Several bouts of wind and rain, several rounds of turmoil, since parting ways with the Queen Mother of the West, Zhang Chen hasn’t rested.

For a full month, Zhang Chen’s golden body has weakened, and only when the aura of an embryo was detected in Lady Biyun’s belly did their struggles come to a halt.

Inside the Alchemy Room

Zhang Chen rubbed his aching waist, slowly got up, and put on his clothes. Even with a refined golden body, he couldn’t endure a month without rest.

Lady Biyun lay on the ground, her eyes fixed on Zhang Chen, her body had melted into spring water: "Husband!"

Lady Biyun’s voice was soft and gentle, filled with worry.

Their eyes met, and Zhang Chen quickly turned around to help Lady Biyun dress, his gaze revealing caution: "You don’t need to speak, I know what you want to say."

Zhang Chen looked toward Lady Biyun’s belly, sensing the nurturing power of life within.

Lady Biyun closed her mouth but gazed at Zhang Chen with worry. After a long silence, Zhang Chen said: "Even if there’s a child, the child may not necessarily inherit my constitution, so there won’t be any danger."

Lady Biyun’s eyes were full of anxiety: "I’m only afraid the child will suffer punishment on your behalf. Such painful suffering, if they were born, would be too cruel."

Hearing this, Zhang Chen fell into silence, countless thoughts swirling in his mind, then he spoke: "You needn’t worry, I have a plan, the Queen Mother of the West still counts on me to accomplish something, she certainly won’t harm our child."

Lady Biyun said no more, though her eyes hid a trace of worry.

Time flies quickly, neither Zhang Chen nor Lady Biyun are ordinary people. Even while in the womb, the child already possesses a Qi mechanism. During this time, the Queen Mother of the West sent countless miracle elixirs for nourishment, resulting in Zhang Chen’s child being conceived for three full years before being born.

"Husband, it’s a boy." Lady Biyun cradled the infant, her eyes looking at the child’s tender, innocent face, her gaze showing joy.

"Shall we name the child?" Lady Biyun looked at Zhang Chen.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Chen pondered briefly and then said, "How about the name ’Shun’?"

"Shun?" Lady Biyun was taken aback.

"I just hope he grows up safely and smoothly all his life." Zhang Chen replied.

Lady Biyun nodded upon hearing this: "Good! Then it’s Shun!"

Shun’s birth added a touch of warmth and vitality to the Alchemy Room, but Lady Biyun always wore a trace of worry on her face.

Zhang Chen looked at Shun, his eyes showing heaviness, as if pondering something, and after a long time, he said to Lady Biyun: "I have a Divine Technique that may add a layer of protection for Shun, but this place is under the domain of the Queen Mother of the West, any disturbance will surely alert her..."

Zhang Chen had long planned, which was the Reincarnation Mark. If he could secretly imprint the Reincarnation Mark on Shun’s soul, even if Shun encountered calamities later, Zhang Chen would have a chance to remedy them.

Upon hearing this, Lady Biyun understood Zhang Chen’s thought and spoke: "The bottom of the medicine furnace contains the power of Heaven-Opening Fire Spirit, which can evade the Queen Mother of the West’s scrutiny, it is a blind spot for her observation."

Zhang Chen held Shun as he walked toward the Alchemy Furnace, his Divine Power circulating within, the Reincarnation Mark gathering in his hand, embedding into Shun’s brow.

Although the Six Paths of Reincarnation Disc was not by his side, he always held the Authority of Reincarnation in his grasp, and the Power of Reincarnation was extremely secretive, once integrated into reincarnation, it was impossible to detect.

After applying a seal, Zhang Chen breathed a sigh of relief, turned to look at Lady Biyun, hesitated slightly and said: "Come over here."

In the past, he dared not trust Lady Biyun, but now they have a shared child, there’s a bond of causality between them, Lady Biyun is worthy of his risk once.

Lady Biyun came under the Alchemy Furnace, Zhang Chen’s Reincarnation Mark circulated in his hand, and the gray Reincarnation Mark settled on Lady Biyun’s brow, disappearing from sight.

"It seems you have many secrets." Lady Biyun looked at Zhang Chen, her eyes full of curiosity.

Zhang Chen sighed gently: "In life, who doesn’t have a few secrets?"

Lady Biyun said nothing more, just held ’Shun’ as she walked out from under the furnace, looking at the empty Medicine Hall, she said: "Born in Kunlun, like a bird trapped in a cage, for him it’s the greatest misfortune."

Zhang Chen walked out from beneath the Eight Trigrams Furnace, hearing this, he fell into silence, after a long while he said: "Wait a bit longer! There will be an opportunity."

Lady Biyun gave Zhang Chen a glance, said nothing more, just sat there administering the elixir to Shun.

Three more years passed

Lady Biyun was engaged in alchemy, Zhang Chen was cultivating, Shun sat beside Lady Biyun watching the herbs. In these three years, Zhang Chen worked tirelessly on his cultivation, at least from an outsider’s view, he meditated day and night without a single day’s delay.

Suddenly, a stream of light flickered, and the Queen Mother of the West appeared in the Alchemy Room.

"Greetings, Lady." Zhang Chen promptly greeted her with a respectful bow, pulling Lady Biyun to do the same.

"Come here!" The Queen Mother of the West looked at Shun and gently waved him over.

Zhang Chen and Lady Biyun’s expressions changed drastically, yet they dared not interrupt.

"Who are you?" Shun lifted his head, revealing his round face, looking innocently and fearlessly at the Queen Mother of the West.

"This is the Queen Mother of the West, hurry and kneel to pay your respects." Zhang Chen quickly admonished.

"Do not scare the child." The Queen Mother of the West reproached Zhang Chen, then approached Shun and gently stroked his head: "Truly a good child."

A flash of lightning sparkled from her fingertip, a faint thunderous light entered Shun’s body, and in the next moment, his eyes rolled back, and he passed out from the shock.

"Lady..." Zhang Chen anxiously called out.

The Queen Mother of the West paused and looked at Shun with a displeased expression: "He hasn’t inherited your constitution, it seems your immunity to thunder punishment does not pass down through blood."

"I beg the Lady’s mercy. I will definitely work hard in cultivation. Shun is still a child, Shun is innocent." Zhang Chen prostrated himself on the ground, pleading continuously.

The Queen Mother of the West ignored Zhang Chen and instead looked at the small unconscious little one exuding a scorched smell, pulled out a pill and pushed it into Shun’s mouth: "This elixir can bring the dead to life, even if he were dead, I could revive him. Why are you so anxious?"

Upon hearing this, sweat rolled down Zhang Chen’s forehead. The Queen Mother of the West glanced at him: "From now on, the little one will stay by my side to cultivate, and you should train well, or in the future your son will replace your role."

After saying this, the Queen Mother of the West embraced Shun and turned into a stream of light, leaving Zhang Chen and Lady Biyun standing silently in the hall.

"What should we do?" Lady Biyun looked at Zhang Chen, her eyes full of helplessness.

Zhang Chen didn’t speak, he walked under the Alchemy Furnace, his eyes meeting Lady Biyun’s, who rushed over and anxiously gazed at him with her distinct black and white eyes.

"How much do you know about the Peach Tree?" Zhang Chen asked.

"The Peach Tree is planted in the Peach Garden, guarded by Golden Armor Divine General, it’s the most significant place in Kunlun Mountain." Lady Biyun looked at Zhang Chen, not knowing his intention behind mentioning the peaches.

"And the inside of the Peach Garden? Are you familiar with it?" Zhang Chen inquired.

"Of course, in the old days I tended the Peach Garden for the Queen Mother of the West, and each year when the peaches ripen, I am responsible for the harvest. There are a total of nine thousand Peach Trees in the garden, divided into three-year, six-year, and nine-year peaches, with three thousand each. Do you intend to target the Peach Garden?" Lady Biyun gazed at Zhang Chen, her voice full of caution:

"You must not have such thoughts, as the Peach Garden is guarded by an Innate Spirit, and it’s beyond your probing."

"The warrior guarding the Peach Garden is said to have reached the Golden Immortal realm, second only to the Queen Mother of the West in Kunlun Mountain." Lady Biyun kept urging Zhang Chen.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Chen felt disappointed; it seemed he couldn’t make a move on the Peach Garden.

Zhang Chen took out the peach pits from under the Alchemy Furnace, his eyes showing a spark of intrigue: "Are you sure this place cannot be sensed by the Queen Mother of the West?"

"I’m sure!" Lady Biyun said: "Deep within the earth of Kunlun Mountain lies a sealed Heaven-Opening Fire Spirit, its powers interfering with those of the Queen Mother of the West, though not to her level. This place is one of the most concealed spots in Kunlun."

Listening to Lady Biyun, Zhang Chen asked no more questions and instead looked down at the peach pits in his hands, eyes glinting green: ’Decree, sprout and root!’

As the Authority of Wood Element activated, the peach pits gently shook, emitting green light, but soon all the light vanished, leaving the peach pits unmoved in his hands.

Just then, a message from the void entered Zhang Chen’s mind: "The Innate Spirit Root is unique; with the nine thousand Peach Trees established, no new ones will grow unless one is destroyed, then Zhang Chen could decree the peach pit to sprout and root."

"No wonder the Queen Mother of the West is unconcerned about the peach pits leaking, all because they won’t sprout at all." Zhang Chen pondered, quietly placing the peach pits into the Ascension Pool.

In this world, I can’t cultivate peaches, but what about another world?

"Husband, focus on cultivation, don’t take drastic measures, otherwise, angering the Queen Mother of the West might spell disaster for us." Lady Biyun’s voice was full of concern.

Upon hearing this, Zhang Chen sighed softly: "I understand, I will find ways to address all issues, do not worry, everything will stop with me, and won’t involve our child."

After speaking, Zhang Chen sighed again, initially he planned to foster a Peach Tree, but now thought better of it, first collecting peach pits.

If need be, I can try again upon returning to the present time.
