Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Otherwise, She Will Not Walk Out of Ten Thousand Beasts City Today!

Ophelia narrowed her eyes. She hadn’t expected Ten Thousand Beasts City to have such a clear grasp of the Golden Dragon Clan’s affairs when they were thousands of miles apart.

Could it be that the Beast World already possessed an intelligence network?

A slight shock rippled through Ophelia’s heart; it seemed she still didn’t fully understand this Beast World. In her past life, she had been trapped in the Snow Wolf Clan, completely isolated from outside news. Now, she had escaped that fiery pit and returned to the Golden Dragon Clan. She had even met Klein, the White Tiger King, and realized there was always a greater power out there. Now here she was in Ten Thousand Beasts City. Could there be an existence even more formidable? Could there be someone even stronger than the City Lord here?

Seeing that Moye was not easily fooled, Ophelia feigned a troubled expression. "Since City Lord Mo Ye asks, I have no choice but to tell the truth.

"Actually, I know some methods for breeding prey. I’ve been secretly raising these animals in the mountains. I also found a very cold cave up there. If I store the meat inside, it won’t spoil for weeks."

Anyone could find out about the Golden Dragon Clan’s flood just by asking around neighboring tribes, but she didn’t believe Moye knew every inch of their mountains. He couldn’t exactly go search the area right now to verify her words.

Moye pondered this, clearly not entirely convinced by Ophelia’s explanation. He stealthily glanced at the adjacent wooden door. Seeing no movement from behind it, he decided not to press the issue.

Ophelia breathed a sigh of relief, knowing she had passed this hurdle. She took out the Orange Crystal Stone she had prepared beforehand from her clothes. "Here is the Orange Crystal Stone. I’ve met all the requirements. Can I establish my own tribe now?"

Moye took the crystal stone and examined it closely. To his surprise, he found that this Orange Crystal Stone was completely free of impurities and highly intact. It was simply unbelievable. Such crystal stones only circulated among the upper echelons. It was absolutely impossible for lower-tier tribes like the Golden Dragon Clan or the Snow Wolf Clan to possess one. Even in his Ten Thousand Beasts City, an Orange Crystal Stone of such pristine quality couldn’t be found.

Moye’s gaze toward Ophelia inevitably changed. The crystal stone in his hand gleamed dazzlingly in the sunlight, making it impossible to look away. "Little female, where did you get this crystal stone?"

"The White Tiger King traded me for food. He gave it to me."

Since Moye knew about the Golden Dragon Clan’s flood, he surely knew about her trading so much rice at the market.

Moye wanted to ask more, but Ophelia’s expression darkened. "City Lord Mo Ye, I don’t believe establishing a tribe requires an interrogation."

Moye was left speechless. "Don’t be angry. I’ll go get your City Lord Token right now."

He took a black token from a small box on his desk. It was made of the exact same material as the token Klein had given her. It seemed Klein’s piece of iron wasn’t a fluke; they really had discovered iron ore and mastered the smelting process. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be so generous as to use it to craft a City Lord Token.

"Congratulations, Clan Leader Ophelia. I hope your tribe will continue to prosper." This was his standard congratulatory line when issuing tokens, but this time, his well-wishes were genuine. He was curious to see how far a tribe led by a young female could go.

"Thank you." Ophelia rubbed the black token with her fingertips. It bore a strange totem she couldn’t quite understand, but that didn’t change the fact that she was now a Clan Leader. Thrilled, her almond eyes sparkled as she looked at the male beside her. "Look, this is our Clan Leader Token."

A rare smile graced Tyler’s usually stoic face. "Yes, my Clan Leader Ophelia."

Getting the token was only the first step; the next was dividing the territory.

Watching the two happy youths, Moye’s tone turned a bit brisker. "Stop grinning like fools. Do you still want your territory or not?"

"We do, we do!" Ophelia hurried to the desk and looked at the Sheepskin Scroll spread out across it.

The Sheepskin Scroll was about two meters long, bearing a rough sketch of mountains, forests, and lakes. It was a map. Certain areas on the map had already been circled with black lines, and the enclosed sections were stamped with dark red totems.

"You can choose this plot of land," Moye said. "There’s a stream here, so if you build your tribe in this spot, getting drinking water will be very convenient. Plus, the vegetation in this forest is lush, so there’s bound to be plenty of prey."

When it came to the territories on the map, Moye knew them like the back of his hand. He didn’t hold the title of City Lord for nothing; every year, he patrolled the unoccupied lands to prevent tribes from expanding their borders without permission.

"Isn’t this territory a bit small?" Ophelia asked hesitantly.

Moye glared at her in dissatisfaction. "This is the best plot of land in the entire area. If I didn’t find you pleasing to the eye, I wouldn’t bear to part with it."

Even he coveted such a prime location. If it weren’t for the higher-ups’ regulations prohibiting City Lords and their relatives from privately establishing tribes, this juicy piece of meat would never have fallen into the lap of this little female.

Ophelia stuck out her tongue playfully and smiled. "Don’t be angry, City Lord. I was just saying.

"But this land really is quite small. Could you allocate a bit more for me?"

She knew this amount of territory was pitifully small—probably the smallest compared to any other clan. Wasn’t this blatantly targeting her? Was she receiving so little land just because she was young?

"Could you give us a little more?" she pressed. "Once we expand, we won’t have enough space to accommodate our people."

"I can’t help it. The terms you provided were limited. You only met the most basic requirements, so this is all the territory you get," Moye refused righteously, making it clear that Ophelia was strictly limited to this plot.

Then, hearing her plea, the corners of Moye’s mouth curled into a meaningful smile. "It’s not entirely impossible to get more land. There are two ways."

"What ways?"

"First, you can trade Orange Crystal Stones for territory." Moye paused, his eyes evaluating Tyler beside her. "Second, you can challenge other nearby tribes. If you win, you can claim their land.

"However, I don’t recommend trying to seize territory by force right now. Your tribe has just been established, making that method too risky. One careless move, and your tribe could become a public enemy. If that happens, not only will you fail to gain new land, but your own territory will likely be swallowed up."

Moye quite liked this savvy little female, which was why he had bothered to offer the extra advice.

Ophelia considered his words and found them reasonable, feeling deeply grateful for the warning.

"Then how much territory can I trade for these Orange Crystal Stones?" She pulled five Orange Crystal Stones from the Beast Skin Bag at her waist.

Seeing the five Orange Crystal Stones, Moye was even more shocked.

His subordinate males had reported that the White Tiger King traded for a considerable amount of rice from Ophelia, but the scouts didn’t know the exact quantity. Moye had assumed it was a few dozen sacks at most, given the fixed annual yield of rice. Even if Ophelia had traded aged rice, it shouldn’t have exceeded a hundred sacks.

But in reality, the amount of food Ophelia had traded away recently was a number he couldn’t even fathom.

Fortunately for her, the Beast World’s intelligence network wasn’t meticulous enough to capture every minor detail. That gap in information allowed Ophelia to dodge a bullet; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to walk out of Ten Thousand Beasts City alive today!
