Chapter 368: Chapter 292: Celestial One Divine Water

Chen Buhuo probably never imagined, even in his final moments, that he wouldn’t fall to an enemy’s blade. Instead, he was gruesomely sacrificed alive, transformed by a special Secret Technique into a protective shield—a tool for the Purple-robed Cultivator to save his own skin.

"Blood Soul Tribulation!"

VMMMM...

The Purple-robed Cultivator’s expression was cold and indifferent. Chen Buhuo’s body in his hands suddenly radiated a red glow before melting away completely, forming a crimson shield in front of him to block the Water Country’s Immeasurable Calamity.

RUMBLE!!

It was as if the world was being remade. A colossal wave swelled, carrying with it immense weight and boundless power. In that instant, it crashed down violently upon the Purple-robed Cultivator.

KRA-CRACK...

The seemingly indestructible crimson shield was covered in cracks in a mere instant. It held for less than a breath before shattering violently.

The towering wave and boundless light erupted, completely engulfing the Purple-robed Cultivator and crushing down on him.

A look of panic crossed the Purple-robed Cultivator’s face. The moment the wave hit, he gritted his teeth, but every defense proved useless. Before this radiant, heavenly might, his struggles were feeble, almost laughable.

"No!!"

He hadn’t even finished his sorrowful cry when the great wave washed over him, engulfing his voice and body completely. The world turned into a vast, white expanse, with nothing but the shimmering of water.

Within this Water Country, the Profound Turtle was the absolute Dominator. With the eruption of its magnificent power, the very heavens and earth seemed to collapse. No matter what other tricks the Purple-robed Cultivator had up his sleeve, no matter how unreconciled he felt, the only fate that awaited him was death.

A few moments later, the water calmed to a gentle ripple. The once-gloomy sky cleared. The spectral image of the Profound Turtle glanced at Yu Changsheng one last time, a hint of exhaustion in its expression, and then slowly vanished.

The water between heaven and earth quietly receded, and the howling gales ceased. Once everything had dissipated, only the sky above remained. Peace returned to Huishui Mountain, as if nothing had ever happened.

HUFF... HUFF... HUFF...

Yu Changsheng was sprawled on the ground, his chest heaving violently. Large drops of sweat trickled from his forehead. His face was pale, but a faint smile slowly touched his lips.

"Is... is it over?"

Only then did it seem Li Minghan had woken from a long dream. As he took in the scene, a look of relief for having survived a calamity washed over his face. He stared at Yu Changsheng, his eyes a mixture of disbelief and utter shock, his expression incredibly complex.

"Yeah, it’s over... What was that just now?"

Zhang Tianwen murmured to himself, making no effort to hide his shock. He gazed at the collapsed Yu Changsheng, his expression complex and thoughtful.

’He was discovering he couldn’t see through Yu Changsheng at all anymore.’

"That just now... What kind of tamed beast was that? Its power alone was so terrifying."

Shen Xingchen’s pupils contracted. He stared at Yu Changsheng and exhaled deeply. Just moments ago, he had genuinely felt the threat of death, and he’d even been prepared to use a life-risking technique. Thankfully, the danger had passed without incident, resolved by Yu Changsheng.

’Thank you, Senior...’

Yu Changsheng respectfully thanked the Profound Turtle in his mind.

’You brat, can’t you ever keep a low profile? I’d just finished restoring a bit of my Origin, and this one attack has drained so much of it...’

The Profound Turtle’s voice, tinged with exhaustion, was ancient and weary.

Yu Changsheng remained silent, once more offering thanks and apologies in his mind.

This time, if the Profound Turtle hadn’t acted, the outcome would have likely been grim. After all, the Purple-robed Cultivator’s Mid-stage Golden Core Cultivation was an undeniable fact. No matter how exceptional Yu Changsheng was, faced with such a vast chasm in power, all his own methods seemed woefully inadequate.

To the others, however, his display was nothing short of divine. For those like Li Minghan who knew Yu Changsheng well, the memory was simply unbelievable.

"It’s okay now... The crisis has been averted."

Yu Changsheng turned to look at the three of them, who were hesitating, wanting to speak. A faint smile touched his pale face as he said softly,

"Alright..." Zhang Tianwen fell silent for a moment before finally breaking into a grin and nodding slowly.

Though their minds were filled with questions, none of them pried.

"That was a close call. We owe it all to Changsheng this time," Li Minghan said with feeling, his gaze on Yu Changsheng a mixture of immense curiosity and gratitude.

"As long as you’re safe, that’s all that matters." Yu Changsheng gave a small smile. He turned to pick up the Storage Pouches left by the Purple-robed Cultivator and Chen Buhuo, then glanced toward the horizon. After a moment of thought, he nodded to the others and said,

"The danger has passed, and we’re not far from the base of the mountain. If you don’t mind, Senior Brother Zhang, you all should head back first. There’s something else I need to look into here on Huishui Mountain."

"What?" Zhang Tianwen was taken aback. He looked up at Yu Changsheng’s earnest expression, his composure faltering for an instant before he quickly recovered. After a long silence, he gave Yu Changsheng a deep, meaningful look.

"Is it urgent?" Li Minghan asked, a trace of doubt in his voice.

"It’s not urgent, but since I’m already here, it’s something I need to handle."

Yu Changsheng considered for a moment, then spoke softly.

"Alright. In that case, be careful. Let us know if you need anything. We’ll wait for you in Medicinal Herb Town down below."

Zhang Tianwen didn’t press the issue. After this final word of caution, he clasped his fist in a salute to Yu Changsheng, then turned and led the other two away.

Everyone has their secrets. Whether it was the Profound Turtle’s intervention or Yu Changsheng’s decision now, the others shared an unspoken understanding not to pry.

Only after watching the three of them leave did Yu Changsheng let out a long sigh of relief. He took out a few Elixirs and swallowed them to recover some of his energy. Then, sinking his consciousness into his Inner Realm, he looked at the weakened, exhausted Profound Turtle and spoke apologetically,
