Chapter 380: Chapter 181: Flash Crash

Time slipped away silently.

Before anyone knew it, it was August 17th.

It was also the third day after the Yangcheng Feed Industry Conference had ended.

Company A and Company B, two of the four major grain traders, collaborated and sent an acquisition team to Shanmei City.

The acquisition team included Huang Changqing, the CEO of Company A’s Greater China Region who had just attended the Yangcheng Feed Industry Conference, and Cade McCarthy, Company B’s business investigation manager.

When the two arrived together in Magong Town.

Jiang Miao didn’t come out to greet them. Only Jiang Haibo and his assistant went to meet them.

Although they had asked Jiang Haibo for a meeting with Jiang Miao at the feed industry conference, Jiang Miao had no interest in seeing them. After all, those who walk different paths cannot make plans together. They were destined to never see eye-to-eye, so why waste the effort?

In the past, Jiang Miao might have put on a show and feigned civility with them.

Now, he couldn’t even be bothered to act.

He’d rather spend a few hours on technical research or handling company affairs than waste his breath on them.

Inside Hailufeng Company’s temporary headquarters.

Although Huang Changqing and Cade McCarthy didn’t show it, they were extremely displeased at not being able to meet Jiang Miao.

After all, in the past, whenever they invoked the name of ABCD, every private enterprise in Cyrus would bow and scrape.

To be treated so dismissively by a fledgling young man now truly made them feel uncomfortable and furious.

However, Huang Changqing kept a smile on his face. He looked at Jiang Haibo and asked, "General Manager Jiang, our companies have come with sincerity and goodwill, hoping to reach a cooperative agreement with yours."

"General Manager Huang, if you’re still thinking what you were last time, then I don’t believe there’s any need to continue this discussion," Jiang Haibo said, unconcerned with their attitude.

He was well aware of Hailufeng Company’s current strength and influence. Besides, the company didn’t have much direct international business. ABCD’s arrogance elsewhere couldn’t shake Hailufeng Company to its core. At most, they could get Europe and America to suppress Hailufeng Company’s exports of eel fry and White Truffles.

A year ago, had ABCD gone all out, they might have had a chance to stifle Hailufeng Company’s growth. But now, it was too late.

"Jiang, I believe there’s nothing that can’t be negotiated. We’re very optimistic about your company. How about 10 billion for a 30% stake?" Cade McCarthy said, adjusting his glasses.

Jiang Haibo deliberately put on a surprised expression. "Oh? Ten billion US Dollars for a 30% stake?"

"Er? Jiang, I said Hua Yuan," Cade McCarthy cursed inwardly. ’Why don’t you just ask for a hundred billion US Dollars? You’re completely shameless.’

"Ten billion Hua Yuan?" Jiang Haibo sneered. "Sir, do you have any idea what our company’s revenue was this month?"

Huang Changqing could already hear the malice and contempt in Jiang Haibo’s words, but he didn’t get angry. Instead, he explained with a smile, "General Manager Jiang, you can’t just look at current profitability. You must also consider future growth. If you accept our investment, your company’s expansion into the international market will become exceptionally smooth—dozens of times faster than if you did it on your own. That is the true value of bringing in a strategic investor."

"Heh, are you threatening me?" Jiang Haibo’s gaze turned cold.

Huang Changqing’s expression turned cold as well. His tone, filled with confidence and condescension, was unmistakable. "General Manager Jiang, you’re a smart man. You should know that the international market isn’t so easy to navigate. We welcome friends for a win-win outcome. Therefore, I hope we can become friends, not enemies."

"Then allow me to officially inform you today: we will only ever be enemies. You can get the hell out," Jiang Haibo said, unceremoniously kicking them out.

"You...!" It was the first time Cade McCarthy had faced such an arrogant attitude, and his breathing immediately became ragged.

Huang Changqing, on the other hand, remained unfazed. He stood up with a cold smile. "I hope you won’t regret this."

"Heh, regret? You really think you’re somebody special? You’re just a dog borrowing its master’s might—a piece of trash!" Jiang Haibo sneered, directly attacking his identity.

Huang Changqing’s fists clenched. If they weren’t inside Hailufeng Company, he would have definitely punched the man in the face.

The group left in a hurry.

Watching the backs of those guys as they departed.

Jiang Haibo thought to himself, ’They really know how to hold it in. I thought I could use this opportunity to get them sent in for questioning for a few days. Oh well, those guys won’t be able to act so arrogantly for much longer anyway.’

"General Manager Jiang, should I delete the video?" the assistant who had been standing behind him whispered.

"Delete it." Since his ploy to bait them hadn’t worked, there was no reason to keep the footage.

As Huang Changqing, Cade McCarthy, and the others drove away from Magong Town, their faces were as black as the bottom of a wok the moment they got in the car.

Cade McCarthy, a man with white supremacist tendencies, especially, erupted into a string of curses in English. "Damned bastards! F*ck you! I’ll never let you get away with this! Sons of bitches..."

"Alright, Cade, there’s no need to be so angry." Huang Changqing took a sip of ice water, calming his own frustration.

Cade McCarthy gritted his teeth. "Huang, we must report this to headquarters and retaliate viciously. Otherwise, they’ll think we’re a pushover."

"I know." Huang Changqing was not a forgiving man. After being so thoroughly insulted by Jiang Haibo, if he could just let it slide, he’d have to be a saint.

Cade McCarthy adjusted his glasses, a sinister smirk on his face. "A large part of their profits comes from eel fry and White Truffles. We need to have headquarters step in and lobby all parties to get those products banned."
