Chapter 605: Chapter 605 The Dao of Minding My Own Business Has Failed Me Entirely
"Hahaha! I never thought I’d get my hands on a beauty like this!"
"Don’t resist unless you want to get hurt!"
One by one, they closed in, believing victory was already within their grasp.
Their boss intended to claim Ning Xi for himself first, while the others wore disgusting smiles as they imagined what would happen afterward.
They always had their fun with their catch after their boss would have his fill on their prey.
Yet throughout the entire confrontation, Lin Feng merely smiled with amusement, as though he were watching a group of clowns perform.
Beside him, Ning Xi’s beautiful face grew colder with every passing second.
A trace of killing intent flashed through her eyes.
How irritating, she thought.
Lin Feng and I were supposed to spend a peaceful, romantic evening together, yet these shameless insects have chosen this moment to ruin it.
To her, these men were no different from flies buzzing around a banquet... annoying, filthy, and completely unaware that they had provoked beings far beyond their comprehension.
Lin Feng glanced at Ning Xi and instantly understood what was on her mind.
He did not need to use his divine sense to read her thoughts.
After spending so many nights together, he knew every subtle change in her expression.
The slight frown between her brows, the faint narrowing of her beautiful eyes, and the cold aura surrounding her all told him the same thing.
She was annoyed.
This evening was supposed to belong to the two of them alone.
They had wandered through the city hand in hand, enjoyed a wonderful meal together, and planned to spend the rest of the night beneath the Lovers’ Moon.
Instead, a group of ignorant mortals had appeared out of nowhere to ruin everything.
Ning Xi wasn’t worried. She wasn’t frightened.
She was simply irritated that these insects had interrupted what should have been a perfect date.
The thugs continued advancing, their heavy footsteps echoing through the quiet street.
Their confident smiles grew wider with every step. To them, this was just another easy job.
They had surrounded countless victims before, and none had ever escaped.
Only a few meters separated them now. Lin Feng finally sighed.
He slowly raised his eyes to look at the gang of lowlifes before him, his expression as relaxed as ever.
"I was planning to enjoy the rest of my evening," he said in a calm, almost lazy voice. "Unfortunately, all of you decided to interrupt my date."
He gently squeezed Ning Xi’s hand before continuing.
"So I’ll give you one chance."
His voice remained gentle, almost friendly.
"Turn around. Walk away. Forget you ever saw us tonight."
The thugs looked at one another before bursting into laughter.
"Hahaha!"
Their laughter echoed throughout the empty street.
One thug wiped away a tear from laughing so hard.
"Did you hear that? He’s giving us a chance!"
Another pointed at Lin Feng while clutching his stomach.
"I’ve met plenty of idiots, but this guy might be the biggest one yet!"
Even the handsome young boss couldn’t help but chuckle.
He slowly clapped his hands.
"Interesting."
"You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that."
He looked Lin Feng up and down with obvious contempt.
"Unfortunately, courage without strength is just stupidity."
His eyes drifted back toward Ning Xi, and his smile became increasingly sinister.
"As for your woman..."
He licked his lips.
"I’ve already decided she’s coming with me tonight."
The surrounding thugs erupted into whistles and vulgar laughter.
"Boss has good taste!"
"She’s definitely the most beautiful woman we’ve ever seen!"
"Once Boss is done, maybe it’ll finally be our turn!"
"I’ve been thinking about her ever since I saw her!"
Their filthy comments became increasingly shameless.
Not one of them noticed that the temperature around them seemed to have dropped.
Ning Xi’s expression had become ice cold.
Her eyes, once warm while looking at Lin Feng, now held only frost.
To cultivators like her, these men were less than ants.
No...
Even ants were more deserving of life than these creatures.
Lin Feng, however, simply smiled.
There wasn’t the slightest trace of anger on his face.
He looked at the gang with the same expression an adult might use while watching a group of unruly children throwing a tantrum.
"I see," he said softly.
"So you’ve all made your decision."
He slowly shook his head.
"I wanted to have a peaceful evening with my girlfriend."
"Instead, you’ve forced me to waste precious time dealing with people like you."
His smile widened ever so slightly.
"Very well."
"Since none of you value your lives..."
"I’ll send every one of you somewhere you’ll have more time than you know what to do with and of course I’ll give you someone who would give you what you want all the time."
The handsome boss snorted.
"What nonsense!"
He waved his hand impatiently.
"Enough talking."
"Break the man’s legs first."
"I want him conscious."
The boss’s face twisted into a cruel grin.
"I want him to watch everything that happens. By the time we’re finished, he’ll be begging me to kill him."
"Hahaha!"
The thugs roared with laughter as they rolled up their sleeves and cracked their knuckles.
They had seen brave men before.
Some charged at them in desperation.
Others tried to protect their loved ones until the very end.
Some broke down and begged for mercy.
But never... not once... had they encountered someone as calm as Lin Feng.
To them, his composure was nothing but empty bravado.
They convinced themselves he was pretending to be fearless to impress the woman beside him.
The thought of watching that confidence shatter excited them.
They imagined Lin Feng screaming.
They imagined him crawling on the ground, begging for mercy.
They imagined him weeping as they dragged Ning Xi away.
Each fantasy made them laugh even harder.
None of them realized a simple truth.
The only reason Lin Feng had not acted was because he had shown them a kindness they did not deserve.
He had offered them one final opportunity to leave.
And they had laughed in his face.
Now...
There would be no second chance.
