Chapter 625: Chapter 625: In Any Case, It’s Not a Ghost

Claire Sinclair: Alright, we both know the deal. Don’t mess this up. Be careful.

Theo Rhodes: By the way, Master, I’m thinking of changing my number after this. How would I contact you then?

Claire Sinclair subconsciously glanced at her watch. It looked like she would have to ask Mr. Quincy for help.

Claire Sinclair: I’ll send you a little something in a couple of days. Tomorrow, stick to the plan.

Theo Rhodes: Okay, Master. Good night.

Claire Sinclair let out a soft breath. Just as she was about to message The Great Demon King Quincy to ask if he was coming home tonight, the door suddenly opened.

A distinguished figure walked in from outside, carrying an intimidating aura that seemed to drop the room’s temperature by several degrees.

Claire Sinclair’s heart leaped with joy. She stood up and went to greet him. "I was just about to ask if you were coming home tonight!"

Adrian Quincy reached out, wrapped his arm around his wife’s slender waist, and lowered his head to place a gentle kiss on her brow. "I’m taking a day off tomorrow," he said softly. "I’m not busy tonight."

"A whole day off!" For Claire Sinclair, that was an incredible luxury.

Adrian Quincy took her hand and walked into the dining room. "What did you make for dinner?"

"I didn’t think you were coming home, so I only made enough for myself. But I haven’t eaten much, I can give you half."

"I’ve already eaten. You eat more. For the baby."

Adrian Quincy took her by the shoulders and gently guided her into a chair, then turned and walked into the restroom. "I’m going to wash my hands. Just sit for a moment."

Claire Sinclair watched his retreating back, feeling a little dazed.

’I can’t believe we’ve been together for so long, and he’s still so gentle and considerate. Thinking about who I used to be, and then looking at my life now... it all feels a bit unreal.’

’No, I can’t overthink things.’

’I’ve read online that when a woman gets pregnant, she becomes very sensitive and prone to overthinking. Her temper can get out of control due to hormonal changes, leading to random outbursts and so on.’

’And after giving birth, it’s easy to get postpartum depression...’

’So, I can’t let my mind wander. I just need to think about him and the baby.’

Claire Sinclair let out a soft sigh and turned to stare at the restroom door. The moment he came out, she asked for a hug. "Mr. Quincy, I need a hug."

Adrian Quincy’s brow furrowed slightly. He walked up behind her, wrapped his arms around her from behind, and rested his chin on her shoulder.

"What’s wrong?"

"It’s nothing. I’m just afraid I’ll start overthinking, so I wanted a hug from you."

Adrian Quincy lowered his gaze slightly, released his arms, and sat down beside her. "You should eat first."

"Uh..." Claire Sinclair picked up her bowl and chopsticks and looked at the delicious food on the table. "Aren’t you eating?"

"Go on, you eat. I’ll watch you."

"Alright, then." Only then did Claire Sinclair start to eat.

After she had taken a few bites, Adrian Quincy finally spoke. "Is there anywhere you’d like to go tomorrow? I can take you."

"I can’t tomorrow. I have to go to work, and I can’t take the day off."

"Something important?" Adrian Quincy felt a pang of disappointment.

Claire Sinclair answered directly, "Theo Rhodes and I made a plan. Tomorrow is Friday, so we want to take advantage of the weekday to carry it out. I don’t want to drag it out for too long."

"What plan?"

"You know how Teacher Hartwell disappeared in the Woodforest Community? That kid, Theo Rhodes, has been dying to go in and check it out. I couldn’t talk him out of it, so I just made a plan with him to let him have a look inside."

Adrian Quincy was silent for a moment before saying in a low voice, "Theo Rhodes is very sharp. He’ll be fine going in."

Claire Sinclair couldn’t help but ask, "What do you think is in the Woodforest Community?"

"Whatever it is, it’s not a ghost."

"A place like that... it looks perfectly fine during the day, just like an abandoned town. I really can’t imagine what could be so terrifying inside."
