Chapter 590: Dragon Body

"Apparently, you made good use of the river."

"Thank you, Father." Seris lowered her head slightly.

Rhaenar turned his gaze to Lian.

"Well, how did a month of training feel?"

Lian thought for a moment, then gave a slight shrug.

"It was boring, but the results weren’t bad."

The Patriarch looked at him for a few seconds, then laughed.

"You spent an entire month in one of my family’s most valuable training resources, and the best thing you can say about it is that the results weren’t bad?"

He then leaned back in his chair and turned his gaze to his daughter.

"And you?"

"I’m satisfied." Seris replied.

Rhaenar raised an eyebrow.

"That’s all?"

"Yes."

"You spent thirty days training in Dragon Blood, and your father gave you access to one of the family’s most valuable rewards, yet all I hear is that you’re satisfied?"

She looked at him for a few seconds.

"I’m very satisfied."

Lian couldn’t hide his laughter.

Rhaenar let out a dramatic sigh.

For a while, their conversation continued with simple topics. He asked about the pressure of the river and how much his daughter could withstand, and Seris explained that during the first few weeks, she had been forced to reduce the speed at which she absorbed energy several times.

When Lian mentioned that his body had also reacted strongly to the blood during the first few days, Rhaenar nodded with satisfaction.

"Good. That means you allowed your bodies to adapt to the energy instead of destroying yourselves by rushing."

The young Vorhelm looked at him.

"I don’t think anyone wants their body to fall apart in the middle of training."

"Believe me, some of the young members of my family are willing to take that risk just to become stronger faster." Rhaenar gave Seris a meaningful look.

But the girl seemed indifferent.

Lian gave a faint smile. Apparently, the Patriarch had a lot of experience dealing with children who were too obsessed with power.

However, after a few minutes, Rhaenar closed the report on his desk. His expression became a little more serious.

"Now that both of you have Ancestral Marks, there’s something you should know before you leave."

"Do you know why none of the Pendragon Enlightened have Dragon Marks?"

The Enlightened were Awakened who had completed three evolutions.

He asked the question calmly.

Lian glanced at the Mark on the back of his hand for a moment.

As far as he knew, the Pendragons could use the Mark’s blessing until their third evolution, then consume it to form a Dragon Body.

But the details of this process were still not completely clear to him.

"To form a Dragon Body." Seris answered.

"Correct. But that’s only the visible result."

He raised his right hand. A very weak flow of mana moved across his fingers, then disappeared without him activating any special skill.

"Most people think a Dragon Body means a stronger body, stronger muscles, or better compatibility with different types of energy, these are all part of the result, but they’re not the most important part."

His gaze settled on Lian’s Mark.

"The Mark gives you a blessing that you can use as long as the structure of the Mark exists, but that power hasn’t fully become a part of your own existence yet."

Lian remembered the two black wings behind him. Until now, whenever he had activated the blessing, his Ancestral Mark had responded to it.

But in the end, those wings did not truly belong to him.

Rhaenar continued,

"When you form a Dragon Body, you’re not simply creating a new body, you have to connect the nature of the blessing to your body and soul, so that it no longer depends on the existence of the Mark."

"Does that mean the blessing becomes an innate ability?" The young Vorhelm thought for a moment before asking.

"Exactly."

The Patriarch smiled.

"The wings you’ve gained will no longer be something you simply summon from your Mark, they’ll become part of your own structure, and after that, they’ll continue to grow along with you."

This answer was very interesting to Lian.

The Wings of God already allowed him to fly at an incredible speed, create armor, and release an extremely powerful tornado.

If he could turn such power into a true part of his own existence, its future would no longer depend entirely on the survival of the Mark, especially since he had to remember that these Marks could be destroyed.

Rhaenar looked at Seris.

"The same applies to your Ancestral Dragon manifestation. Once you properly form your Dragon Body, that manifestation will no longer be just a temporary blessing."

"But I doubt forming this [Dragon Body] will be easy." The young Vorhelm added.

"That’s right, and that brings us to the difficult part."

Lian raised an eyebrow.

"I guess you’re not going to tell us to just sit around and wait until our third evolution."

Rhaenar laughed.

"No, unfortunately, I can’t make this one easy for you."

[Heavenly Dragon Marrow]

He stated the name with emphasis.

"You need this material to form a Dragon Body."

Lian repeated the name in his mind, Heavenly Dragon Marrow. He didn’t even know such a material existed.

The Patriarch explained,

"This material can be found in certain areas of the Heavenly Realm, places where the remains of powerful ancient dragons exist. Not all samples have the same quality or nature, and not every material is suitable for every Mark."

He then pointed at the Mark on Lian’s hand.

"For example, the structure of your wings is different from Seris’s dragon manifestation. If both of you use an unsuitable sample, you might not be able to fully stabilize your blessings inside your bodies."

"Doesn’t the Pendragon Family have a supply of it?" Lian asked after thinking for a moment.

Rhaenar smiled.

"Even if we did, I wouldn’t simply give it to you."

He looked at him and continued,

"Anyone who wants to form a Dragon Body must find suitable material for themselves in the Heavenly Realm. This isn’t just a family rule, searching for, choosing, and obtaining that material are all part of the preparation for the final process."

Seris nodded without objecting, and Lian also kept this information in mind.

Entering the Heavenly Realm was impossible before reaching level sixty.

On the other hand, this was only one of the reasons he now had for entering that world.

Training resources for the Indestructible Body, resources for the Golden Nine-Dragon Soul, and Heavenly Dragon Marrow.

And perhaps answers to some of the mysteries he still had about Demons and beings above them.

He gave a faint smile.

After finishing his explanation, Rhaenar turned his gaze to his daughter.

"By the way, I have another piece of news for you. Our forces found a hidden area near one of the bases in the Ruined Realm, and the investigation teams still haven’t been able to identify every part of it. Its structure is different from the surrounding areas."

"Does it have powerful monsters?" Seris asked.

Rhaenar looked at her for a moment, then laughed.

"Of course, we still don’t know what’s inside, and that’s one of the reasons we’ve restricted large-scale entry."

He then leaned forward slightly.

"Now that your refinement is complete, I think it’s time for you to return to the Ruined Realm. It might be a good idea for you to take a look at that area yourself."

The young Pendragon nodded without hesitation.

"Okay."

Her father smiled and looked at Lian.

"You can go with her if you want."

"I don’t think I can go with her. There’s somewhere I need to be." Lian answered without thinking. It was almost time for him to head to the Land of First Dawn.

Rhaenar looked at him for a few moments, then nodded. The young Vorhelm took the opportunity to change the subject.

"By the way, I wanted to ask about what happened during this past month."

"You mean the Silver Elves?"

"More than anything, yes, but I have other questions too."

The Patriarch nodded.

"I thought you’d ask about this."

His expression slowly became more serious.

"We decided to start with a few limited operations. The goal was to identify the facilities connected to the infiltration of Earth and make it clear to the Elves that such an act wouldn’t go unanswered."

"But apparently, the results weren’t exactly what you expected." Hearing his tone, Lian could figure out at least that much.
