I Rebuilt FGO as a Tower Defense Game
Chapter 105: Quetzalcoatl
The post's content was extremely hardcore, with logic so rigorous it resembled an academic paper, instantly igniting a global carnival of conspiracy theories:
"Everyone, combining Gilgamesh's mockery from just now, I immediately went to check all the background information in Da Vinci's Workshop."
"I didn't know until I checked, but once I did, the results made my skin crawl!"
"First is Dr. Roman's resume! This seemingly ordinary medical uncle who smiles every day and loves strawberry cake has absolutely no birth records or any educational history from the Mages' Association before the year 2004 AD in Chaldea's top-secret archives!"
"He's like a ghost, appearing out of thin air and being parachuted in without warning to become the most trusted right-hand man of the extremely suspicious former director, Marisbury! A commoner—on what grounds?"
"Second is the foreshadowing regarding Lev!"
"Does everyone remember Professor Lev from the prologue? The traitor who threw the Director into the sea of fire! When Lev was destroying Chaldea, he fanatically referred to the mastermind as 'King'."
"Finally, and this is the most fatal piece of hard evidence!"
"Just now, Gilgamesh also said that Roman ran away because he was afraid of bearing the heavy responsibility of a 'King'! And he personally characterized it as 'The calamity that incinerated human history was born of you'!"
"A ghost without a past, an existence revered as 'King' by a traitor, and a man identified as the culprit by Gilgamesh!"
At the end of the post, Charles used blood-red bold font to write down that terrifying conclusion—one he had brainstormed through perfect over-interpretation, yet one that players across the internet were now convinced of:
"Dr. Roman is not a good person at all!"
"He is the one who incinerated human history, the final boss hiding in our rear playing a game of 'darkness under the lamp', and perhaps even the supreme leader of the Demon God Kings—the ultimate undercover villain!!!"
Boom!!! This well-reasoned deduction, where even the timeline fit perfectly, sent the players of the other world into an unprecedented frenzy.
"Holy crap! The more I think about it, the scarier it gets! We're out here fighting for our lives every day, and the final boss is actually making coffee for us in the monitoring room every day?!"
"I knew it! No wonder he likes to slack off so much! He's freaking observing our progress in secret so he can find a chance to kill us at any time!"
"The planners are too devious! First we had Lev bombing the base, and now we have the Doctor as a mole! Are there any good people left in Chaldea?!"
"Run, Mash, my waifu! Get away from that villainous uncle!"
Watching this near-boiling wave of "traitor hunting" on the internet, Oriole, sitting at the top of the real-world Chaldea Studio, laughed until he almost cried.
"Go ahead and curse. The harder you curse now, the more miserably you'll cry later."
Seeing those hardcore researchers in the forums completely baffled by the words "Fuyuki City Holy Grail War," only able to wildly guess based on the literal meaning, the smile on Oriole's lips grew even wider.
The players of Blue Star naturally didn't know what the "Holy Grail War" was, because that was the background setting belonging to the original Fate series.
And this massive information gap and sense of the unknown was exactly the effect Oriole wanted.
"There's no rush to explain yet. I'll wait until the first main story of FGO has completely laid out the 'Type-Moon' worldview and pushed the internet's hype to its peak..."
"At that time, I'll serve up prequels like Fate/stay night and Fate/Zero as large-scale VR single-player masterpieces or multi-path interactive movies to give the players of this world a proper lesson on the 'Holy Grail War'."
"Young Emiya's ideals, Kiritsugu's tragedy, Saber's oath... that will definitely be another dimensional strike sweeping across the entire web."
After silently sketching out a massive Type-Moon universe in his mind, Oriole retracted his thoughts and continued to look at the holographic screen, beginning to construct the next chapter of the main story to be updated.
Inside the game, the plot continued to advance.
To break the blockade of the Three Goddess Alliance, the player's party followed Gilgamesh's orders and headed to the Eridu jungle in the south to contact the [Goddess of the Forest] who ruled over that forest.
PD took Mash and carefully shuttled through the dense primeval forest.
"Brothers, be careful. I heard this Goddess of the Forest is a demon who kills without blinking, abducting a hundred humans from Uruk every day to be slaughtered at her temple."
PD gripped his VR controller nervously. "I'm guessing she's probably a terrifying monster with three heads and poisonous snakes coiled all over her body."
Just then, a high-pitched and clear eagle's cry suddenly came from the sky!
"Justice from above—!!!"
Accompanied by a sunny, perhaps even overly lively female battle cry.
A stunning older sister with blonde hair and blue eyes, an extremely tall and hot figure, wearing breezy South American-style clothing and an exaggerated Quetzalcoatl headdress, leapt down from the sky in a textbook American wrestling pose!
Bang!
Her long, powerful thighs precisely clamped onto the neck of a massive Tyrannosaurus that happened to be passing by.
With an incredibly violent mid-air rolling shoulder throw, she slammed the Tyrannosaurus's head directly into the dirt!
"Hola! Master of Chaldea from afar! We finally meet!"
As the Tyrannosaurus twitched, this goddess who had debuted in such a violent yet comical fashion turned her head and gave the dumbfounded PD a huge smile—one brighter than the South American sun and filled with endless approachability.
"I am Quetzalcoatl! Also known as the Winged Serpent God to you!"
"Oh my, finally some guests. I've been looking forward to testing my wrestling skills against you for a long time!"
Silence.
Not just the protagonist's party in the game, but the viewers in the entire livestream room collectively short-circuited the moment they saw this "brutal Goddess of the Forest."
"...Huh?"
PD's mouth hung open. "Wait... where's the cruel evil god? Where's the homicidal maniac? This... this is clearly just a sunny and cheerful airheaded big sister!"
The bullet chat also exploded instantly:
"Holy shit! Those long legs! That bright smile! This blonde big sister is totally my type!"
"What the hell, American wrestling?! A South American deity who not only speaks Spanish but is also a fanatic wrestling enthusiast?!"
"Gap moe! It's freaking gap moe again! She just shoulder-threw a dinosaur, hey!"
"How does this look like a villain? This is clearly a hot-blooded idiot!"
Just as the players were being stunned by Quetzalcoatl's infectious smile, the tactical sand table unfolded without warning.
"Alright! Since you're here to negotiate, let's use South American rules! Beat me, and I'll listen to you!"
Quetzalcoatl cracked her knuckles, letting out a series of pops, and stepped onto the sand table with a suffocating sense of pressure.
