Chapter 643: Chapter 177: Bright Heart Realm? One Punch Each, a Bare-handed Slaughter

The sky was breaking, a sliver of dawn just appearing in the east.

West of Qing Province City, a sprawling mountain range lay like a slumbering dragon.

This was Yuanlong Mountain, over eight hundred li from Qing Province City. Its terrain was exceptionally treacherous, shrouded in clouds and mist year-round.

Ordinary woodcutters and Hunters were filled with awe even just skirting its edges, never daring to venture a single step inside.

Atop the mountain’s peak lay the ruins of an ancient city, abandoned for a thousand years. Amidst the broken walls and crumbling ramparts, the dead-still air was suddenly stirred by a faint breeze.

Without warning, three figures materialized out of thin air.

The leader, barefoot and treading on air, was none other than Lingkong Jade, the Divine Sacrifice Envoy of the Moon Worship Sect. Her sashes fluttered in the wind, her posture ethereal and otherworldly.

Half a step behind her stood two others.

One, clad in light armor with an upright posture, was her personal guard, Qian Ning.

The other, her face veiled in light gauze and her figure slender, was the very same mysterious woman who had struck Chu Fan with several sword blows back in the Burial Demon Marsh.

Lingkong Jade’s expression was indifferent. Her wide sleeves billowed, and her body moved like a boneless willow branch, devoid of any worldly presence.

She drifted down, landing on a broken wall at the most treacherous edge of the ruins.

Behind her, Primordial Qi surged around Qian Ning and the masked woman. With a tap of their toes, they left a trail of Residual Images, following closely and landing steadily beside the broken wall.

The ruins were situated in an extremely perilous location, perched right on the edge of a bottomless cliff.

Lingkong Jade stood with her hands clasped behind her back, slowly lowering her head to gaze down.

Looking down, she saw only an endless, roiling sea of white clouds. The mist was so thick it seemed solid, its depths unfathomable.

No one could see what sights lay hidden beneath those clouds.

A sharp glint flashed in Lingkong Jade’s eyes...

An invisible ripple silently spread out from between her brows.

Her vast and boundless Divine Sense condensed into a sharp beam, instantly piercing through the layers of obscuring barriers and thick clouds, probing silently into the depths below.

However, after only a few breaths—

"Hmph!"

Lingkong Jade’s elegant brows furrowed sharply. Her Divine Sense, which had probed into the mist, seemed to have touched something utterly foul, and it instantly recoiled like a receding tide.

She let out a soft snort and said coldly, "Those brutes from the Demon Suppression Bureau are truly shameless! They’re like a pack of watchdogs, guarding the entrance to the Profound Origin Secret Realm without moving an inch! The moment my Divine Sense drew near, several sharp auras tried to lock onto me."

If anyone else had been present to hear this, they would have been stunned speechless.

Beneath this mist-shrouded, bottomless cliff—this Desolate Land—was actually the entrance to the Profound Origin Secret Realm, the very place that had thrown all of Qing Province into turmoil?

Behind Lingkong Jade, her guard Qian Ning took a small step forward. Gazing at the roiling sea of clouds, she said with utter disdain, "It’s a pity they don’t realize it. This so-called Profound Origin Secret Realm they’re guarding so diligently is just a front. Or rather—merely an antechamber."

She paused, a fanatical glint in her eyes. "How could the Demon Suppression Bureau possibly know that the true entrance to the ’Burial Immortal Valley,’ where the remains of immortals and gods are buried, is hidden in the deepest part of the Profound Origin Secret Realm?"

On the other side, the masked woman’s voice was low and raspy as she asked with a hint of worry, "My Lady, the Profound Origin Secret Realm is about to open, but the Zhang Family has explicitly forbidden us from interfering with the affairs of the Burial Immortal Valley. What should we do?"

"It matters not."

Lingkong Jade raised her jade-like hand and gave a gentle wave, her voice cold and haughty, tinged with contempt. "Those people from the Zhang Family are more of a hindrance than a help."

"They think that just because they’ve cultivated a few crude divination arts, they can predict everything, effortlessly navigate between the major Noble Families and the Demon Suppression Bureau, and even delude themselves into thinking they can lure out the person who took the ’key’..."

"As if it were that easy."

"If the Burial Immortal Valley doesn’t open, then no matter which power it is—the Demon Suppression Bureau, our Moon Worship Sect, or those other sects and Noble Families—all their efforts will be for nothing."

"But if the Burial Immortal Valley truly does open, how could I, Lingkong Jade, possibly be absent?"

Behind her, Qian Ning and the masked woman exchanged a look, both seeing the deep reverence in the other’s eyes. They nodded slightly, not daring to utter another word.

At that moment, Lingkong Jade slowly turned around.

Her eyes, which had been gazing at the sea of clouds, now fell upon the two behind her, instantly turning bone-chillingly cold and radiating an oppressive chill.

"I sent you to capture a mere Divine Power Realm brat. How many days has it been? Where is he?!"

An invisible, immense, and suffocating pressure instantly enveloped the entire ruins.

Qian Ning and the masked woman trembled, hastily lowering their heads, not daring to meet her gaze.

The masked woman bit her lower lip and, forcing herself to speak, said, "My Lady, that brat Chu Fan is truly strange. He must have an extremely powerful Ancient Treasure protecting him... Back in the Burial Demon Marsh, he took the full force of my sword strike with just his physical body and was completely unscathed..."

Her voice grew quieter as she spoke, laced with guilt. "Later... the Acupoint Realm assassin I sent after him... I don’t know what happened, but they ended up mysteriously dead at his hands."

"And Pei Yufeng... the Soul-Chasing Fragrance powder I had him sprinkle on Chu Fan has lost its effect. Too much time has passed, and the scent has completely dissipated..."

"Enough!"

A cold light flashed in Lingkong Jade’s eyes as she sharply cut off her excuses. "Did I summon you here to listen to your useless explanations?"

"I don’t care about the process! I only want results!"

"You can’t even handle a brat like him, failing time and again. What use is there in keeping a failure like you around?"

The masked woman’s face instantly turned ashen. She kept her head bowed low, her body as stiff as a statue, not even daring to breathe.

Seeing this, Qian Ning immediately dropped to one knee and cupped her fists. "My Lady, please calm your anger! Give this subordinate a little more time. Even if that brat is hiding deep beneath Qing Province City, I will capture him alive and deliver him to our Moon Worship Holy Sect!"
