Chapter 129: Chapter 129: They Are Also Quite a Good Match

However, Ophelia’s sleepiness had mostly faded by now. She sat up and looked at Klein seriously.

"We need to talk."

Seeing her unusually solemn expression, Klein’s smile faded significantly.

"Speak. I’m listening."

Although Ophelia knew it was a bit unfair of her, she still spoke up.

"Klein, you know I’ve just established my own tribe. I can’t stay in the White Tiger Clan with you.

"In a couple of days, I’ll be returning to the Fu Clan with Tyler and the others. But I promise, I will come to the White Tiger Clan to spend time with you regularly."

Even though she hadn’t yet accepted intimate advances from Klein, they had already become mates. Thus, she fully intended to fulfill her obligations as a partner. Doing so would also slightly lessen the guilt she felt toward him.

Hearing Ophelia’s words, a layer of gloom clouded Klein’s face.

He raised a hand, and Ophelia, startled, quickly shrank her neck back.

Seeing her reaction, Klein’s heart filled with bitterness.

"Can’t you wait until after you give birth to the cubs before leaving?"

Klein had long anticipated that Ophelia wouldn’t stay in the White Tiger Clan. But they had only just become mates; he didn’t want to part with her so soon.

Ophelia shook her head. "No. The Fu Clan has already prepared everything I’ll need for the delivery.

"I still want to go back to the Fu Clan to give birth. I’ll feel much more at ease in a familiar place."

Klein understood her reasoning, yet his emotions desperately wanted her to delay her departure.

Noticing the disappointment on his face, Ophelia couldn’t bear it. "How about this? The second month after I give birth, I’ll come to the White Tiger Clan to be with you. Does that sound okay?"

Ophelia knew her actions were somewhat unfair, but once the little dragon cubs were born, she had to be back at the Fu Clan Tribe. That was the only way to ensure the secret of their lineage wouldn’t be leaked.

"Alright. Since you’ve made up your mind, I respect your decision." Klein closed his eyes, hiding the pain in them, and agreed.

Seeing him agree, Ophelia took the initiative to hold his hand. "Klein," she promised, "I’ve already become mates with you, and I won’t go back on it."

"Mhm. It’s getting late. You should get to sleep early."

Two days later, Ophelia had everything packed and was ready to embark on the journey home with Tyler and Zerev.

At the gate of the White Tiger Clan Tribe, Ophelia and Klein locked eyes.

Klein’s eyes were full of reluctance, and Ophelia felt terribly uncomfortable, overwhelmed with guilt toward him. But staying in the White Tiger Clan wasn’t something she was willing to do. After all, her roots were in the Fu Clan, and her career had only just begun. She couldn’t throw away all her previous hard work just for Klein.

Ultimately, Klein was the first to break. He reached out and pulled Ophelia into his embrace.

Resting his chin on top of her soft hair, his voice was deep and hoarse.

"You don’t need to run back and forth. I’ll handle the affairs of the White Tiger Clan and then come find you at the Fu Clan."

He had never been one to wait for fate to happen; he preferred to take the initiative.

"Okay, I’ll wait for you at the Fu Clan. But don’t exhaust yourself—we still have many days ahead of us."

Knowing there wasn’t much else she could do, Ophelia gently hugged him back, hoping to give him some peace of mind.

"Brother, I’ll wait for you at the Fu Clan Tribe with Sister! I’ll also help you take good care of her, so don’t worry," Ali chimed in with a beaming smile as she bounded over.

With Ali’s interruption, the somber atmosphere of their parting lightened significantly.

Klein looked at Ali and instructed her in a low voice, "When you get to the Fu Clan, you better listen to Ophelia and behave. Don’t cause any trouble. If I find out you did, I’ll punish you by forbidding you from eating any fruit for the entire summer."

Hearing her brother’s threat, Ali pouted sadly. "Stinky brother, bad brother! I’m kindly helping you keep an eye on Sister, and this is how you treat me!"

The moment the words left her mouth, she realized she had let the secret slip. She quickly covered her mouth and ran off.

Ophelia looked at Klein with a curled lip. So *that* was the real reason Ali had clamored to go back to the Fu Clan with her.

Klein’s expression remained unchanged, frankly admitting to it.

Even a journey of a thousand miles must end in farewell.

Half an hour later, Ophelia, Tyler, and the rest departed from the White Tiger Clan Tribe.

Standing atop the White Tiger Clan’s wall, Klein watched Ophelia’s fading silhouette, his eyes growing hot.

She was the first little female he had ever liked, and the first to make him worry so deeply. Because of her, he had gone against all of his former pride. He had even used underhanded methods just to become her mate.

And he wouldn’t regret it, even if he died a hundred times!

The group was in high spirits on the journey back. They intentionally slowed their pace, taking the time to enjoy the scenic mountains and rivers along the way.

But before they had even traveled for two days, an issue arose. Ali had a delicate constitution and hadn’t traveled far from home much. Previously, when she went to the Dragon Clan, she had been carried on the backs of the tribe’s males.

This time, she had enthusiastically declared that she wanted to walk on her own. The result was that within two days, her feet were covered in blisters.

Sitting on a rock, she stared at her bright red toes and cried miserably.

"Sister, my feet hurt so much!

"Why is it like this? Why can males walk perfectly fine without any issues? Ugh, it’s so unfair!"

Ali tugged at Ophelia’s skirt, bawling loudly.

Laxus’s ears were ringing from her cries. Helpless, he had no choice but to crouch down and inspect the injuries on Ali’s feet. Her delicate toes were covered in blisters, and the skin on her soles and heels was completely chafed raw.

"Your feet are badly injured. You can’t walk anymore," Laxus said. "I’ll have the males take turns carrying you."

Ali looked at Ophelia, her gaze landing on Ophelia’s feet. Seeing that the other female was perfectly fine, she felt a wave of indignation.

"No! I can still walk."

With that, Ali shoved on her straw sandals and tried to storm off. But the moment the soles of her feet touched the ground, a sharp pain struck her, instantly turning her legs to jelly.

Seeing this, Laxus hurriedly supported her waist. "Don’t push yourself. If you keep walking, your feet will be ruined."

Little females were naturally delicate and lacked experience in long-distance trekking. The fact that Ali had managed to walk for two days straight was already quite impressive.

"Ali, just do as my brother says and let the males take turns carrying you," Ophelia advised. "Brother, let’s slow our pace down even more for the next couple of days. There’s no need to rush."

Ali pouted her lips. "I don’t want the other males to carry me. I want Laxus to carry me!"

Among the large group, Ali only knew Ophelia, Tyler, and Laxus. However, Tyler was Ophelia’s mate, so it wasn’t appropriate to ask him to carry her. She could only settle for the next best option and have Laxus do it.

Laxus didn’t refuse. He immediately crouched down in front of Ali. "Hop on. I’ll carry you."

Ali stared at Laxus’s broad back, her cheeks flushing slightly red.

"Come, I’ll help you up." Ophelia supported Ali until she was securely resting on Laxus’s back.

"Hold onto my neck tightly. I’m going to stand up now," Laxus said.

Using both hands to support Ali’s buttocks, he slowly rose to his feet.

It was Ali’s first time having a strange male touch such a sensitive area. Even though she had always been carefree and outspoken, her face burned crimson with embarrassment.

The culprit, however, remained completely oblivious, simply keeping his head down as he marched forward.

Walking behind them, Ophelia watched their retreating figures, her eyes curving into a gentle smile.

Ali had a lively personality, while her brother was honest and straightforward. If the two of them ended up together, they would actually make quite a good match.
