Chapter 279: Chapter 247: Clash of the Two Tigers (Part 2)

A nearly imperceptible glint flashed in Zhang Tianwen’s eyes. As he waved a hand to block Yang Chengxu’s strike, lightning crackled around his leg, and he aimed a kick at Yang Chengxu’s groin.

CRACKLE CRACKLE...

Yang Chengxu said nothing, only offering a faint smile. He leaped into the air to dodge the attack, then immediately dove back down. With a wave of his hand, the rain filling the sky instantly froze into countless Ice Needles, which trembled in unison before shooting toward Zhang Tianwen.

Zhang Tianwen remained calm. His hands, like blades shimmering with electric light, drew a circle before him. A purple barrier instantly materialized around him, deflecting every last Ice Needle.

The Ice Needles shattered, and the strands of residual Thunderbolt coalesced into ropes of lightning that snaked toward Yang Chengxu.

"Enough of this. Time to end this quickly."

Yang Chengxu waved a hand and glanced at his Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon. In that instant, an intense cyan light erupted from the sub-dragon, rapidly engulfing the entire fighting stage.

"Celestial Cyan Day and Moonlight!"

Within the cyan light, a bright moon and a scorching sun slowly materialized, bobbing up and down as they radiated light and heat.

"A Domain? You’re not the only one who has one!"

Zhang Tianwen’s Purple Thunder dissipated without a trace beneath the cyan light. He gave a cold smile. As he gazed at the cyan glow filling the sky, an earth-shattering roar, accompanied by a faint white light, washed over the entire stage.

"Domain, Tiger Roar Heaven and Earth!"

The ferocious tiger’s roar generated intense sonic waves, the ripples sweeping out to form a tempest. A white light bloomed, instantly forming a stalemate with the Celestial Cyan Day and Moonlight released by the Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon. The two forces clashed, each enveloping half of the stage.

"ROAR!!!"

As the earth-shattering roar echoed, the Divine Might Spirit Tiger’s already muscular frame swelled, growing even larger. Its beastly eyes snapped open, and the Domain around it surged, causing the very atmosphere to churn.

From afar, a flicker of apprehension and surprise crossed Yang Chengxu’s face.

’Worthy of being called the top genius. He really has a few tricks. I can’t afford to underestimate him.’

Yang Chengxu let out a soft breath and smiled, his tone surprisingly relaxed.

Meanwhile, the minds of the spectators had gone completely blank, their eyes filled with reverence.

For a moment, the arena was chaos. Winds howled and clouds scudded across the sky as sand and stones were kicked into the air. Within the cyan light, the sun and moon drifted, and the silhouette of the Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon flickered in and out of view between them.

On the other side, the Divine Might Spirit Tiger’s form swelled once more, growing to a size that even dwarfed the Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon. It let out a deafening roar as sonic waves swept forth, and its own Domain crashed against the Celestial Cyan Day and Moonlight.

"Celestial Cyan Annihilation Claw!"

The Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon shrieked, refusing to fall behind. Its draconic body shot forward. The cyan talons on its six claws expanded monstrously in the wind, becoming six spinning blades of cyan light. Like sabers of lightning, they sliced through the air, carrying an aura of total extinction as they flew toward the Divine Might Spirit Tiger.

"Divine Radiance!"

The Divine Might Spirit Tiger showed no fear in the face of this attack. With a swish of its tail, it pushed off with all four limbs. Its enormous body became its greatest weapon. A faint white light enveloped it, strengthening it as it swiped with full force at the six cyan blades!

In a flash, the cyan blades shattered. The Divine Might Spirit Tiger then lunged forward, proactively engaging the Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon. Its movements were grand and sweeping, a perfect display of brute force overwhelming refined technique.

For a time, the Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon found itself on the defensive.

Yang Chengxu’s expression darkened. After creating some distance from Zhang Tianwen, his eyes showed a flicker of indecision. A moment later, however, he suddenly smiled and spoke softly.

"You’re even more troublesome than I thought. It seems I can’t win without going all out. In that case, I won’t hold back any longer."

With that said, Yang Chengxu hesitated no more. He performed a Finger Technique, and a stream of light connected to his Inner Realm. A draconic silhouette, vaguely similar to the Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon, materialized on the stage.

"Oh? Finally willing to bring out your other tamed beast? I was waiting for it."

Upon seeing this, Zhang Tianwen halted his attack. With no trace of fear in his eyes, he shook his head with a smile and also waved his hand. A stream of light appeared, coalescing into the phantom of a great beast.

"ROAR!!!"

Another violent Dragon’s Roar shook the heavens and the earth. This time, however, it did not come from the Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon. A closer look revealed a serpentine dragon that bore a strong resemblance to the Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon, but its Dragon Scales were pitch-black. It had eight claws and four horns sprouting from its head.

"Celestial Shadow Dragon!"

Zhang Tianwen’s expression grew grim. A draconic pressure, even more vast and pure than that of the Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon, suddenly exploded outward!

"It’s actually a Celestial Shadow Dragon!"

"*Hiss*... To think Yang Chengxu had a trump card like this! It’s over for Zhang Tianwen."

"That’s Senior Brother Yang for you, always so full of surprises!"

...

The moment the Celestial Shadow Dragon appeared, before Zhang Tianwen could show any reaction, the disciples below the stage had already erupted, gasping in shock with a wide range of expressions.

"Celestial Shadow Dragon... Yang Chengxu..."

On the high platform, Mo Pengchen shot to his feet, staring fixedly at Yang Chengxu. For the first time, a grave look flickered deep within his eyes.

"Peak Master Mu, you certainly play your cards close to your chest. To think a near-legendary beast like this was kept hidden until now."

After a long moment, Mo Pengchen took a deep breath and suddenly smiled, his expression returning to its usual calm. He glanced at the Celestial Shadow Dragon, its fluctuating power obvious, and spoke coolly to Mu Yongxian.

"It was simply my disciple’s own good fortune. I don’t have the ability to procure such a thing for him. This Celestial Shadow Dragon’s evolution is incomplete. If it weren’t for the immense pressure from your disciple, he would never have summoned it."

Mu Yongxian shook his head, a mysterious glint flashing across his face, his expression somewhat complicated.

"Fair enough." Mo Pengchen nodded slightly. After a moment of thought, he squinted at Mu Yongxian for a while before finally turning his gaze back to the Celestial Shadow Dragon.

This time, he immediately noticed something unusual. He fell silent for a moment, pondering.

’A Celestial Shadow Dragon? It’s incomplete... its evolution is only half-finished and unstable. Still, even in this state, it’s astonishing enough.’

On the stage, the Celestial Shadow Dragon’s form flickered in and out of existence, moving like a phantom. Its draconic pressure was majestic and vast, yet one could faintly sense an undercurrent of instability.

Yang Chengxu’s gaze followed the weaving movements of the Celestial Shadow Dragon before settling on Zhang Tianwen again. "I didn’t want to summon the Celestial Shadow Dragon," he said softly. "It’s at a critical point in its evolution. To have forced my hand like this... Zhang Tianwen, you are very impressive."

After his initial surprise, Zhang Tianwen’s expression quickly returned to calm. "Brother Yang, your fortune truly runs deep, and your reserves are astonishing," he said coolly. "First a Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon, and now a Celestial Shadow Dragon." As he spoke, he waved his hand, and the form of his other tamed beast solidified into existence.

"But, two dragons playing with a pearl is a fine sight. Let’s see how my two tigers fare in a proper battle of dragon versus tiger!"

Having said his piece, Zhang Tianwen let out a soft chuckle. His gaze hardened as he let out a low shout.

"Witness the power of the Thunderbolt! Thunder-controlling Spirit Tiger!"

"RUMBLE!!!"

As he shouted, a bolt of lightning suddenly ripped through the dreary, rain-filled sky. The heavens trembled as the clouds were torn asunder. The Thunderbolt struck unerringly toward a point dozens of yards above the stage before dissipating, leaving only crackling, intertwining arcs of electricity. And from within that web of lightning, the Thunder-controlling Spirit Tiger made its dramatic entrance!

Arcs of lightning and thunderbolts raged across its fur. Its purplish-cyan stripes pulsed with an ancient aura. It took a single, light step forward with one of its powerful forelimbs.

A tempest immediately kicked up, arcs of electricity swelling into raw thunder, echoing the lightning still flashing in the sky above. The "王" character for "king" on its forehead looked even more imperious, formed from crackling purple Thunderbolt that shimmered with light. Befitting its royal status, it was both domineering and worthy of reverence. Most eye-catching of all, however, was its tail; as it swayed gently, ten complete rings formed from Thunderbolt bobbed up and down.

"ROAR!!!"

Upon its appearance, it threw its head back and let out a long howl. The powerful sonic waves echoed in all directions, shaking the very clouds. A domineering, Heaven-reaching aura erupted from it, complementing that of the Divine Might Spirit Tiger. Together, they confronted the draconic pressure from the Celestial Cyan Sub-Dragon and Celestial Shadow Dragon, their combined might not the slightest bit inferior!

"Divine Might Spirit Tiger, Thunder-controlling Spirit Tiger! You really did have a trump card as well!"

Yang Chengxu’s eyes narrowed as he watched this unfold. He gave a short laugh, his fists clenching tightly. There wasn’t a trace of fear on his face—only a blazing, unquenchable will to fight.
