I Can Give Talents
Chapter 588 - Going Home
Chapter 588: Chapter 588 - Going Home
Once Leyvi was fully healed by Anda’s healing elixir, the three of them immediately returned to the wedding hall.
The atmosphere had changed completely.
Many of the guests who had previously looked at Leyvi as though he were an insignificant nobody now regarded him with obvious respect. After all, most of them were scholars, and scholars admired talent above all else.
After witnessing Leyvi’s performance, they finally believed that Bardan’s requirement for a truly exceptional young man to marry his daughter had been fulfilled.
His Spiritual Cultivation talent alone was already astonishing, but what truly left them speechless was his mastery of Qi explosions.
It was normal for a cultivator to unleash such devastating destructive power by detonating their core, as the core contained an immense amount of highly condensed Qi.
However, Leyvi had produced a similar level of destruction without resorting to core detonation.
That alone placed him in a league of his own.
No one else dared fight the way he did.
Most experts who specialized in explosive Qi techniques would gradually transition to long-range detonation methods as their explosions became stronger and stronger. Their own bodies simply could no longer withstand the backlash of fighting at close range.
Yet Leyvi had somehow endured it.
Perhaps that was precisely why the destructive power of his Qi explosions had reached such a terrifying level.
If his attacks were already this frightening in the Core Formation Realm...
Just how terrifying would they become after he advanced to a higher realm?
In front of all the guests, Bardan officially announced the engagement between Leyvi and Barbara, adding that the wedding date would be decided and announced at a later time.
Leyvi was perfectly fine with that arrangement.
There was no need to rush into the marriage.
Besides, after returning home, he planned to enter a long period of semi-secluded cultivation.
Semi-seclusion meant that most of his time would be devoted to cultivation, but he would not lock himself inside a cultivation room all day. He didn’t want to miss watching his children grow up.
That said, he probably wouldn’t be leaving the Leyan Family estate for many years.
After the engagement announcement, Barcas and Livana’s wedding festivities finally returned to schedule.
A grand wedding parade wound through the town, with the streets lined by cheering guests and townsfolk. Colorful banners fluttered overhead while flower petals drifted through the air. Children ran alongside the procession, laughing and waving excitedly. Musicians filled the streets with lively melodies, and the aroma of freshly prepared food wafted from stalls specially set up for the celebration.
The parade eventually returned to the grand hall, where the wedding banquet officially began.
Round tables overflowed with exquisite dishes, while the hall echoed with cheerful conversations, laughter, and the constant clinking of glasses.
Unlike Leyvi and Caterina’s extravagant seven-day wedding, Barcas and Livana’s celebration lasted for only a single day.
By the time the sun dipped below the horizon, the festivities had gradually come to an end, and most of the guests had already departed.
Of course, the Leyan Family didn’t return home immediately. They had traveled a great distance to attend the wedding after all.
Leyvi originally intended to stay for only a few days, but Barbara insisted that he remain longer so they could spend more time together. In the end, he agreed, and the Leyan Family extended their stay to two weeks.
As for the group of Spiritual Cultivators, they returned to the academy together with Kajol two days after the wedding.
During Leyvi’s stay, one thing left Barbara completely speechless.
Every time she finally found an opportunity to spend time alone with her fiancé, her father would somehow appear.
Not because Bardan still opposed their relationship. Quite the opposite. He simply wanted to spend time with Leyvi.
Didn’t you oppose him so fiercely at first? Now you’re the one coming over every single day. Father... let your daughter spend some time with her fiancé.
Barbara found herself thinking exactly that every time Bardan took Leyvi away.
Bardan, on the other hand, had developed a great liking for his future son-in-law. Besides that, he had also become deeply interested in Leyvi’s core.
Every day, he came to visit Leyvi, not only to chat but also to study his core. The more he observed it, the more fascinated he became.
Leyvi’s core was incredibly small compared to an ordinary Core Formation Realm cultivator’s core, yet it contained a ridiculous amount of energy.
When Leyvi explained that this was the result of successfully stabilizing a collapsing core, Bardan was thoroughly shocked.
In the first place, the quality of a cultivator’s core depended on how condensed it was. The denser the core, the more Qi it could store and the greater the power its owner could exert.
This revelation immediately gave Bardan an entirely new research direction.
Perhaps, under the right conditions, allowing a core to collapse was not necessarily a disaster. Instead, it might become a process that further condenses the core beyond its natural limit.
If the collapsing core could be stabilized successfully, the result might be an extraordinarily condensed core like Leyvi’s.
However, Bardan also understood how difficult such research would be.
Who would willingly allow their core to collapse, risking their entire cultivation journey, just to test a theory?
One mistake would ruin a cultivator’s life forever.
Even so, if he could somehow make this research successful, it would undoubtedly become another monumental breakthrough for the cultivation world.
It might even surpass every achievement he had made throughout his life.
The significance of such a discovery was enormous.
The amount of energy contained within a cultivator’s core directly affected the size of their Nascent Soul after advancing to the Nascent Soul Realm.
A Nascent Soul was formed when the Sea of Consciousness merged with the core. In essence, it was the process of infusing one’s consciousness with highly refined energy until the two became a single entity.
From that point onward, a cultivator’s consciousness could survive even without a physical body.
Generally, the larger the Nascent Soul, the more stable and powerful it became. However, for most Nascent Soul Realm cultivators, their Nascent Soul was still incapable of doing much outside the body besides preserving their life. Only after advancing to the next realm would the soul become strong enough to display true combat abilities.
But if his theory proved correct...
Future cultivators might be able to form Nascent Souls that were powerful enough to fight independently of their physical bodies.
If that became reality, it would mark yet another tremendous leap forward in the cultivation world.
Aside from studying Leyvi’s core, Bardan also gave him pointers on how to control his Qi more efficiently.
Using his ocular technique, Bardan could clearly see that Leyvi’s Qi circulation and control were extremely rough, as though no one had ever properly guided him before. A significant amount of Qi was being wasted every time it circulated through his meridians.
Although Leyvi possessed such an enormous Qi reserve that the waste hardly mattered in battle, Bardan insisted that this was still a crucial skill to master.
The reason was simple. The later fusion between the Sea of Consciousness and the core required extremely delicate Qi control.
That process was both lengthy and highly unstable. Even the slightest imperfection in Qi circulation would increase the risk of failure.
As a result, what was originally planned to be a two-week stay eventually became a full month because of Leyvi’s daily sessions with Bardan.
During that month, Leyvi learned an incredible amount from his future father-in-law.
Besides refining his Qi control, Bardan also taught him the high-pressure water jet technique.
Since Bardan had noticed Leyvi’s lack of long-range attacks during their duel, he believed this technique suited him perfectly.
First, Leyvi possessed a water elemental affinity.
Second, he was exceptionally skilled at charging and accumulating Qi, one of the fundamental requirements for using the technique.
Without being able to compress a tremendous amount of Qi into an extremely small area, it would be impossible to release a high-pressure stream of water capable of cutting through almost anything.
Leyvi couldn’t have been happier.
Among all the water-element martial skills he had encountered so far, this was the first one that genuinely excited him.
At the moment, however, he was still far from mastering it.
Every time he attempted to fire the compressed water beam from his fingertips, it exploded the instant it left his hand instead of forming a stable jet.
Still, he considered it good progress.
He was confident that with enough practice, he would eventually figure it out.
...
"Why don’t you stay for another month? Or maybe even a year? Barbara would surely love that." Barbara’s mother, Xenania, suggested.
"Thank you for the offer, Mother-in-law." Leyvi smiled politely. "But we’ve already been away from home for quite a while."
"Ah, what a pity." The valiant woman sighed. "Who knows how long it’ll be before I hear you call me ’Mother-in-law’ again."
"Hahaha! Don’t worry, Mother-in-law. Livana is still here to call you that. She can fulfill that duty on my behalf." Leyvi joked.
"Pfft." Both Barbara and Xenania couldn’t help but laugh.
"Hmph, brat." Bardan snorted. "Don’t forget to practice my high-pressure water beam technique. The next time we meet, you’d better be able to slice a hill in half just like I did. If you can’t, I’ll nullify the engagement."
Leyvi chuckled inwardly. Although Bardan always spoke to him in that gruff tone, it was obvious by now that he already treated him as a future son-in-law.
"Dad!" Barbara pouted. "What are you saying? Stop adding unnecessary conditions to make things difficult for him. I’m still angry that you tried to bully him a month ago!"
"Barbara, it’s fine." Leyvi smiled. "Your father has actually been very kind to me."
"Really?" Barbara looked unconvinced. "Why don’t I see it? He treats you so differently from how he treats me."
"That’s because you’re his daughter, while I’m the one trying to take you away from him." Leyvi laughed. "It’s only natural."
Bardan’s mouth twitched. This brat is becoming more and more daring.
They continued chatting and joking for a while longer before finally saying their farewells.
And so, after spending an entire month within the Buchanan Family’s territory, the Leyan Family finally began their journey back to the South Region.
They were heading home.
