I Can Transfer the Side Effects of Evil Skills
Chapter 756 - 437: An Intense Call
Zou Feng desperately wanted to know exactly what Zou Er had left for him, and just what was happening in Cheyue Country that could cause someone as capable as Zou Er to suffer such an unexpected defeat. Therefore, he deliberately increased the speed of the Holy Lotus, not hesitating to burn through a massive amount of Spirit Stones to accelerate their journey.
Truth be told, the rate at which the Holy Lotus consumed Spirit Stones left Zou Feng secretly astounded. Fortunately, the Divine Ship was a gift from the Pinnacle Celestial Immortal Sect. If he had to buy it himself... well, he could afford it, but the problem was that once his Immortal Fate was spent, where would he find so many Spirit Stones to feed the Holy Lotus?
In no mood for Cultivation, Zou Feng occasionally walked to the bow of the ship, gazing in the direction of Cheyue Country. Of course, his frequent appearances were also meant to bait the hook.
Sure enough, while Zou Feng was once again striking a pose at the bow, two Celestial Generals on a mountain peak about a mile away from the Holy Lotus recognized him. They had been ordered to investigate the Flying Celestial Ship, but they quickly identified this harbinger of death.
"Zou Feng!?"
"Yes, it’s him... Tsk, to think this Demon actually came here..."
"Look away quickly! Don’t stare at him for too long, or else... What’s wrong with you!?"
The Celestial General had barely finished warning his companion when he realized the man beside him was already frozen in place, his eyes hollow and devoid of life. Sensing that something was terribly wrong, he didn’t even dare to steal another glance at the Flying Celestial Ship. He immediately retreated with all his might. However, after taking just two steps back, his spine slammed into a transparent web. No matter how hard he struggled, he could not break free.
The next moment, out of the corner of his eye, the Celestial General caught sight of a very tall female figure. The dense demonic aura radiating from her body almost suffocated him, making him wonder if she was a Golden Core Great Demon.
Zhu Caiwei swayed her massive, millstone-sized lower body, stepping out from the void with a light smile. Ignoring the two immobilized Celestial Generals, she quickly dropped to one knee and bowed respectfully to the space ahead. "Master, there shouldn’t be any other flies around."
As soon as she finished speaking, Zou Feng, who had clearly been at the bow of the Flying Celestial Ship just a moment ago, abruptly materialized right there.
Although the two Celestial Generals could not move, they had not lost consciousness. Seeing this, they felt absolutely hopeless. If they had known Zou Feng was on the Flying Celestial Ship, they would never have attempted to spy on it.
After appearing, Zou Feng walked past the first Celestial General and casually patted the top of his head. White smoke billowed out, rapidly enveloping the man. By the time Zou Feng took another step, the Celestial General had vanished from within the smoke, leaving behind only a levitating Elixir Pill in his place.
Witnessing this scene, the Celestial General trapped in the spiderweb was so shocked that his jaw dropped. He wondered if this was the Outer Alchemy Dao. And the speed at which the External Pill was refined... It was simply absurd. He had never seen, nor even heard of, an Immortal Official capable of refining an External Pill so quickly.
While he was consumed by extreme confusion, Zou Feng had already walked up to him. The Celestial General looked up at Zou Feng, his eyes filled with indescribable terror.
Without wasting any words, Zou Feng formed a Dharma Seal with his left hand, causing a Golden Lotus to bloom within the Celestial General’s eyes. The man’s entire body shuddered, and he instantly fell into a trancelike, soulless state.
"Speak. What is the current situation in Cheyue Country?" Zou Feng asked softly.
Normally, if a captured Celestial General couldn’t withstand torture and interrogation, causing his loyalty to the Celestial Court to waver as he prepared to spill intelligence, the "Queen Mother’s Murmurs" would immediately cause his mind to explode like a smashed watermelon. However, as the Celestial General uncontrollably blurted out everything he knew, absolutely nothing unexpected happened. This wasn’t because the Queen Mother’s Murmurs had suddenly failed; rather, Zou Feng’s current mastery over the Nine Immortal Ascension Skills allowed him to preemptively intercept the eerie power transmitted by the Queen Mother.
Once the interrogation was complete, Zou Feng fell into deep thought. The current state of Cheyue Country was mostly clear to him now. Just as he had previously speculated, Cheyue Country had long been occupied by the Ninefold Celestial Court. Its current Leaders were the three Demon Immortals: Red Tiger, Jade Tiger, and Cyan Wolf.
What Zou Feng hadn’t expected, however, was that although Cheyue Country had been ravaged by the Tribulation Cultivators, there were still quite a few survivors. In particular, the king of Cheyue Country hadn’t been killed; shockingly, he still sat on the throne and even revered those three Demon Immortals as State Preceptors.
This puzzled Zou Feng. Logically, for the three Demon Immortals to control all of Cheyue Country, they didn’t need to prop up a puppet king at all. So why did they spare a portion of the population and take the nominal title of State Preceptors, seemingly letting Cheyue Country operate normally? What were they after?
But it didn’t matter if he couldn’t figure it out. When dealing with these Tribulation Cultivators, wiping them all out would suffice.
With that thought, Zou Feng turned to leave, ready to head back to the Holy Lotus.
Seeing this, Zhu Caiwei immediately asked with full expectation, "Master, what about this Celestial General..."
"Do as you wish!" Zou Feng said, vanishing from the spot.
Overjoyed, Zhu Caiwei didn’t even look back as she backhanded a thrust, plunging her hand directly into the Celestial General’s chest. Amidst agonizing shrieks, the Celestial General rapidly withered into a mummified corpse.
Now that he had brought a group of subordinates out to cause trouble, Zou Feng naturally wouldn’t hoard all the benefits for himself. This was especially true for the Poison Demons by his side; he couldn’t expect the horses to run without letting them graze.
The Holy Lotus continued its accelerated advance.
As evening approached, Cheyue Country finally came into view in the distance. Even from such a long way off, Zou Feng could sense that something was wrong with the place. Based on the intelligence pried from the Celestial General’s mouth earlier, he already knew that the entire main city of Cheyue Country was enveloped in layers upon layers of various Arrays.
