Chapter 47 - 45: Powerful Youth
Chapter 47: Chapter 45: Powerful Youth
The Little White Wolf’s relentless mockery left the youths standing opposite them burning with anger. In the real world, every single one of them was of noble status, surrounded by an entourage wherever they went. Who would dare speak to them with such disrespect? Yet, the moment they entered the Void God Realm, they had actually run into this foul-mouthed Little White Wolf.
To go from being revered to being utterly despised... This massive psychological gap was the hardest thing for youngsters to swallow. For those of high status whose minds were yet immature, it was completely unbearable. The three youths’ faces flushed bright red.
"What an insolent monster! Didn’t your master teach you basic manners?" one of the youths demanded, glaring at Su Tan.
Since entering the Void God Realm, Su Tan’s focus hadn’t been entirely on these people. He felt a sense of loss, having just discovered that he still didn’t have his vision. Logically speaking, the Void God Realm was a Virtual World. By logging in directly with his Divine Sense, he should have been able to receive all external information, including visual input. Objectively, his Divine Sense was in direct contact with the Virtual World. Since that was the case, he should have been able to see external things without needing physical eyes. However... Su Tan still couldn’t see.
It was as if his loss of sight wasn’t simply a matter of his eyes failing him. It was a complete loss of the visual sense itself—whether he had eyes or not, he was blind. It felt as though something was actively blocking him from "seeing." This was troublesome!
Su Tan had agreed so readily to enter with the Little White Wolf not just to search for Cultivation Techniques. His other reason was his desire to see things beyond the monotonous colors of his system. The Void God Realm was a network world constructed by Great Powers to serve as a communication platform for the masses. To keep it from being dull, those Great Powers had crafted every blade of grass and every tree to look exactly like reality. He truly wanted to see this world. Or rather, having been blind for so long, he simply wanted to see the colors of the world again.
Seeing Su Tan standing aloof to the side, the youths grew even more furious. It was one thing for the Little White Wolf to be rude, but they had directly complained to him. Even if he wanted to be protective of his pet, he should have at least smoothed things over symbolically by pretending to scold it. That way, the conflict would diffuse, giving both sides a way out. Instead, he just stood there coldly, staring at them with an emotionless gaze. What was that supposed to mean? Did he want a fight?
What they didn’t know was that Su Tan’s emotionless eyes actually couldn’t see a thing; naturally, they wouldn’t convey any expression. Feeling slighted, the youths were indignantly unbalanced.
"What, looking for a fight? This is the first layer of the Void God Realm. Even if your cultivation in the outside world is sky-high, you can only have a maximum of a ninth-layer Body Refinement cultivation here. We aren’t afraid of you!" These young boys were hot-blooded, eager to resort to violence at the drop of a hat. Even though they were young, they didn’t believe they were inferior to anyone in the same realm. At this age, youths were arrogant and naturally flaunted their edge. Even if a Great Emperor arrived, they would still want to test their mettle against him. This was the essence of youth. If they weren’t arrogant, could they even be called young?
Su Tan snapped back to reality. He had no intention of fussing over a bunch of kids, let alone fighting them. He had been young once himself, completely fearless. He understood exactly what these brats were thinking. Of course, his reluctance to argue with them didn’t stem from fear, nor did it mean he was old and lacked spirit. He simply found it meaningless. There was no need to bicker with a group of brats; it was entirely pointless. Besides, Su Tan hadn’t come here to fight. Furthermore, the Little White Wolf had indeed been a bit too foul-mouthed, putting them in the wrong.
"If you want a fight, let’s fight! You think I’m afraid of you? Have you brats never experienced a harsh beating from reality?" the Little White Wolf retorted.
"Experienced a harsh beating from reality." Su Tan had once used that exact phrase to discipline the disobedient Little White Wolf, and he never expected the creature to pick it up.
"Hah! My True Dragon Technique just broke through recently, and I was just worrying about not having a sparring partner!" A young boy opposite them looked eager to try. Despite his young age, the kid’s cultivation wasn’t low at all. Many young masters of cultivation clans began training from a very young age, granting them quite respectable strength. This was especially true in the first layer. The ninth layer of Body Refinement was the peak limit here. In terms of pure physical strength, how much stronger could one person be compared to another? Moreover, the True Dragon Technique was of an extraordinary grade. The boy was confident that with his tempered physique, few in the first layer of the Void God Realm could match him.
"Wait..." Just as the situation reached a breaking point, Su Tan spoke up. "It’s just a simple disagreement, not worth shedding blood over. I doubt you all came to the Void God Realm purely to fight. My brother’s attitude is indeed a bit problematic, and I apologize on his behalf. Let’s keep the peace and just let this go, alright?" He had been distracted just a moment ago.
"Hmph, you’re only speaking up now? Are you scared?" The brat sneered, already charging over. "Also... you’re wrong. We came to the Void God Realm specifically to fight!"
Some prominent families would intermittently bring their younger generation into the Void God Realm for training. Since dying in combat here didn’t result in real-world death, they could fight to their hearts’ content. For families who didn’t want to lose their scions needlessly, the Void God Realm was the perfect training ground.
"Why waste your breath on them? This is the Void God Realm! Why keep a low profile? Once we leave, who knows who? Why wrong yourself!" Aside from Su Tan, the Little White Wolf didn’t give a damn about anyone else. It was extremely arrogant and overbearing. With that, the Little White Wolf dashed out, aiming to teach the three brats a lesson.
Su Tan shrugged. This guy was really... a total keyboard warrior! In reality, it wasn’t necessarily this irritable, but here in the Void God Realm, where it couldn’t die no matter how wildly it acted, it had completely let loose and was doing whatever it wanted. Fine... if it wanted to fight, then so be it.
Su Tan couldn’t see, but his other senses were incredibly sharp. This was especially true in the Void God Realm, where he was directly utilizing his Divine Sense. While his visual sense was still non-existent, he felt his hearing, touch, and smell had been elevated by several levels. He could hear distant sounds and pick up scents from far away. Consequently, Su Tan could tell exactly how many people were standing opposite him. Aside from the three youths cursing at the Little White Wolf, there should be two more people. One had a steady aura and carried the scent of age, likely an old man. The other possessed surging vitality, likely a very strong young man.
THUMP THUMP THUMP!
The Little White Wolf’s physical body was not weak. Aside from those with special Physiques, no other creature could compare to it in sheer physical strength. The moment it pounced, its pocket-sized body rapidly expanded into a fierce, ferocious White Wolf. With a single swipe of its claw, the three youths charging at it were unceremoniously swatted away. They couldn’t even withstand a single exchange.
"Brats, you’re way too weak!" the Little White Wolf said nonchalantly.
THUD THUD THUD!
The three youths crashed into the ground.
"You..." Clutching their chests, they were a mix of shame and fury. The True Dragon Technique... they thought they were invincible against ordinary peers of the same realm, yet they had lost so quickly? Truthfully, the brats never imagined they would lose so decisively.
"I told you, I’m going to let you taste a harsh beating from reality!" the Little White Wolf mocked unreservedly.
Low profile! What did it mean to keep a low profile? The Little White Wolf had no idea. It only knew how to infuriate people. Having been oppressed for too long under a certain Su’s despotic power, it desperately needed to let off some steam.
"Enough!" the cold-looking young man whom Su Tan had been paying attention to all along finally stepped forward. "My younger cousins might be lacking in skill, but it’s still not your place to insult them!
"I originally had no intention of making a move, but you are truly detestable. I’ll make you taste the consequences of insulting my family!"
"Another arrogant brat?" the Little White Wolf said dismissively.
"Heh..." The young man darted forward.
The Little White Wolf had been completely unconcerned at first, but as the young man drew closer, it suddenly sensed a terrifying aura!
"This... this aura..." the Little White Wolf muttered. It was so strong! It had only ever felt something like this from Su Tan... Wait... an aura as powerful as Su Tan’s? Could it be...
The Little White Wolf suddenly realized something. Terrified, it stared in sheer disbelief at the young man charging over. No wonder this guy was so good at acting tough; he wasn’t simple at all... Su Tan and this young man... Was this coincidence, or destiny?
