of Gold, and I will leave your corpse intact!"

"Heh..." Pride let out a light, disdainful chuckle, mocking Murong Zhuo for overestimating his own capabilities.

"I really want to know—just where does a mere Silver 3 get the courage to say such words?"

A flash of murderous intent crossed Murong Zhuo's eyes. His patience had reached its limit.

Whoosh!

He charged toward Pride like a gale, his speed so great he left a trail of afterimages in the air.

But the moment his punch shattered Pride's body, a mocking voice rang out from behind him: "Too slow, old man."

What!?

Startled, Murong Zhuo swiftly spun around to attack, only for his punch to hit empty air. When he focused his gaze, Pride was nowhere to be seen. It was as if the man had vanished into thin air.

"Where did he go?!" Murong Zhuo bellowed.

Murong Yun shook his head, his expression grim. "I didn't see. He disappeared into thin air."

"Disappeared into thin air?" Murong Zhuo intensely scanned everyone present. "It's impossible for him to vanish into thin air. What I just attacked was merely a phantom. If this person truly possessed such terrifying speed, he would have fled long ago. He must be hiding among these people. Lock down this entire floor. No one is permitted to leave!"

"Yes, Father!"

Murong Yun hastily agreed. Knowing his father was in a towering rage, he didn't dare disobey in the slightest. He quickly led his men to seal off the main doors and the windows.

The atmosphere became extremely oppressive once more. Murong Zhuo's falcon-like eyes constantly scoured the crowd in an attempt to find Pride, but no matter how hard he looked, he couldn't spot a single person with a similar build.

Dum, dum, dum...

The impassioned piano melody was still playing, making Murong Zhuo's temples throb. "Stop playing!"

He roared, but the pianist seemed not to hear him and continued to play.

Whoosh!

A blade of wind instantly slashed through the pianist's body, severing him cleanly in two. Crimson blood dyed the black and white keys red.

After killing the man, Murong Zhuo froze. It wasn't just him; everyone else reacted the same way, staring blankly at the piano.

Dum, dum, dum...

The impassioned piano melody kept playing!!

The dense notes of the piano hammered into everyone's hearts like the heavy blows of a sledgehammer...

"A ghost! A ghost!" someone shrieked. This completely illogical occurrence continuously challenged everyone's sanity.

"Shut up!" Murong Zhuo bellowed. His broad hand suddenly chopped downward, and countless streams of white airflow instantly wrapped around his palm. Whoosh!

Accompanied by a sonic boom, the wind blade cleaved the piano cleanly in half. But... the piano music kept playing!

At this, the mental strings of a few fragile individuals completely snapped.

"A ghost! He's a ghost! I can't take this anymore. I want to leave, let me go!" A man rushed to the main entrance and bitterly pleaded with Murong Yun.

Murong Yun's expression was exceedingly grim. "Get lost!"

He roughly shoved the man to the ground.

"Father, what do we do now?"

"Hmph!" Murong Zhuo snorted coldly. "He must be hiding among these people. He seems to come and go like a shadow, but he's actually just playing parlor tricks. If his strength was truly so great, why wouldn't he dare face me head-on?"

"I originally wanted to play around a little longer, but it seems you've grown a bit impatient."
