I Use Illusions to Control the Whole World
Chapter 110: This is the Thrill I've Been Chasing!
It was grotesque beyond belief. In place of a human head sat a massive ear, as large as a skull itself.
A leader?
Su Mu's eyes flickered. He silently closed in on the Headless One leader, stepping lightly over the sleeping Headless Ones on the ground. His speed never slowed. He was like a dancer on a knife's edge—a single misstep would plunge him into certain doom.
Yet his formidable spiritual strength and enhanced physique made his footwork as precise as a Scalpel, without a single flaw.
A hundred meters away, red light flashed in Mu Cheng's eyes. He didn't back down, following closely behind.
Suddenly, the Headless One leader seemed to catch a faint noise. It rose to its feet, the giant ear on its neck swiveling like a radar as invisible sound waves churned into tiny vortexes just in front of it.
It quickly locked onto Su Mu and Mu Cheng's positions. Seeing this, the two men froze instantly like children playing red light, green light, neither daring to move a muscle.
The Headless One leader waited for a moment. Hearing nothing else out of place, it turned, aiming its massive ear in another direction.
Su Mu realized he couldn't advance any further. The Headless One leader's hearing was clearly sharper than the ordinary ones; even the faintest rustle wouldn't escape its notice.
But Mu Cheng acted as if he had lost his mind, continuing to creep forward. His movements drew the leader's invisible gaze several times.Yet whenever that gaze swept over him, he immediately froze in place.
He risked everything just to close the gap on Su Mu. Finally, about ten meters away, he came to a halt.
Su Mu watched him with interest, fully aware that Mu Cheng had a trick up his sleeve. Otherwise, he wouldn't have sent a cyborg to die for nothing.
Sure enough, a vicious sneer crept onto Mu Cheng's face the next moment. He slowly raised his left arm, and the tip of one of his metal fingers split apart to reveal a slender black tube.
Hiss...
A jet of purple poison gas sprayed out, washing over Su Mu.
Su Mu raised an eyebrow. He had waited all this time, and this was it? Poison gas?
He had actually been expecting Mu Cheng to produce some sort of surprise. Seeing this, he couldn't help but feel disappointed.
The purple poison gas quickly engulfed Su Mu. He didn't bother to dodge, letting the toxin seep into his body.
Mu Cheng was ecstatic. This was his specially formulated toxin; a single breath was lethal, and even skin contact was enough to poison a man.
In his eyes, Su Mu was already a dead man.
But as the seconds ticked by, Mu Cheng's ecstatic joy turned to ice. Su Mu just stood there unharmed. He even let out a bored yawn.
That's impossible!?
Sss...
The gas ran out. A few wisps of purple smoke sputtered pitifully from the tube like a weak stream of piss before completely drying up.
The poison was decent, but it was hard-countered by the Immaculate Heart.
Su Mu lost his patience. His shadow rippled without wind, and the dark shadow Bubai quickly stepped out of it, reaching forward with its single remaining arm.
Su Mu grabbed Bubai's large hand, and then...
"Mr. Mu, since you have no surprises left to offer, I'm afraid you'll have to die."
He didn't speak loudly—his tone was almost gentle—but in a dead, silent city where a pin drop would echo, that soft voice hit like a thunderbolt, shattering the stillness.
Instantly, across the plaza and from the deep pits in the stone walls, wave after wave of Headless Ones stood up in perfect unison, facing straight in Su Mu's direction.
"Hahaha..." At such a tense moment, Mu Cheng threw his head back and roared with laughter. "Su Mu, did you really think I was helpless against you? Did you think you were the only one with a trump card?"
Countless Headless Ones swarmed toward them like a tidal wave, a horrific onslaught threatening to drown them both.
Yet Mu Cheng kept laughing. "You ruined everything I built! Even if I have to sacrifice this cyborg, I'm taking you down with me! Weren't you relying on that monster? Take another look and tell me if it can still save you!"
Su Mu's eyes narrowed as he instantly sensed something wrong. Bubai, who should have been dragging him into the Shadow Space, was frozen in place, as if locked by an immobilization spell.
"Is this the power of the Servant Master?"
"Hahaha... Spot on! This is Sequence 24 of the Silver Law: Servant Master! By destroying my cyborgs, you freed up my servant quota, giving me more than enough spiritual strength to take control. I haven't refined your shadow monster, so I can't control it directly, but I can still forcefully influence it!
You're dead meat, Su Mu!"
Mu Cheng's face twisted into an increasingly savage sneer, a viciousness that even his metal features couldn't conceal.
A strange light danced in Su Mu's crystalline blue eyes. Releasing Bubai's hand, he actually began to clap for Mu Cheng. "Incredible," he praised. "Truly worthy of a Silver powerhouse!
Only a game where the tables could turn at any moment is worth playing. Mr. Mu, you didn't disappoint me after all."
"I don't need your damn praise! Go to hell, Su Mu!" Mu Cheng despised being praised like this; it made him feel like a schoolboy being patted on the head by a teacher.
He lunged forward, hurtling toward Su Mu just as the horde of Headless Ones completely surrounded them.
It was a terrifying sight: Mu Cheng, gleaming with metallic luster, vaulted high into the air and crashed down like a human tank, while a tidal wave of headless monsters closed in from all sides.
Su Mu was well and truly trapped. With no path to heaven and no door to hell, he was locked in a situation of certain death!
But he was still smiling. His smile stretched wider and wider until it twisted into something grotesque, his expression alight with an almost euphoric madness.
"This is it... This is the thrill I've been chasing!!"
With a flip of his wrist, a vial of pale red potion abruptly appeared in his grasp. Having no time to pry open the stopper, he raised the red liquid and crushed the transparent glass vial right in his hand. With a sharp crack, Su Mu threw his head back, swallowing the pale red potion along with the shattered glass.
Gulp.
He gulped it down, entirely ignoring the sharp pain of glass slicing his throat. His face grew increasingly euphoric. A blood-red hue had somehow bled into his eyes, and a faint flush crept across his pale skin, making him look heavily intoxicated.
This was the effect of the Rage Potion: overdrawing his physical limits to forcefully unleash a terrifying well of potential.
