I Grind to Martial Saint
Chapter 393 305: Excuse
Before Han Yuan's disbelieving eyes, the Orange Cat's body rapidly swelled, transforming into a giant tiger wreathed in dark red flames.
CRUNCH!
The giant tiger opened its jaws and swallowed the giant fish in a single gulp.
A few seconds later, the giant tiger gradually shrank, turning back into the Orange Cat.
"Meeeow~ This fish is quite tasty."
The Orange Cat meowed.
Meanwhile, Han Yuan was practically petrified.
After a moment, he couldn't help but exclaim, "You can transform?!"
"Of course... So? Isn't my new form cool?"
"I'm sure I'll charm plenty of female cats," the Orange Cat snickered.
Han Yuan asked in astonishment, "When did you learn to transform?"
"I don't know... It just sort of happened one day... Anyway, I just woke up and felt like I could do it," the Orange Cat said softly.
"You..." Han Yuan gave it a strange look.
'Even with his system, he had to grind for proficiency bit by bit.'
'This guy, on the other hand, just sleeps to get a breakthrough.'
"Meeeow~ This is Lord Meow's natural talent. Something you can only dream of."
"The next time I see that Ding Zihu guy, I'll transform and scare him half to death!"
The Orange Cat was already plotting how to mess with him.
Han Yuan shook his head. After taking a moment to process this, he led the Orange Cat away from the shore.
He wasted no more time and headed for Changming Province City.
In the Great Li Dynasty, the imperial power was strong enough to keep the many Sects and Noble Families in check, and the Great Demon Palace was no exception.
However, the Government Office also allowed the Great Demon Palace to establish branches in the province cities and recruit disciples.
Of course, if any anomalies arose in Changming Province City, the Great Demon Palace was also required to dispatch its members to handle them.
The two parties existed in this state of relative peace.
Come to think of it, ever since entering the Great Li Dynasty, Han Yuan had been constantly rushing his journey.
He hadn't had a chance to enter any of its major cities.
Upon arriving at Changming Province City, he was greeted by a scene of bustling prosperity.
The wide streets were filled with an endless stream of pedestrians, a bustling scene of carriages and horses.
Both sides of the street were lined with small stalls.
Flatbread, noodles, tea, trinkets... they sold all kinds of goods.
Beyond the stalls were lavishly decorated shops of all kinds, leaving Han Yuan feeling a little dazzled.
This was a completely different sight from the Great Ling Dynasty.
'It seems the surge of Spiritual Qi and the re-emergence of the Evil Demon Seeds haven't had much of an impact on the common people here,' Han Yuan mused.
'After all, the Great Li Dynasty is powerful, and with so many Ancient Sects around, the turmoil caused by the Evil Demon Seeds can still be suppressed.'
'But as the Spiritual Qi continues to surge and the Source Evil Seeds emerge, the situation will likely change.'
'And beyond the Source Evil Seeds, there is the even more terrifying Source Seed Shredded Meat.'
'Of course, those are all matters for the future.'
After asking for directions, Han Yuan quickly found his way to the Great Demon Palace's outpost in Changming Province City.
'Are they... recruiting disciples?'
Han Yuan was surprised to see a massive line snaking in front of the Great Demon Palace's outpost.
Naturally, he had no intention of meekly getting in line and instead walked directly toward the entrance of the outpost.
"Halt!"
"You've got some nerve, kid! Get back in line!" a disciple in the black robes of the Great Demon Palace, standing guard at the entrance, saw Han Yuan approach and barked coldly.
"I'm not here to join the sect," Han Yuan said, shaking his head.
"If you're not here to join, then what are you doing here crowding the place?"
"So get lost," the disciple said impatiently.
Han Yuan wasn't particularly angered by the ordinary disciple.
It was mainly that his mindset had changed.
'One doesn't bicker with an ant.'
He took out the Token that Situ Hui had given him before his departure. "Trouble yourself to call out Elder Wang," he said coolly.
The disciple's eyes went wide with shock when he saw the Token in Han Yuan's hand.
After a moment spent verifying its authenticity, he instantly grew panicked.
'This was a Token that only a True Disciple of the Great Demon Palace could possess!'
'Within the Great Demon Palace, aren't Senior Brothers Dong Sen and Zheng Xi the only ones who have one?'
'Who is this?'
But he didn't dare ask.
His earlier attitude had almost certainly displeased this True Disciple immensely.
The disciple stammered, "I'll go announce you at once!"
With that, he turned and sprinted into the outpost, wishing he'd been born with two more legs.
Han Yuan couldn't help but chuckle at the sight.
A short while later, an elder with a youthful face despite his white hair came rushing out from the outpost with a group of people.
This was, of course, Elder Wang, the one in charge of the outpost.
His full name was Wang Quan, and he ranked eighth among the nine Elders of the Great Demon Palace.
Unlike the ordinary disciples, Wang Quan was well aware of the recent events at the Great Demon Palace. He also knew that Han Yuan was coming to replace him as the Supervisor of this branch outpost.
"I am Wang Quan. Greetings, Supervisor Han."
The moment Wang Quan came out, he completely disregarded his own status as an Elder and was the first to bow to Han Yuan.
The disciples following behind Wang Quan were stunned to hear this.
'Even if Han Yuan is a True Disciple, Elder Wang is still an Elder of the Great Demon Palace. Their status is nearly identical. Is there any need for him to be so deferential?'
However, a few of the better-informed disciples seemed to understand. Their eyes flickered as they curiously sized up Han Yuan.
"You're too kind, Elder Wang."
'I didn't expect this old fellow to be so sensible,' Han Yuan thought.
"It is I who have been a poor host!"
"Supervisor Han, please, come inside before we speak further," Wang Quan said hastily.
'He knew what Han Yuan had done back at the Great Demon Palace.'
'He'd been in the sect for less than two days before slaughtering Li Yuanshi and his son.'
'Even Situ Hui had seemed afraid he would cause more trouble, which was why he'd been transferred here.'
