Chapter 630: The Sun No Monster Can Face ( Ps Bonus Chapter )

When the path of the light was short, it was easier to control, but as the distance increased, maintaining his focus became more difficult.

Of course, he could solve this problem by practicing and using more mana, so it was a problem that could be solved, just at a small cost.

He also tried to fire beams like the ones the Leviathan had fired, and although it was a little more difficult, it was still possible.

He only realized that creating very large beams also consumed a lot of mana, but considering how much destructive power they had, especially when combined with End Energy and Eclipse, it was worth it.

Lian lowered his hand for a moment, and he was satisfied with this result as well.

He had now discovered another use for his talent, which he could turn into a more effective attack method with more practice.

He continued experimenting with his talent.

For a moment, he thought about another possible use for it.

If an enemy had a very powerful defensive barrier, perhaps he could weaken part of it with Corrupt Light before launching his main attack.

Of course, this method still required time, enough light, and precise energy control, so he could not use it without limits in every situation.

But it was worth learning.

Very much worth it.

The third experiment was more interesting to Lian.

He fought most of his battles with his fists.

So if he could combine Corrupt Light with physical attacks, his talent would become much more useful.

He raised his right hand and gathered a small amount of Corrupt Light around his knuckles.

At first, a very thin layer of energy formed over his skin, but when he threw a test punch into the air, the flow of light broke apart.

Part of the energy scattered, while the rest fell behind the movement of his arm.

Lian looked at his hand for a moment.

It’s harder to coordinate it with fast movements.

He tried again, but this time, instead of keeping the energy active throughout the entire movement, he decided to focus it right before impact.

His fist moved toward the rock in front of him, and during the final part of its path, Corrupt Light gathered around his knuckles.

Bang!

His fist struck the rock and completely shattered it, sending large and small pieces flying in every direction.

However, this result did not show him anything new, because he could have shattered the same rock even without Corrupt Light.

So this time, he decided to test it on an even larger rock and created several layers of mana around it as defensive barriers.

His fist struck the stone surface, producing a short impact sound, but at the same time, Corrupt Light at the point of contact penetrated the defensive layers.

The mana covering the impact area began to break down.

And before the defensive flow could transfer the force of the punch to other parts, part of its structure was destroyed.

Lian pulled his hand back and looked at the point of impact.

This time, the result was clear, the physical impact had damaged the rock and completely shattered it, but before that, Corrupt Light had destroyed all the defensive layers.

This is much better.

If he used this combination against an enemy with strong defenses, he might be able to put two different kinds of pressure on them at the same time.

Physical force and the erosion of their defenses.

Of course, he still needed to improve his control.

During fast attacks, if he did not release the Corrupt Light at the right moment, a large part of the energy would be wasted before impact, but even this basic version was useful for a fighter who mostly fought with his fists.

For a moment, Lian thought about his skill, Disaster Suppression Fist.

If he combined the two, the destructive power of his punches would become terrifying, and he doubted that ordinary defenses would have any effect against his fists anymore.

He lowered his right hand.

He now understood several new ways to use Corrupt Sun.

He gave a faint smile, at least it was worth practicing, so after finishing his experiments, he sat on one of the white rocks for a while.

His gaze moved toward the sky.

The Hollow Sun was still high in the distance, its enormous black pupil remained open, and the golden rings around it continued to rotate slowly.

For a moment, he thought about the events of the previous day.

Amelie had been killed without having a chance to defend herself, the golden barrier had turned into an impenetrable wall, the ground was splitting apart, and creatures with mutated bodies were emerging from the depths.

Among all these events, one thing still seemed strange to him.

The Withered’s fear of the sun.

He remembered the tall, black creature whose entire body had started shaking when it saw the sun’s pupil.

That creature even knew the name Judge.

But why?

Had it encountered the sun in the past?

Or were all The Withered instinctively afraid of the sun’s power?

Lian thought for a moment.

"Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to ask another monster too."

At the moment, he had three special members in his colony.

Despite their strength, the first two members did not know much about the history or unknown structures of the Ruined Realm.

However, the third member, the Dreadmaw Sovereign, was an Unholy-rank monster that had ruled its own territory for more than thirty years.

Its intelligence and experience were different from those of ordinary monsters, so perhaps it knew something about the Hollow Sun or the surrounding area.

Of course, there was no guarantee, but there was no harm in asking.

Then he activated the Hive Dominion talent.

Thousands of points of light appeared in front of him, and the particles slowly came together, forming the enormous body of the colony’s third special member a few seconds later.

As soon as the Dreadmaw Sovereign appeared, it raised its head, looked around for a moment, and then fixed its gaze on Lian.

"So you finally decided to summon me?" Its voice still carried the same roughness and pride as before.

"I have a question."

Three furrowed its bony eyebrows for a moment.

"I hope you didn’t drag me away from my rest just to ask some worthless question."

Ignoring its tone, Lian pointed toward the sky.

"Do you know what that is?"

The Sovereign raised its head, and at that very moment, its entire body went stiff, it did not move for several seconds, and even its breathing stopped.

Its red eyes remained fixed on the enormous rings of the Hollow Sun.

At first, Lian thought the creature had recognized something, but he soon realized that something else was happening.

The Sovereign’s enormous fingers began to tremble.

The muscles in its arms tightened, and its nails dug so deeply into its own palms that dark blood ran between its fingers.

Lian narrowed his eyes.

What happened?

Three took a step backward, its movement was unsteady, its right foot dragged across the rock, and it almost lost its balance for a moment.

It tried to look away from the sky, but it seemed that something deep inside it would not allow it to lower its head.

A short, broken breath escaped its throat.

"That..."

Its hand moved toward its chest.

"What is that...?"

"You’re supposed to tell me." The young Vorhelm did not move from his place.

But this time, the Dreadmaw Sovereign gave no proud answer, instead, it shook its head violently.

"I don’t know!"

Its voice was broken, and this was what truly caught its master’s attention.

He had never heard the Dreadmaw Sovereign speak in such a tone before, this was the same creature that had ruled its mountain for thirty years.

The same monster that had killed many people and carried out terrible experiments to create a human body for itself.

And even when it was defeated by Lian and Seris, it had never completely set aside its pride.

But now, its body was shaking so badly that it could barely stand properly, its knees bent, and it dropped onto one knee with a heavy sound.

Thud!

The stone beneath its knee cracked, and the Sovereign placed its hand on the ground to keep itself from falling completely.

But its fingers were still trembling.

Through the Colony Link, Lian felt a strong change in its emotional state.

Fear.

But it was not ordinary fear, nor was it the feeling of danger one experienced when facing a powerful enemy, instead, it was a deep and almost paralyzing terror that seemed to come from somewhere beyond the creature’s conscious control.

The Sovereign wanted to run away.

Its entire being was demanding it.

But it could not even figure out which direction it should move in.

Lian paid attention to this feeling for a moment, even through the link, its intensity was abnormal.

Interesting...

He had seen weaker monsters feel pressure and fear when facing creatures of higher ranks before.

But this time, the situation was much more serious, Three had not even been attacked yet, and the Hollow Sun had shown no direct interest in it.

Even so, simply looking at it was enough to make an Unholy-rank creature react this way.

Lian walked a few steps closer.

"Three."

The monster struggled to turn its head slightly.

"Have you ever seen anything like that before?"

Three took several short, broken breaths and then shook its head.

"No... never..."

"Then why are you so afraid?"

The Sovereign opened its mouth, but no words came out for several seconds, and the muscles in its neck remained tense... Finally, it answered in a hoarse voice.

"I don’t know..."

It pressed its fingers against the stone.

"It’s just... I feel that if that thing looks at me..."

Its sentence remained unfinished.

Lian waited, but the Sovereign could not continue, instead, it struggled to lower its head, its eyes still trembling.

"I don’t want to stay here." It said in a much quieter voice.

Lian looked at it for several seconds.

Then The Withered probably felt the same way.

He could now understand their reaction to some extent, they had been unusually terrified when they saw the sun.

Some had tried to return underground, while others had been unable to move from their places, and now, an intelligent Unholy-rank creature was showing a similar reaction.

This showed that the Hollow Sun’s effect on monster-like creatures could be much deeper than Lian had imagined.

"Do you know anything about this land or that sun? Even a legend or an old name?" he asked one last time.

"No... nothing..." Three shook its head with difficulty.

Then it continued in an almost pleading voice.

"Send me back."

The young Vorhelm did not insist any further.

He activated Colony Sovereign, and the monster’s enormous body turned into thousands of points of light, which disappeared a few moments later.

Three had returned to the Colony House.

Lian remained in the same place for a while, his gaze fixed on the sun’s black pupil.

So even an Unholy-rank creature can’t stand its presence.

This alone did not reveal the Hollow Sun’s true power.

But it was a serious warning.

He let out a calm breath, it seemed that the situation was more complicated and worse than any of them had thought.
