I Can Transfer the Side Effects of Evil Skills
Chapter 711 - 414: Gathering the Five Poison Creatures Again
In truth, the hiding spots of the other three demons were extremely well-concealed. Normally, even with Zou Feng’s ability to sense poisonous creatures, finding them quickly would have been a difficult task.
However, it was as if the Five Poison Creatures were naturally drawn to one another. As a result, they were on relatively good terms and all knew each other’s hiding places.
The only exception was Xie Lingwan. After breaking through to the Golden Core Realm, she felt she was a cut above the other demons and left the small circle of the Five Poison Creatures.
In any case, with Shangguan Rongrong acting as their guide, finding the other three members of the Five Poison Creatures was no difficult task.
The first to fall victim was the Toad Demon. She was holed up in her den enjoying some hotpot when, the very next moment, three True Disciples ambushed her.
Fortunately, Shangguan Rongrong appeared in time to explain their purpose. Otherwise, the Toad Demon would have suspected she had broken one of the Pinnacle Celestial Immortal Sect’s sacred laws.
As for Shangguan Rongrong offering a Poison Pill in trade...
The Toad Demon frantically waved her hands, crying out, "I couldn’t possibly!"
"To be able to serve Zou Zhenchuan of the Pinnacle Celestial Immortal Sect is a blessing for a humble demon like myself. How could I dare overstep my bounds by discussing a trade!?"
The Toad Demon was desperate to survive, but Zou Feng had created the Poison Pill with ease. He felt no loss in giving it away and saw no reason to take advantage of her to get the toad’s poison for free.
"Just take it. This Poison Pill will be an incredible boon for you!"
"By the way, now that you have such a rare opportunity, would you be willing to serve Zou Zhenchuan?"
The Toad Demon’s name was Han Ying. In her human form, she was a short, round-faced young woman. While not exactly a beauty, she was pleasant to look at.
Upon hearing this, Han Ying stared at Shangguan Rongrong, her expression complex.
’Some "sister" she is,’ she thought. ’Pressuring me in front of everyone to become Zou Feng’s subordinate. Can I really refuse?’
And so, she could only force a smile more pained than a grimace. "I’m willing... Of course, I’m willing!"
Zou Feng could clearly see her reluctance, but he did intend to recruit the remaining demons.
After all, if the boons he provided helped create another Golden Core Realm Great Demon, the benefits he could reap when collecting their poison later would be self-evident.
Without another word, Zou Feng placed a palm on Han Ying’s lower back.
Han Ying had resigned herself to her fate, feeling she’d been backed into a corner. She assumed this palm strike was meant to place some vicious Restriction on her.
But to her surprise, the moment the Poison Pattern settled on her body, she felt a surge of energy!
The boost from the Poison Pattern instantly and completely purged a hidden malady that had plagued her for years.
What’s more, as Han Ying carefully perceived the wonders of the Poison Pattern, she felt that she might truly have a chance to advance her Cultivation in the future...
"Thank you, Master! Han Ying is willing to serve you faithfully!" Han Ying hastily performed a deep bow.
Zou Feng gave a slight nod. "You don’t need to follow me all the time. Just focus on your Cultivation. If you can break through to the Golden Core Realm in the future, you will be handsomely rewarded!"
Han Ying could hardly believe what she was hearing.
She had assumed Zou Feng had a special fetish for Poison Demons; that taking in Shangguan Rongrong hadn’t been enough, and he wouldn’t even let a toad like her go.
But now, from the sound of it, she wouldn’t have to serve by his side? She wouldn’t have to suffer his... attentions!?
He even wanted her to break through to the Golden Core Realm...
This breadth of vision left Han Ying completely baffled.
’Could it be that he’s certain he’ll become a Direct Disciple of the Pinnacle Celestial Immortal Sect?’
"Ah... Yes! I will follow Master’s orders!"
This time, Han Ying’s smile was genuine, with no hint of reluctance.
"Master, please follow me!"
Having received such a boon, Han Ying naturally didn’t forget that she had to give something in return.
But with others present, even the slightest leak of her poison would make them uncomfortable and would likely displease the other two True Disciples.
Thus, she led Zou Feng into an inner chamber, intending to offer him her potent poison in private.
Once inside the chamber, however, Zou Feng refused her offer to present her poison. "No need," he said. "It’s better if I extract it myself!"
Without the goodwill he had just established, Han Ying would have assumed he planned to take an insatiable amount. Now, however, that concern had greatly diminished.
"Then... please, Master, go ahead!"
After saying this, despite still being in her human form, Han Ying unconsciously settled into a toad-like squat, waiting for Zou Feng to extract the poison himself.
Seeing Han Ying strike such an unseemly pose, Zou Feng found it rather amusing, but he managed to keep a straight face.
After all, on second thought, there was nothing graceful about his own Toad Stance.
With a soft cough, Zou Feng moved behind Han Ying, pressed his palm against her back, and began to extract the poison.
He had barely drawn a bit of the toad poison into his palm when Han Ying suddenly started crying out.
It wasn’t from pain. Rather, her back had become incredibly itchy, and her Divine Sense had inexplicably grown excited, making it impossible for Han Ying to stifle her cries.
As everyone knows, toads are creatures that love to make noise, and their croaks are notoriously unpleasant.
As Han Ying continued to cry out, her voice gradually reverted to its original toad-like croak...
Outside, the others, who were unaware of the situation, heard Han Ying’s rather unusual cries, and their expressions inevitably varied.
Jiang Wanzhao’s face darkened. She wanted to storm away, but ultimately restrained herself.
But it was as she always said: ever since her days as a Martial Artist, she had spent her time amongst the Evil Sects. She had seen things far more unseemly than this, so there was really no reason to be shocked.
With Zou Feng’s current strength and potential, he had earned the right to indulge in a few minor eccentricities.
As for Ye Chenhua, his admiration for Zou Feng only grew.
’If it were me,’ he thought, ’a Snake Demon would be one thing, but a Toad Demon... I think I’ll pass!’
It was worth noting that this involved a fellow disciple’s privacy. Jiang Wanzhao and Ye Chenhua would never use their Divine Sense to investigate the specifics; that would be no different from spying.
After extracting the poison, Zou Feng didn’t immediately begin the Refinement process.
He planned to collect the other two poisons first and then perform the Refinement on all of them at once, causing his progress in the Five Poison Holy Lotus Skill to skyrocket.
Before long, Zou Feng and Han Ying emerged from the chamber, one after the other.
Han Ying had just about screamed her throat raw, leaving a persistent flush on her cheeks that only added to the misunderstanding.
The only one present who didn’t doubt Zou Feng’s character was Shangguan Rongrong.
After all, she had also experienced the exquisite sensation of having Zou Feng extract her poison and understood that Han Ying’s strange cries were not because she was being intimate with him.
Zou Feng then politely declined Han Ying’s invitation to rest at her residence and, without missing a beat, headed for the next victim’s location.
On the way, Ye Chenhua couldn’t help but ask, "Junior Brother Zou, why didn’t you bring that demon along?"
Since Zou Feng clearly had such a fetish, he found it strange that only the Snake Demon was kept by his side.
Zou Feng was about to explain that he wasn’t recruiting these Poison Demons on a whim, and certainly not because of some bizarre fetish, but in the next moment, Ye Chenhua had already filled in the blanks himself.
"Oh! I get it!"
With that, he turned to look at the room where Jiang Wanzhao was and lowered his voice. "Just now, Junior Sister Jiang did seem a bit displeased..."
Zou Feng shook his head helplessly. "Brother Ye, is it possible you’ve completely misunderstood..."
"I don’t know if I’m mistaken about other things, but I’m definitely not mistaken about Junior Sister Jiang having feelings for you!" Ye Chenhua said with a wide grin.
Zou Feng had no rebuttal for that.
He and Jiang Wanzhao had been through several life-and-death tribulations together. It was perfectly normal for a deep bond to have formed between them.
In the past, Leng Jing had even joked that since her ancestor treated him so favorably, he might get a chance to have a fling with her someday.
He never thought that now, it might no longer be a joke...
Ye Chenhua’s Flying Celestial Ship was exceptionally fast. Before long, they arrived at the location of the next victim: a centipede demon at the Dao Foundation Realm.
When they learned the centipede demon was also female, never mind Ye Chenhua and Jiang Wanzhao—even Zou Feng himself felt it was too damn coincidental.
For all five of the Poison Demons to coincidentally be female... even if he wanted to explain, it would be impossible to clear up the misunderstanding.
And upon learning this, Jiang Wanzhao was clearly agitated. This time, she decided not to go along and make an appearance.
She wanted to avoid having to listen to those unbearable, strange cries again.
