Ch. 1450 - You Dare To Warn Me? Are You Even Worthy?
New Novel🪶
Zhuo Yuan was startled as well, he hadn’t expected Shangguan Xian’s strength to be so overwhelming.
Shangguan Xian turned around, her hand blazing with immortal spirit fire, and struck toward Zhuo Yuan.
The flames burned through the void; the white spiritual fire looked like strands of divine mist drifting through the air.
Zhuo Yuan’s figure retreated rapidly.
“You’ve got some skill,” he snorted, unwilling to admit defeat.
Fire ignited in his palms, forming a massive fireball that filled half the sky.
Such a commotion quickly drew the attention of others on the sixteenth floor.
The elders of the Wang, Lu, and Zhuo families had all been accompanying Dragon Lord.
When Zhuo Ruoyan, the patriarch of the Zhuo Imperial Clan, saw the battle, he snorted coldly.
“This unfilial child,” he said. “On such an important day, he dares to brawl in the Paradise Tower. I’ll go teach him a lesson myself.”
“It’s fine,” Dragon Lord waved his hand, smiling. “They’re young. Some conflict is normal. As long as they don’t go too far, it’s nothing serious.”
Zhuo Ruoyan could only nod in response.
Meanwhile, Shangguan Xian’s flames and Zhuo Yuan’s fire clashed and exploded together.
The difference in strength was instantly clear.
Shangguan Xian was, after all, a Grand Emperor, while Zhuo Yuan was merely at the God Meridian Realm, he could never be her match.
As her celestial fire devoured everything, Zhuo Yuan was sent flying.
“That fool Zhuo Yuan,” Wang Xian muttered. “Anyone who can enter the sixteenth floor must have real skill. Paradise Tower’s rules aren’t so lax that just anyone can make it up here.”
“Zhuo Yuan’s always been arrogant, maybe this will teach him a lesson,” Lu Ming replied with a nod.
“But from the looks of it, Miss Shangguan intends to kill him,” Wang Xian said with some worry.
“Relax. Dragon Lord and Patriarch Zhuo are both here. No one’s going to die,” Lu Ming said with a laugh. He still thought things were under control and watched with amusement.
Wang Xian, however, grew more anxious.
He turned to Xu Zimo and said, “Young Master Xu, perhaps you should persuade your friend. A little punishment is fine, but if this escalates, it won’t end well for you.”
“What’s the harm?” Xu Zimo said casually.
“The Zhuo Imperial Clan holds great power in Ocean Sage City,” Wang Xian explained. “You and your companion don’t have any local backing.”
“No matter,” Xu Zimo smiled. “The bigger the scene, the more interesting it gets.”
Seeing his attitude, Wang Xian could only shake his head and sigh.
The battle between Shangguan Xian and Zhuo Yuan was nearing its end.
From start to finish, Shangguan Xian completely suppressed him.
Her blazing immortal fire consumed the entire void; Zhuo Yuan could only dodge helplessly, his body covered in burns and wounds.
Finally, driven into a corner with nowhere left to run, he screamed, “Father! Save me!”
With a loud boom, the descending fiery palm above him was shattered, forcing Shangguan Xian to take several steps back.
She looked up slightly, and saw before her a middle-aged man in a blue robe. Zhuo Ruoyan, the patriarch of the Zhuo Imperial Clan.
“So young, and already so bloodthirsty,” Zhuo Ruoyan said coldly. “Youthful disputes need only a lesson, not a life.”
His expression was sour. Before so many distinguished guests, every notable figure in Ocean Sage City, his son, the Zhuo Imperial Clan’s prodigy, had been utterly humiliated.
He had originally not wanted to intervene, but since Zhuo Yuan’s life was at risk, he had no choice.
“You intend to protect him?” Shangguan Xian asked indifferently.
“Little girl, that’s enough,” Zhuo Ruoyan said calmly.
But Shangguan Xian ignored him and reached toward Zhuo Yuan again.
Terrified, Zhuo Yuan darted behind his father like a frightened bird.
“How reckless,” Zhuo Ruoyan growled coldly, his patience gone.
He struck forward, his flaming palm colliding with Shangguan Xian’s attack.
Both retreated several steps.
A flicker of surprise crossed Zhuo Ruoyan’s face, her strength was beyond his expectations.
At such a young age, Shangguan Xian was already nearly his equal. Given time, she might surpass him entirely.
The thought stirred murderous intent in his heart.
Since they had already become enemies, he couldn’t allow her to continue growing.
His flames erupted violently, the power around him booming like thunder, melting the very air.
The Zhuo Imperial Clan was known for its mastery of fist techniques, and now blazing gauntlets of fire formed around his hands.
With a surge of blazing force, he lunged toward Shangguan Xian, his punches shattering the void. The shadows of his fists overlapped, humming through the air.
But Shangguan Xian met his assault with fluid precision.
She didn’t clash head-on, instead deflecting his blows with skillful, subtle power.
After more than a dozen exchanges, neither side had gained the upper hand.
Zhuo Ruoyan’s frustration grew.
Finally, he called out, “Brother Lu, Brother Wang, lend me your strength! Help me subdue this girl, and I’ll see you handsomely rewarded!”
His words were shameless.
Three patriarchs of Ocean Sage City’s leading families joining forces against one young woman, it was disgraceful no matter the outcome.
But Zhuo Ruoyan no longer cared about appearances.
Hearing his plea, the two other family heads smiled faintly.
The Wang patriarch, Wang Xiongying, and the Lu patriarch, Lu Fengdong, exchanged a look.
“That’s easily done,” Lu Fengdong laughed loudly, stepping into the air.
Wang Xiongying followed behind.
“I think you two should stay out of this,” a lazy voice sounded suddenly.
A burst of immense force thundered through the air before either could react, sending both men flying backward.
When they stabilized themselves and looked up, they saw Xu Zimo seated calmly on a chair, watching the battle as if it were an entertaining play.
“Who are you?” Wang Xiongying demanded darkly.
“You can think of me as her companion,” Xu Zimo said with a faint smile.
“Leave now, and we’ll let bygones be bygones,” Lu Fengdong said, narrowing his eyes. “Don’t get yourself involved in this mess.”
Xu Zimo raised his right hand.
Vast spirit energy gathered in his palm, and in an instant, his giant hand shot forward.
Lu Fengdong didn’t even have time to resist. He felt an overwhelming pressure crush down on him; he couldn’t move an inch.
Like a helpless chick, he was caught in Xu Zimo’s grasp.
“You dare to warn me? Are you even worthy?” Xu Zimo said with a laugh.
Everyone around was stunned.
Lu Fengdong, patriarch of the Lu Imperial Clan, one of the most powerful men in Ocean Sage City, was utterly powerless in Xu Zimo’s hand.
