Chapter 824: Chapter 767: You Are Ruthless!

The fear in Xie Jingshan’s heart made the Fat Golden Crow above him, and the Fat Huo Dou and Fat Wind Fox on his shoulders, tremble and cower.

But the colder and more ruthless Lu Nanzhi’s gaze became, the more a fire in Xie Jingshan’s heart wanted to erupt.

Where there is oppression, there is resistance!

"I’m fighting you to the end!"

Xie Jingshan, in a fit of rage, swung his sword again. The overwhelming fire waves surged and rolled back, as Xie Jingshan dashed forward on the waves to directly attack Lu Nanzhi.

Lu Nanzhi smiled subtly, unsheathing her sword to counter him.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In the center of the grassland, the wind howled furiously, as fire and ice fiercely intertwined.

The sea of fire surged, with the black dog Xiaori roaring at the sun.

The blizzard raged, as the Ice Simurgh soared in the sky!

The two figures continuously collided amidst the raging aftermath, sparks flying, momentum immense; the entire grassland was mercilessly ravaged once again, littered with terrifying sword marks.

Fire can subdue ice; ice can equally subdue fire.

Lu Nanzhi gave it her all, and Xie Jingshan also used his lifelong skills; neither employed tactics but fought with full force, head-on.

The momentum of this fierce battle was no less intense than the previous duel between Jiang Yuebai and Pei Shengyue.

Outside the field, there was silence; all ears were filled with the resounding booms.

Zhao Benlei, having somewhat recovered from his injuries, stood among Pei Shengyue’s group, his brows furrowed, watching the arena intently.

In his younger days, he fought Lu Nanzhi and conceded defeatedly, but he was never quite satisfied with losing to Xie Jingshan, feeling that Xie Jingshan had won by trickery.

But right now, seeing Xie Jingshan and Lu Nanzhi fully unleash their strengths, battling evenly in the arena, Zhao Benlei’s dissatisfaction towards Xie Jingshan gradually waned, even feeling a surge of excitement to challenge Xie Jingshan again.

On Jiang Yuebai’s side, they all felt anxious for Lu Nanzhi and Xie Jingshan; they were friends, not wishing to see either lose, but once in the arena, there must be one winner and one loser.

Lu Nanzhi’s Xuanming True Water was sharp and murderous, while Xie Jingshan’s Golden Crow Fire was equally strong, heavily restraining Lu Nanzhi.

Given the current situation, even Jiang Yuebai did not know what the outcome would be.

Lu Nanzhi had been battling fiercely in the Shaking Light Realm, the Sword Cultivation Holy Land for years, while Xie Jingshan had once been on the frontline of the Human and Demon Clans battlefield, blood-soaked, practicing arduously.

Both of their growths were rapid, not inferior to Jiang Yuebai at all.

Though fire and water are difficult to coexist, the resoluteness and killing intent belonging to sword cultivators in them converged above their heads.

The fierce battle lasted an entire hour, with the aura of ice and fire around them gradually weakening. The Fat Golden Crow knocked over the Ice Simurgh, while the Fat Huo Dou opened its mouth to spit out a gigantic fireball, striking the Ice Simurgh.

Boom!

Fiery light rained down like shooting stars, while the Fat Wind Fox transformed into a green beam, wrapping around Xie Jingshan, as the two instantly parted.

Amidst the falling rain of fire, the two held their swords across their chests, drawing in all surrounding power into their swords.

On one side, an icy world.

On the other, a sea of fire spreading far and wide.

As their eyes raised, their dark pupils contained only the other’s figure. As the myriad rays of light gathered at the tip of their swords, both simultaneously leapt, trailing afterimages, swords in hand, charging at the other.

Zheng!

In a mere instant, the two passed each other, the clash of metal reverberating through the heavens, violently shaking the Protective Great Array under the sound waves.

The world fell silent, everyone holding their breath, eyes glued to the two who had exchanged positions, back to back, in the arena.

Puff!

Xie Jingshan, covered in frost, spat out a mouthful of blood, stumbling to kneel, supporting himself with his sword.

Blood continually gushed from his chest; he looked down, finding his clothes along with his inner armor ripped open by Lu Nanzhi’s sword, even seeing a hideous crack on his breastbone.

Just a little more, and Lu Nanzhi would have cleaved even his bone apart.

She was still as ruthless as ever!

Upon seeing Xie Jingshan’s condition, everyone raised their heads to look at Lu Nanzhi.

She slowly sheathed her sword, standing straight, back facing everyone, her black hair flying as she reached to touch her neck.

Spreading her hand, there was a hint of red blood on Lu Nanzhi’s fingertip, with a streak of red blooming on her fair neck.

But it was merely a scratch, because Xie Jingshan had withdrawn his Sword Qi at the last moment.

The cold glow in Lu Nanzhi’s eyes faded, a hint of a smile tugged at her lips; she did not turn around but swiftly returned her sword to its scabbard.

"Xie Jingshan, you won!"

After speaking, Lu Nanzhi strode out of the arena, full of spirit, hardly resembling a loser.

Xie Jingshan, in disbelief, raised his head, his eyes widened, staring at Lu Nanzhi’s retreating figure.

"What did you say, say it again? Lu Nanzhi, stop right there!"

Lu Nanzhi did not stop, Jiang Yuebai stepped forward to meet her, the corners of his eyes carrying a knowing, unspoken smile.

Lu Nanzhi’s last sword stroke deliberately lowered by half an inch, or Xie Jingshan’s head might not have been saved.

Xie Jingshan sat heavily on the ground, clutching his wildly beating heart, simultaneously spitting blood and laughing, unable to believe he had actually defeated someone he once considered unbeatable.

Despite sensing something was amiss, Xie Jingshan was still overwhelmed by sheer joy, as the fears of youth dispersed like smoke.

At that moment, heavens and earth surged, with a vast amount of Spiritual Energy suddenly converging upon the arena.

Jiang Yuebai, surprised, widened his eyes, catching Xie Jingshan’s baffled gaze.

The Spiritual Energy ignored Xie Jingshan’s wishes, flooding into him, as he blinked dazedly.

Jiang Yuebai, exasperated by his obliviousness, shouted angrily, "You idiot, you’re about to break through, hurry up and circulate your internal energy!!!"

Shen Huaxi chuckled, shaking his head, and hurriedly entered the arena to heal and protect Xie Jingshan, aiding him in breaking through to Late-Stage Nascent Soul.

Just as before, whenever Xie Jingshan was left injured by Lu Nanzhi, Shen Huaxi would always tidy up the aftermath.

As Xie Jingshan broke through on the field, Lu Nanzhi, with battle intent in her eyes, gazed toward Pei Shengyue in the distance.

Pei Shengyue, feeling Lu Nanzhi’s gaze, shivered unexpectedly.

Next, Lu Nanzhi and Pei Shengyue would compete for third place in the Qingyun Conference. Upon realizing this, Pei Shengyue became furious, wanting to curse the Heavenly Interence Sect for bullying, wondering why it was her turn to fight again?

Pei Shengyue felt like crying!
