Vivianne and Night turned to look at Vance at that.

Vivianne looked puzzled as to why some random guy was calling her sister, but she quickly figured out the situation.

She looked at Night and rolled her eyes. "Did you really get scammed by a random guy?"

Night, who was expecting her to finally come to her senses, was stumped. He looked back at Vance, then at Vivianne, and then again at Vance.

Did I guess it wrong? Are they really unrelated?

Vance was an Invader from the Vampire race, while Vivianne was a native from the Devil race.

Though the facts told him they were unrelated, his intuition was telling him otherwise.

He had this feeling he would regret it if he left this Vampire to die.

Night argued back, "But you guys look so similar..."

Vance also had a defeated look. He thought maybe he was foolish to expect some sort of miracle. Maybe this woman simply looked like his sister and had the same name.

The hybrid looked amused and said softly to the Night clone beside her, "It’s just like one of those three-way romance books."

Her excitement was obvious from her tone.

Night looked at her and said, "Aren’t you getting a little too comfortable?"

The hybrid smirked. "What can you guys even do to me?"

Night had a defeated look on his face. It seems I have to abandon this city after all.

He didn’t call for Zora and Arthur for help because he felt they would be defeated by this hybrid as well.

She had killed his three clones so easily and even absorbed some of his powers; something like her could not be defeated by ordinary means.

He guessed that if she was given enough time to grow, even [Zethe-thoth] would think twice before attacking her.

Suddenly, Night sensed something and said to the hybrid, "The chain-wielding guy is escaping."

The hybrid’s expression instantly changed, and she looked at him with an expression that was less asking and more demanding. "Where?"

Night pointed in the direction the guy was leaving without hesitation.

Night wanted that guy gone, too.

The next second, the hybrid disappeared. Night only noticed her movement after she had already reached the chain-wielding guy, even with his Nightmare Domain active.

Night thought, That artifact is not simple...

On the other side, Vivianne nodded after hearing Night’s explanation. "So this was the reason you were blowing your top off?"

"So you are saying he is my brother?" Vivianne asked. "But as far as I remember, I did have a brother, and he died with my family. Killed by Aathan." Her face was emotionless as she said it.

Night went silent at that.

Vance was also oddly quiet.

Night asked, "Is that why you made a bond with me? You wanted to kill Aathan?"

Vivianne was quiet for a few moments. Then, they heard the chain-wielding guy’s dying screams echoing in the distance, but the three of them simply ignored it.

As for the Hybrid attacking them?

Night was not worried because he had already sent Jeffy and Rango back to the Dream City the moment he realized the hybrid was out of his league.

Argus, too, had already left the city; Night had temporarily moved his clan to his Nightmare Castle.

Soon, he would send Vivianne inside his Soul Space and teleport Vance away as well, while leaving this clone here as a sacrifice.

Vance asked, "Who is Aathan?"

Night answered, "The strongest native on this planet and the ruler of Hell."

Vance then looked at Vivianne and said, "What if I told you there is no need to kill him?"

Vivianne turned toward him and said with a sneer, "Oh, really?" She had decided that, even if she couldn’t move, she would toast his ass using a ranged attack after hearing his bullshit.

She was already pissed that she and Night had had their first fight, and all because of some con artist. Night was her ticket to killing Aathan, and anyone who got in the way or tried to affect their amicable relationship was a dead man.

Vance saw the look in her eyes and could already guess her thoughts. She might look different, but her personality was exactly the same. "Sister, you have two talents, right?"

Vivianne narrowed her eyes as she looked at Vance, her voice as cold as a glacier. "What bullshit are you spouting?"

Night looked at Vance for further explanation. He guessed Vance had told the truth just now because he could feel that Vivianne’s internal emotions were in turmoil through the bond.

Vance continued, "You were born on our planet, Luna, as a Royal Vampire. You come from one of the strongest Vampire lineages and are one of the two last surviving members of the clan: Von Blood. Vivianne Von Blood, that’s your name. The name Mother gave you the day you were born."

Vivianne looked calm on the outside, but inside, she was anything but that.

She, too, could feel that Vance was not lying. Her talent allowed her to peer into a person’s soul. She could easily know if they were lying. That was the only reason she had even entertained him, despite wanting to kill him the moment she laid eyes on him.

Vance continued, "Sister, you were a prodigy. Even without your double talents, which are basically a myth, you were a monster in cultivation. The arrival of the System made you even more monstrous. But all of this inevitably attracted the greed of others."

"There were people who wished to claim your talent as their own. When they failed to do so, they wiped your memories and sent you here on a suicide mission, knowing you would die here."

Another scream from the chain-wielding man echoed through the mountains, but it was ignored yet again.

Night spoke up. "You are saying her memories were tampered with, but how do you explain the fact that she is a native? And unlike what you have said, she is not a Vampire, but a Devil." He pointed at the two small horns on her head that were an obvious giveaway.

Vance said, "Maybe she did something using her talent. After all, people with two talents are practically unheard of, so maybe something like a race change is possible. Besides... don’t you find something weird about your memories?"

Vivianne’s eyes shook at that. Of course she did.

She had realized it a long time ago, but she had guessed it had something to do with Aathan, not that her memories had been deliberately tampered with.

Night asked, "Who did it?"

"Most likely the Mystic Moon Immortal and Blood Immortal," Vance replied.

Night nodded without hesitation. "I see. We will kill them, once we are capable."

He didn’t wait for their reaction as he could tell the screaming sounds were getting weaker now, and said, "Let’s leave."

Vance asked, "My group...?"

Vivianne gave him an annoyed look. "Seriously?"

But Night, who knew they didn’t have time, said, "I’ll teleport them outside the city, but they will have to fend for themselves from there."

Vance looked relieved. Now that his adrenaline and testosterone had worn off, he was thinking clearly. He said, "Victor and the others are capable. I am sure they can take care of themselves."

And then they left without hesitation. None of them wanted to feel the heat from an angry Demigod hybrid.

...

The hybrid returned to where Night was, hoping for the drama to continue, but only saw Night standing there alone.

The hybrid’s eyes were cold. "Where are they?" The surroundings stilled as her aura was released without holding back.

But Night was unfazed; he had experienced worse. The Legendary Beast Tamer had hit him with a god-level aura in the inheritance ground and he had been unmoved, so he wasn’t going to sweat in front of some puny Demigod-level aura.

The hybrid’s cold eyes turned to annoyance when she saw he was unfazed. "Do you really think just because you left a clone behind as compensation, I will let you go?"

Night tilted his head and said with an innocent look, "Yes?"

The hybrid stared at him for some time and huffed.

"What is your name?" she asked. She was curious about the boy since he didn’t treat her like she was some abomination, even though she had refined his clones.

Night said, "I am Night."

The hybrid nodded, lowered her head, and repeated his name a couple of times under her breath. But that was it.

Night asked with an accusatory tone, "That’s it? You’re not going to tell me your name in return?"

The hybrid raised her head to look at him and said blankly, "I have no name..."

With wolf-like features, grey hair, and a body covered in crimson armor, to Night she looked less like a killer and more like a lost child.

"Then what did the Werewolf group call you?" Night asked. He could check his memories to find out, but his mind was busy with more important things.

The hybrid said, "They didn’t call me anything. I was manipulating their minds this whole time to trick them into thinking I was their comrade."

Night raised his eyebrows. "Really?"

The hybrid nodded.

"Well then, I’ll give you a name," Night said. "Names are convenient, and calling you ’hybrid’ in my mind is feeling pretty bland."

The hybrid looked at him suspiciously, questioning his motives, but she didn’t tell him not to give her a name.

Night looked her up and down, then glanced at her spear, and said, "How about Minerva?"
