I Can Give Talents
Chapter 592 – Demonic Chimpanzee
At the same time, Leyvi was notified that his four children had left the city.
The truth was, the city guard who had let them through was actually one of Leyvi's fan club members.
When Leywini had first approached him, trying to get close to him and secretly bribing him to let the children out when the time came, the guard simply played along. Afterwards, he immediately reported everything to Leyvi, which was how Leyvi became aware of Leywini's little scheme in the first place.
However, instead of telling the guard to stop them later, Leyvi instructed him to continue playing along and let the children leave when the time came.
He figured it would be good for them to gain some real-life experience. After all, they had lived an extremely sheltered life. The only times they had ever left Bara City were when Lilian visited her sister at the Mountain Dew Sect and brought them along.
In any case, with Senior Lapin secretly watching over them, there was nothing for him to worry about.
...
On the outskirts of Bara Forest...
"Look! That demonic beast just ran away from us. We must have scared it," Leyana said.
Leyina nodded in agreement.
"That's because we have Rosy, Ruby, and Revy with us. They're intermediate-level demonic beasts, remember?" Leylin explained.
"Oh. Brother is right. We forgot," the twins replied in perfect unison.
"This is great! It means we're much safer," Leyina said happily.
Leyana nodded enthusiastically.
"Elder Sisters, this is actually a problem," Leywini pointed out. "If every demonic beast runs away as soon as it sees us, how is Big Brother Leylin supposed to tame one?"
"Oh right..." the twins said together. "Then... should we get off?"
"Of course!" Leywini replied as she jumped off Revy's back. "Revy, please stay inside for now."
Revy let out a cute chirp before disappearing into the spirit beast bag that Leylin was carrying.
Seeing this, Leylin and the twins followed suit. Rosy and Ruby also returned to the same spirit beast bag.
"From now on, it'll all depend on us. Big Brother Leylin, please lead our adventure to find your first spirit beast. We'll support you from behind." Leywini encouraged.
Leylin gulped.
He was quite nervous, but he couldn't let his younger sisters notice. Hopefully they would find a suitable demonic bird quickly so he could tame it and return home as soon as possible.
For some reason, he could sense an unsettling atmosphere coming from the forest.
"Th-then... take out your weapons. We have to be ready for anything." Leylin instructed as he pulled a metal bat out of his backpack.
It was not Leyvi's tier-5 metal bat but a tier-3 replica that Sawi had specially made for him. It possessed the same ability to put living beings to sleep upon impact.
Since Leylin had not started cultivating yet and had no Qi of his own, Sawi had modified it to draw power directly from spirit stones instead.
The girls also carried weapons of their own, each designed to operate using spirit stones as their energy source.
Once they were fully prepared, the four children stepped into the forest.
If anyone had seen them, they would have been utterly dumbfounded.
What in the world were four children doing here? Were they courting death? What kind of parents would allow their children to wander into a demonic beast forest?
While Leylin remained on high alert, nervously scanning every direction for danger, the three girls chatted and skipped along happily as though they were simply out sightseeing.
After walking about two kilometers into the forest, they finally encountered their first demonic beast.
The children found it rather strange that it had taken this long. It was a forest after all. Shouldn't there have been demonic beasts everywhere?
"Look, look! Up in the tree! A demonic monkey!" Leyana exclaimed, pointing excitedly.
"But it looks different from the one Daddy used to have. It's much bigger." Leyina added.
"Elder Sisters, that's not a monkey. That's an ape." Leywini corrected them. "More specifically, a chimpanzee."
"Eh? They're different?" The twins tilted their heads adorably.
"They are. Look at the butt. If it doesn't have a tail, it's an ape. Monkeys have tails." Leywini explained.
"Is that so? Waa~ Little Wini is so smart! We didn't know that at all!" Leyana and Leyina praised in perfect unison.
Leywini, who was a complete sucker for their compliments, puffed out her chest proudly.
"Watch out!"
While the girls were still treating the outing like a fun adventure, the demonic chimpanzee suddenly leapt from the giant tree. It landed heavily on the ground before charging straight at them with astonishing speed.
Leylin quickly stepped into its path and swung his metal bat almost instinctively.
The low-level demonic chimpanzee, standing nearly twice the height of an ordinary man, completely ignored the attack. It simply swept its massive arm forward in a powerful backhand.
Bang!
Leylin was sent flying like a ragdoll. His body slammed into a tree hard enough to leave a deep dent in the trunk before he tumbled onto the ground. The metal bat slipped from his hands and flew several meters away.
"Brother!"
The three girls screamed in horror.
The demonic chimpanzee only glanced at Leylin briefly before continuing its charge toward the girls, roaring wildly as it prepared to tear them apart.
However, before it could reach them, its movements suddenly became sluggish.
An overwhelming wave of drowsiness washed over it.
Its eyelids drooped.
Then, with a loud thud, the giant chimpanzee collapsed face-first onto the ground.
The sleeping effect of Leylin's metal bat had finally taken hold.
Seeing the demonic beast fall, the trembling twins immediately rushed to Leylin, who was still lying face down.
"Brother! Brother! Please be okay!" they cried together as they carefully turned him over.
Blood trickled from his nose and the corner of his mouth. Several of his teeth had been knocked loose or broken by the impact.
He was still conscious.
But everything in front of him was spinning and hopelessly blurry.
"Ahhh! Brother! No! Don't die!"
The twins completely panicked. They had never seen their beloved brother covered in so much blood before.
"Give him the healing elixir!" Leywini shouted. She was still standing near the sleeping demonic chimpanzee.
The twins immediately snapped out of their panic and frantically rummaged through the bag they had brought with them.
Leyina found the healing elixir first and quickly poured it into Leylin's mouth.
Not long after, the wounds on his body healed completely. His broken nose straightened, and his shattered teeth grew back.
Leylin blinked several times as his vision gradually became clear again.
"Yana... Yina... what happened?" he asked in confusion.
Then he noticed the blood covering his clothes.
"Whoa! Blood!" he exclaimed in shock. "Is... is this mine?"
"Waaa! Brother! We're sorry! It's our fault!" Leyana and Leyina cried while wiping the blood from his now perfectly healed face.
"Wait! Where's Wini?"
Leylin immediately stood up, suddenly remembering his little sister. His eyes widened when he saw the scene ahead.
A large pool of blood stained the forest floor. Leywini stood silently beside it, staring at the crimson puddle.
Leylin hurried over. As he approached, the thick metallic smell of blood quickly overwhelmed the scent still lingering on his own clothes.
"Wini, what happened? Where's that demonic beast? Why is there such a big pool of blood here?" he asked in confusion.
Leywini pointed at the pool. "This was the ape."
"What?" Leylin froze in shock. How in the world had the demonic chimpanzee ended up like this?
"D-Did... did you do this, Wini?" he asked hesitantly.
The twins also ran over and stared at the enormous pool of blood with wide eyes.
"Mhm." Leywini nodded.
"But... I don't know how I did it. I just wanted to punish it for hurting you..." she said, looking equally confused. "Then, all of a sudden, it became like this."
After a brief pause, Leywini lowered her head and continued guiltily. "I'm sorry, Brother... You got hurt because of me."
Leylin gently rubbed her head. "Don't worry. Let's just go back for now. This place is still too dangerous for us. We can always come back after we've started cultivating."
He did not blame her for bringing them here. After all, he had agreed to the plan despite knowing how dangerous it could be.
Their bodies might have been strengthened by years of living beside the Spiritual Vein, making them much stronger than ordinary children, but they had absolutely no combat experience. They had simply overestimated themselves.
"Mhm..." Leywini replied softly, still feeling guilty.
Leylin immediately activated the mechanism on the spirit beast bag hanging from his waist, signalling Rosy, Ruby, and Revy to come out.
Since he did not share a mental connection with them, he had to use the bag's built-in function instead of summoning them the normal way.
The three beautiful demonic red foxes appeared one after another.
The moment they saw the children's condition and the huge pool of blood nearby, they became alarmed.
Leylin quickly explained what had happened.
Hearing the story, the three foxes became frightened as well and urged the children to return immediately.
Although they were intermediate-level demonic beasts, they had lived sheltered lives since birth. Unlike their extraordinary mother, Scarlet, they had never experienced real battles.
They doubted the three of them together could even defeat a single demonic beast of the same level.
Without another word, the four children quickly climbed onto Scarlet's daughters, abandoning their plan of helping Leylin tame a flying demonic beast.
However, just as they were about to leave the forest...
The surrounding trees suddenly began to rustle violently.
Leaves shook. Branches swayed. Heavy footsteps echoed from every direction.
Within moments, they found themselves completely surrounded by a troop of demonic chimpanzees. Some stood on the forest floor. Others crouched high among the branches.
There were so many that the children could not even count them all.
One after another, furious roars erupted throughout the forest, shaking the air itself.
Rosy, Ruby, and Revy froze in place. Their bodies trembled uncontrollably, their tails tucked tightly beneath them. They were simply too terrified to move.
At that moment, regret filled Leylin's heart. He should never have secretly brought everyone here.
There was no way they could survive against so many demonic chimpanzees. If his sisters died here... It would all be his fault.
Dad... please help us...
He prayed silently, clenching his fists as fear gripped his heart.
