Chapter 152: Chapter 121: Becoming the Food Live Streaming Superstar Who Surpasses All Others
Before she started cooking, Shu Yao gave a simple summary on her stream.
"I’d like to thank Assistant Dan for picking out three interesting streamers for me and my fans."
As soon as she said this, the fans collectively started cheering for Assistant Dan in the live chat.
"All three streamers are very interesting, and each has their own strengths. Meng Meng is very dedicated and does a lot of prep work. Her hand-drawn recipes are beautiful and incredibly detailed. Anyone who needs them can ask her to share.
As for Churui... oh, dear..."
Speaking of "Churui Who Dreams of Becoming a Great Chef," Shu Yao couldn’t help but sigh, and the mood in the stream became a funny mix of concern and amusement.
She gave some heartfelt advice. "For now, you should probably stop dreaming of becoming a great chef. You’d be better off practicing your disaster technique instead of your cooking. For those of you who enjoy watching a good train wreck, you can still check out this streamer’s cooking videos. They’re actually pretty cathartic."
The stream chat fell over laughing.
"But Churui, don’t lose heart. Your unique disposition means you’re destined to face many twists and turns on this path. But who knows? Maybe one day you’ll find a special ingredient that only you can make delicious. Anything is possible, right?"
"As for the young man Mao Ziang, he’s a godsend for foodies with OCD. Watching him cook is a real treat. His fundamentals are excellent, especially his knife skills. I believe his cooking will only get better and better."
"Finally, I want to thank my assistant again for recommending these three streamers to me and everyone here." Shu Yao expressed her gratitude to Ke Dancheng once more.
Ke Dancheng felt a little awkward, but also quite pleased with himself.
’Mrs. Bao herself approved of those three streamers.’
’Doesn’t that just prove my judgment was pretty good after all?’
On this point, Shu Yao had a lot of faith in him.
After all, Ke Dancheng was her very first fan. Not only that, but with just a few detailed observations, he had seen through her "Mrs. Bao" persona.
’That kind of perception really is impressive.’
"Now, I’m really going to start cooking." ’Not even the sky falling can stop me!’
The stream chat was buzzing nonstop.
Right now, it wasn’t just Mrs. Bao’s fans watching the stream, but also streamers from all corners of the platform and the fans they’d brought along.
The popularity of "Mama Bao’s Private Kitchen" was still rising at a terrifying rate. From the moment the stream started, it had been number one on the trending list!
Her popularity, star-ranking, and every other metric were at an all-time high!
Ke Dancheng’s prediction had been too conservative. He had thought that after Mrs. Bao started streaming, her fan count would easily break twenty million, but pushing any higher would be a challenge.
But, Mrs. Bao’s current fan count had already surpassed thirty million!
And it was still climbing, still climbing!
This was only her third stream, and Mrs. Bao had already become a superstar in the food streaming world—surpassing all other streamers, creating unprecedented hype, and even influencing the landscape of the entire culinary world!
And Assistant Dan would hear no arguments to the contrary!
Before the camera, Shu Yao laid out the prepared side dishes.
"I heard from Assistant Dan that many of you in the group chat were saying the little whitefish is too expensive, and you wanted me to come up with some more affordable dishes. The first dish I’m making today uses an ingredient that isn’t just cheap—you can even get it for free at the fish market."
An exceptionally proactive fan immediately commented in the chat:
"Okay, I’m already on my way to Luoxing Port!"
"Watching Mrs. Bao’s stream from a Flying Machine is pretty awesome too!"
Shu Yao held up a puffy, air-filled fish bladder in one hand.
"This is it," Shu Yao said. "This is a fish’s swim bladder. It’s a type of offal. I’ve noticed that many fishmongers throw it away with the other guts when they’re cleaning fish. In truth, it’s an overlooked ingredient."
As she spoke, Shu Yao brought a basin full of swim bladders up to the camera.
"When I picked them up, they looked like this—all puffy, as if they’d been inflated. So, the first thing we need to do is prepare them properly."
She took a pair of scissors, snipped a swim bladder in half around its middle, removed the black membrane attached to it, and released the gas inside.
She explained as she worked, "You need to be careful when preparing these; this black stuff isn’t good for you. You have to release the air from the bladder, or it will likely burst when you put it in the pan."
Shu Yao stopped after preparing a few of the swim bladders. There was no need to keep going with the process. It would take up too much time.
The main reason she started this segment was to teach everyone how to prepare the swim bladders.
After washing the few swim bladders she had just prepared, she removed the basin of unprepared ones from the camera’s view and replaced it with another basin she had prepped ahead of time.
