I Summon Female Knights
Chapter 46: Special Event
The towering Void Drake let out a deafening roar that shook the floating island’s very foundation, its jagged obsidian plates vibrating with dark, crackling energy. Before Raphael could launch himself forward, a blinding flurry of translucent system windows shattered the air directly between him and the monstrous beast.

Raphael’s eyes narrowed as he absorbed the sudden shift in metrics. A C-Tier dungeon escalation meant the threat density had just multiplied exponentially.
"A C-Tier variant..." Raphael muttered, his voice suppressing the jolt of shock that spiked through his chest. "No time to overthink it."
He swiped the floating text away with a single sweep, locking his gaze back on the abomination. The Void Drake did not give him time to adjust. It opened its massive, tooth-lined maw, and a concentrated beam of pitch-black, corrupted breath erupted from its throat, tearing across the stone plateau toward Raphael like a localized apocalypse.
"Move!" Raphael roared.
He threw his frame to the right, kicking off the stone with every ounce of kinetic force his legs could produce. The black breath beam struck the exact spot where he had been standing a millisecond prior, instantly vaporizing the ancient rock floor into fine, dark dust and leaving a gaping, smoking trench across the island. The sheer heat and corruptive pressure of the near-miss clipped his shoulder, scorching the sleeve of his heavy hoodie and leaving a burning black stain across his Ashen-Vanguard cuirass.
Raphael didn’t break his momentum. He executed a swift, low roll, brought his greatsword around his back, and channeled a dense, micro-thin layer of the Sovereign’s Veil across the blade. He closed the distance to the beast’s left flank in a heartbeat, springing upward to drive a powerful vertical cleave straight into its rear leg.
CLANG-SPARK!
The broad iron sword hit the Void Drake’s obsidian scales, sparks exploding into the air as if he had struck a mountain of solid tungsten. The impact was so severe that the shockwave traveled backward down the blade, tearing the skin between Raphael’s thumb and forefinger and sending a sharp, numbing vibration straight up his arms. The beast’s scales were nearly impenetrable to standard physical strikes, absorbing the kinetic momentum and converting it into dark, crackling electricity that leaped along the steel toward his hands.
Before Raphael could pull his weapon back, the Void Drake’s massive spiked tail whipped through the air with the speed of a breaking whip.
BOOM!
The heavy tail struck Raphael squarely in the chest.
The Ashen-Vanguard breastplate buckled under the terrifying force. Raphael felt three of his ribs crack with a sickening pop as he was launched backward like a cannonball. He smashed through two floating stone pillars, skidding sixty feet across the slick rock floor before coming to a violent halt at the very edge of the plateau.
Blood erupted from his mouth, staining his dark bangs and dripping onto the stone floor. His vision swam, dark spots flickering across his sight as his lungs struggled to draw in air.
’It’s too fast... too dense...’ Raphael thought, his heart hammering against his cracked ribcage.
The Void Drake turned its serpentine neck, its gaping maw opening wide as it gathered a second ball of compressed void energy, aiming it directly at his broken, prone body. Raphael tried to push himself up, but his left arm caved beneath his weight. Death hovered less than a second away.
"Not while I draw breath, Sovereign," Vanessa’s silk-soft voice resonated through the violent winds.
From the dark shadows under the Drake’s front claws, a dozen massive, pitch-black gravitational chains erupted from the ground. They wrapped tightly around the beast’s neck and jaws, binding its head down to the stone floor with a deafening CRACK!
The gathered void breath detonated inside the monster’s mouth, causing its head to jerk violently as smoke poured from its nostrils.
"Now, Raphael! Strike!" Vanessa shouted, her relic-staff vibrating violently as her face grew pale under the immense strain of holding a C-Tier draconic variant in place.
The brief reprieve was all Raphael needed.
As the pain flared through his chest, something fundamental clicked inside his core. His total system compatibility surged under the life-or-death pressure. His godlike neural processing speed recalibrated, breaking down the Void Drake’s armor metrics, its attack patterns, and the subtle flow of corrupted mana moving through its dark heart.
He didn’t just need strength; he needed to integrate Tier 3’s Kinetic Transition to its absolute limit, using the monster’s own momentum against it.
Raphael forced himself to his feet, ignoring the agony in his ribs. He resheathed his greatsword and drew the heavy battle axe with his right hand, keeping his left hand free. He channeled every drop of pure, unrefined mana into the axe’s armor-piercing rear spike until it glowed with a blinding, high-frequency silvery-violet light.
He lunged forward, blurring across the ruined floor.
The Void Drake shattered Vanessa’s gravitational chains with a violent thrash of its neck, turning its hollow, dark sockets toward Raphael as it snapped its massive jaws shut.
This time, Raphael didn’t dodge away, but dove directly into the beast’s open guard.
As the massive jaw snapped down toward his head, Raphael planted his left palm against the beast’s lower snout, deploying the Sovereign’s Veil to absorb the crushing bite force for a fraction of a second. He used the momentum of the closing jaw as a springboard, vaulting himself up onto the Void Drake’s serpentine neck.
"Die!" Raphael roared, his voice shaking the void.
He reversed his grip on the battle axe and drove the high-frequency, mana-infused rear spike straight down into the soft, unarmored seam between two obsidian neck plates.
CRACK-BOOM!
The spike bit deep into the monster’s flesh, piercing straight into its dark core pathways. The compressed, silvery-violet mana detonated inside the wound like a directional charge.
The Void Drake let out a horrific, dying screech that echoed across the entire sky-shattered domain. Its massive, forty-meter body thrashed wildly, crashing against the stone plateau as black, corrupted blood geyser-erupted from its neck, burning the rock floor where it fell.
Raphael held on with one hand, buried up to his wrist in the wound, while driving his bare left fist repeatedly into the rift, discharging point-blank blasts of raw, compressed Veil energy into its inner organs.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
With a final, violent tremor, the Void Drake’s massive frame stiffened, its smoking wings collapsing uselessly onto the stone floor. The crackling crimson lightning faded from its obsidian plates, leaving the beast lying dead and motionless across the shattered island.
Raphael dislodged his axe and slid down the monster’s neck, landing heavily on his feet. He stumbled, catching himself against his greatsword, his chest heaving raggedly as blood dripped from his chin onto his scorched hoodie.

As the system notifications flared, a sudden, ominous tremor shook the central dark castle in the distance. High above the main spire, the purple clouds split wide open, revealing a colossal, ancient figure looming over the pinnacle throne room.
Raphael wiped the blood from his mouth with the back of his gauntlet, his luminous silver eyes burning through his messy dark hair as he looked up at the looming shadow of the Old King. A dark, cold smile touched his lips. He was bleeding, broken, and pushed to the absolute edge of death, but he had never felt more alive.
