Chapter 362: Chapter 289: Dragon’s Roar Sword Detonation

At this moment, as the Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider unleashed its full power, Yu Changsheng and the others were like a lone boat before a tidal wave, about to be swamped.

Under the terrifying pressure, they could not move a muscle. Only their minds still functioned. Every movement was an immense struggle, as if they were trapped in a bottomless mire. They could only watch helplessly as the web that blotted out the sky drew ever closer.

Even Yu Changsheng could not help a wry, helpless smile from gracing his lips.

’I guess I was a bit too arrogant this time...’

His Physical Strength erupted, and his Divine Sense and Cultivation circulated frantically. Assessing his predicament, Yu Changsheng felt a bitter taste in his mouth as waves of imminent danger washed over his mind.

Every cell in his body screamed a warning. The hairs on his skin stood on end, and his scalp tingled with dread.

In the nick of time, a low sigh was heard.

"Zhang Tianwen, after this is over, you’ll owe me one."

Astonished, Yu Changsheng struggled to turn his head toward the speaker.

He saw Shen Xingchen, his face grim, suddenly bite his tongue and spray a mouthful of crimson blood onto the Dragon’s Roar Sword in his hand.

The Dragon’s Roar Sword frantically absorbed the blood, trembling violently. A draconic hum echoed from it as an intense, bloody light flared from the blade, instantly engulfing the heavens and the earth. A world-shattering Sword Qi burst forth.

"With my lifeblood, I will shatter this doom!"

Shen Xingchen’s cold, clear voice rang out. The Dragon’s Roar Sword shot from his hand, transforming into a world-shaking crimson streak. It effortlessly tore through the massive web and stabbed toward the Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider’s abdomen!

"HSSSSSS!"

Flesh was torn open. The Dragon’s Roar Sword, now a streak of light, shot through the wound and buried itself inside. The Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider shrieked in agony, its oppressive aura intensifying. The giant web shimmered with green light as the tear made by the sword rapidly sealed itself.

RUMBLE!

Terrifying fluctuations began to build within the Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider’s abdomen. Waves of berserk energy rippled outward, distorting the very air around it. Streaks of searing, bloody light pulsed from the Dragon’s Roar Sword lodged deep within its flesh.

"Human, what are you trying to do?!?!"

The Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider was both shocked and enraged. For the first time, panic flickered in its crimson eyes, laced with a hint of fear. Its body began to thrash violently.

"What am I trying to do?" Shen Xingchen sneered, a crazed, desperate light in his eyes. "What do you think? I’m going to kill you!"

"Dragon’s Roar Sword... explode!"

Shen Xingchen slashed a finger across his wrist, drawing another line of blood. As his voice fell, chillingly cold, the bloody light erupting from the Dragon’s Roar Sword deep inside the spider’s flesh reached its peak. Then, it suddenly went dark, and the berserk energy detonated in an instant.

"BOOOOOOM!!!"

The earth-shattering explosion thundered through the sky. Dark green blood splattered everywhere, corroding deep pits into the ground wherever it landed. The Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider’s massive body seemed to shrink as all eight of its legs were blown clean off.

A huge, bloody hole was blasted open in its abdomen, revealing the remaining half of the Dragon’s Roar Sword. The sword fragment suddenly trembled, let out a sorrowful whine, and shattered into pieces.

The Dragon’s Roar Sword had completely self-destructed, and the power of its detonation was plain to see.

"Pfft—"

Shen Xingchen staggered, spitting out two consecutive mouthfuls of blood. His face turned deathly pale, and he swayed, on the verge of collapsing. His aura was in total chaos. With his Lifebound Magical Treasure destroyed, his Cultivation had suffered a severe backlash, leaving him grievously injured.

"WHINE..."

The Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider lay collapsed on the ground, its aura faint. The immense pressure it had been exerting on them vanished. Dark green blood pooled beneath it, and its Fire of Life flickered weakly. Its spear-like legs struggled to push its body up, only to collapse again with a heavy thud.

"You were so high and mighty before. What’s the matter? Not so tough now?"

Gasping for breath, Shen Xingchen looked up at the dying Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider and couldn’t stop sneering.

"Human, you..."

The Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider’s voice was feeble. It glared at Shen Xingchen through half-lidded eyes, its raw hatred on full display.

"This is where it ends."

Yu Changsheng spoke, his voice cold. He watched the fallen Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider as he advanced, stepping forward slowly. The golden light around him flared again, coalescing into a Golden Spear that radiated a sharp aura.

"No, human! You can have the Nascent Building Grass! Just spare my life..."

"Too late."

Yu Changsheng was unmoved. He took two steps, landing lightly on the Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider’s body. Without a moment’s hesitation, he plunged the Golden Spear in his hand deep into its flesh and gave it a vicious twist...

RRRIP!

Blood sprayed. The Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider defiantly raised its head for one last look at Yu Changsheng. Then, the light in its eyes vanished, and its body slumped to the ground, lifeless.

"*Phew*... It’s finally dead."

Shen Xingchen panted heavily. Seeing the Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider’s Vitality completely extinguished, a weary smile touched his lips. He suddenly staggered, but fortunately, Zhang Tianwen was quick enough to catch and support him, keeping him from falling.

"Are you okay?"

Zhang Tianwen asked, his eyes filled with concern and gratitude. He took out a jade-green Elixir and fed it to Shen Xingchen.

Shen Xingchen shook his head with a wry smile. After steadying his breathing for a moment, a trickle of crimson blood escaped the corner of his mouth, but he swallowed it back down.

"It’s nothing life-threatening. But with the Dragon’s Roar Sword completely destroyed... my losses in this fight were immense."

The Dragon’s Roar Sword had been with Shen Xingchen for more than two years. It was already a Top-grade Magical Treasure, and he had spent a long time nurturing it. Therefore, it was no surprise that the power of its complete self-detonation was enough to grievously wound the Profound Yin Poison Soul Spider.
