I Just Wanted Friends, But My Summons Keep Eating the Bosses (ND)
Chapter 154: We are fucked
The roots smashing the sealing array paused. Instead of breaking the barrier, the tree used a small gap to slide a root inside.
The sealing array was already weakened to a great extent, this allowed the Nightmare Origin Tree to exploit the gap.
Next moment, they heard the cold voice of a child, it was distorted as if spoken through countless mouths.
[Nightmare Domain]
Razen felt his pupils constrict as he felt things head in a uncontrollable direction.
The others, even the black robed man, stared at the root as they expect it to attack them, but all they felt was the sensation of being watched by countless eyes.
It washed over them as blackish purple mist spread from the roots and covered the sealing barrier from the inside, it expanded without a warning, one moment it was fine and the next Blackish Purple covered their vision.
The mist looked eiery, it had countless eyes of different colors and mouths of different shapes and sizes covered it.
Each one of them felt the, the eyes look at them with undisguised hunger, the ominous mouths were not helping the situation either.
Night looked at all of them calmly, For this fight he had stopped feeding himself any corpses, triggering the [Sin of Hunger], he was using the curse as a boost.
This was Night’s first time releasing his Nightmare Domain like this, the Nightmare Mist formed from a part of the Nightmare Domain in the past, and he had always used it to attack and surround himself.
But after the recent evolution, the Nightmare Domain functioned had changed and now it acted like a spirit sense and developed more spiritual qualities, and in turn the Nightmare Mist became something physical.
Nightmare Mist was like his Nightmare Aspect made physical. It contained all his records, onces that solely belonged to him and while the rest came from eating his enemies.
While it was not something not prepared beforehand and something he came up on the fly, The combination did not disappoint him.
His attack reached them in an instant, giving them no opportunity to dodge.
"Aaaahhhhhh its hurts....!"
"Aaaah My Thy...."
"No not the my butt... Aaaahhhh"
"My arms...aaaaah"
"saveeeee meeeeeeeee..... Aaaaaaahhhh"
The werewolves screamed as the mist devoured the bodies of five weaker members. They couldn’t resist, theh were tired and not in the best shape.
And Night did not hold back he had gone all out afraid of missing the opportunity.
Because of which the process lacked smoothness and it was brutal. The Werewolfs were literally eating by the countless mouth.
Since they were Demigods in the past, they resisted his attack to some extent because of the little semi divine qualities that came for being a God, but it provided little help.
His Nightmare Mist could harm Alzebeus even before his evolution and The recent changes enhanced its devouring capabilities to a ridiculousdegrees. Those mouths served a real purpose for the first time.
The eyes stunned them and exposed their worst memories and fears, while the mouths bit them and tore away chunks of their bodies with each bite, this was why they screamed.
The cruel act mirrored eating them alive. The five who died in a flash were lucky, because they avoided the pain their colleagues endured of loosing parts of their bodies and their records.
Body could be recovered, but the loss of records were permanent.
The others survived the attack, some through artifacts and some through sheer strength.
Without suppression from the planet, they lacked their true strength which could be compared to Alzebeus. No in face they might even surpass him to a great extent and unlike these guys had the foundation for a civilization that was millions of years old.
The once that survived, had taken some serious damage.
And in this group, two figures resisted the attack without a scratch. And the way they did it was wuite effortless.
This caused some worry for Night, prompting him to ask Zora and Arthur for help, he contacted them with his main body that was still in the Dream City. He requested they be on standby.
He was expecting they to be hesitant or even demand something but he was surprised they agreed quite easily.
He was confused for a moment, but [Blaze] told him that, [The Sleepless Sword] had asked Arthur to work together with me.
When he asked [Blaze] the reason, he found out the whole history of how [The Sleepless Sword] and [Blaze] had been long time friends and apparently since the Primordials themselves were allies, [The Sleepless Sword] had similar expectations form Arthu
Back to the figh, Honestly Night was no reckless idiot. For this fight, He believed he would win against them; that was why he even dared to say he would summon his friends.
Night looked at the werewolf named Razen and the black robed man. Both had remained unaffected by his strongest attack, or what he considered his strongest attack.
As the blackish purple mist blocked the vision of Razen. He understood the tree had made its move, and from the looks of it, it was not alone.
Another monster accompanied it, and this one felt like it was a Disaster too.
The surroundings mist tried to attack him, but a moonlight glow shone on his skin forming a protective moonlike aura around him and kept the danger at bay.
Some might have expected his to be happy but instead His heart skipped a beat when he saw the mist trigger the moonlight.
He had received this protection artifact from the clan. It activated, only if an attack exceeded his own rank.
And as a Demigod, he considered only one rank to be above his own: the God Rank.
It caused him to panic like a girl internally.
But then he calmed down when he saw the had attack just mimicked the power of a god.
The opponent still stood in the Mortal Realm.
The reason was simple, he had seen Immortals fight and Gods were supposed to be the same strength.
If a genuine god had attacked, he doubted his artifact would make a difference. While he could still hear his group screaming he didn’t bother with them, because he knew they lacked the competence to survive a direct attack of this kind.
He assumed it was a Divine Skill or a one time artifact, probably granted to him from a God as a blessing.
He was aware of their might as he had one too.
Off to the side, unlike him, the black robed man showed no panic. He acted like he expected such an attack.
Death energy spread from him and protected him from the attack, rendering the mist useless.
While they survived the attack, the sealing array lacked such fortune. It was already on its last legs, and the Nightmare Mist ate without picking and choosing.
So it didn’t spare the sealing array either.
The array collapsed, burst into motes of light, and dispersed.
Vance and his group saw all this from their sealing array.
Because of the distance, they had a clearer view.
And Vance and Victor, the strongest from their group, possessed a special vision that allowed them to see through the mist.
They saw the mist eat the five werewolves, while the others gained bite marks over their bodies.
They looked like half eaten sandwiches before they found their own tricks to keep themselves safe.
Despite surviving, most of them suffered weakness.
"Prince, it looks like a Divine Skill," Victor stated.
Vance nodded. His eyes focused on Night, who stood on top of a black root.
"He looks human, but the artifact says otherwise," Vance noted.
"He must be a Disaster as well from the looks of things," Victor agreed.
As if sensing their gaze, Night looked in their direction.
This caused them to look solemn.
...
The mist dispersed as Night pulled back his Nightmare Mist. He quickly realized it lacked the power to deal further damage.
As the mist dispersed as if sn illusion, Razen looked up and saw at Night and flew into rage.
The boy stood on the tree root as if nothing had happened.
He ignored his group and focused on Night, acting as if the boy might disappear if he blinked.
His eyes shone in silver light, and his body grew until he stood eight feet tall.
Next moment he disappeared in a flash of silver light and appeared upon Night.
He pulled his fist back and punched.
Though the movement appeared instantaneous, Night tracked him easily with his Domain.
But Night did not dodge the attack.
He wanted to confirm something that bothered him since his recent evolution.
So he pulled his fist back and punched as well.
Boom.
Razen expected the force to blow Night away or even burst him into piecee, but the boy remained unmoved.
And their was not even a scratch on his body, even he hair barely moved as the wind from the aftermath of the attack hit him.
Forget about Razen; even Night himself and his friends watching from the Inner World felt stunned.
Except [Dream] everyone felt as if they were dreaming.
Both of them competed in raw strength, and they appeared equal.
No.
In face, Night stood as the winner in the clash since he used nothing besides his fist, he hadn’t moved the rest of his body.
Razen realized a this and cursed in his mind.
We are fucked...
Not just him. His companions thought the same.
Even Victor on the other side gulped.
