I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents
Chapter 573: Wings Of God
The black scales overlapped each other, with shiny edges, and very thin lines of dark light flowed through some parts of the bone structure.
Their beauty was strange.
Even within the vast Prison of the Demon of End, Lian’s new wings had an appearance that was difficult to ignore.
When he spread them, the air around him was pushed backward.
The shadow of the wings covered a large part of the broken platform.
For a moment, he felt as if two new limbs had been added to his body.
He could move even the smallest parts of them, change the angle of each wing, and even feel the air pressure building beneath them.
Seris glanced at him, and it was not difficult for her to understand that he had obtained them as the Blessing of an Ancestral Dragon Mark.
But before she could ask for more details, the roar of the Demon of End shook the prison once again.
The dragon’s massive claw came down toward them.
Lian did not even have time to test all the abilities of his new wings, and could only think about moving.
The two black wings spread open.
Whoosh!
His body shot up from the platform at a terrifying speed, and for a moment, the distance between him and the Demon of End almost disappeared.
However, this speed was different from Reinar’s spatial movement.
Lian had actually moved, while that man bent space-time according to his own will.
Air pressure struck his armor, and the stones beneath the place where he had taken off shifted due to the wave of force created by his wings opening.
In the middle of his movement, he folded one of his wings.
His direction changed.
The Demon of End’s claw passed through the place where he had been a moment ago.
BOOOOOOM!
Part of the platform shattered.
Lian turned his body in the air and headed back toward Seris, but this time, instead of landing, he remained suspended several meters above the platform.
True flight, with a speed that, if he released the full power of the Blessing, would be dozens of times greater than even his maximum running speed.
Of course, he could also feel the mana consumption.
The faster he moved, the more energy left his body.
So, for now, he did not use his full capacity, saving it for a time when he truly needed it.
She looked up at him from below, and her gaze remained on his black wings for a moment.
Lian gave a faint smile.
"What do you think?"
"They’re good and... beautiful." Seris answered after a short pause.
He laughed.
"That was a huge compliment."
But the girl was no longer looking at him, she had raised her sword, and behind her, something began to take shape in the darkness.
First, two golden eyes opened, and then a deep roar echoed through the prison.
A massive amount of mana gathered behind her and slowly took shape.
A magnificent dragon’s head with long golden horns, a neck covered in silver-white scales, and two massive wings with lines of cold light flowing between them.
When the manifestation was complete, a dragon stood behind Seris.
Its body was semi-material, but the pressure of its presence was so real that even the air around the girl changed.
The moonlight that had previously formed behind her was now moving around the manifestation.
Two different powers, yet strangely in sync.
Lian looked at the scene for a moment, if he was not mistaken, this dragon manifestation should be the Blessing Seris had obtained from her Ancestral Dragon Mark, now he just needed to see what its abilities were.
The Demon of End noticed it as well, and its massive eyes remained fixed on the manifestation for a moment.
"This..."
Its voice grew heavier.
"You damn Pendragons, you’re using my Dragon Pearl in such a stupid way?"
Then it raised its partially freed arm again.
Lian saw the direction of its movement.
"Seris, now!"
The girl nodded and raised her sword, while the massive manifestation of the Ancestral Dragon moved behind her as well, the concept of her Blessing was simple.
She could create a dragon phantom and combine it with her attack, and the result was an increase of up to 3333% in her attack power.
Silver mana gathered along the blade.
The moon phantom grew brighter, and the dragon behind Seris opened its mouth.
For a moment, the sounds of two roars merged.
She swung her sword downward.
At the same time, the dragon phantom followed the same path, and the power of the sword strike and the force of the manifestation merged at a single point.
CRRRRAAAAAASH!
A massive slash of silver and golden light struck the damaged part of the Demon of End’s arm.
The sound of the impact echoed throughout the prison, and several old scales that already had cracks in them shattered.
The dragon’s massive claw stopped in the middle of its movement.
Then it moved back several meters.
Even Lian was surprised by the result for a moment.
Seris was only at the first evolution, yet she had managed to push back the partially freed arm of a being in the Demon rank.
Of course, this was not because her power was truly superior, the Demon of End was still under the pressure of hundreds of chains and the central spikes.
But even under these conditions, such an attack was no small feat.
The dragon manifestation behind Seris grew fainter.
The girl took a heavy breath, half of her mana had been consumed by that single strike.
The young Vorhelm glanced at her.
"Are you okay?"
The young Pendragon nodded, but this time, it was clear that she could not repeat such an attack one after another.
The Demon of End no longer paid attention to that strike, it raised its hand, and a dark red light moved along its claws.
The space around its arm began to split apart.
Lian immediately understood the nature of the next attack when he saw the black lines.
That monster wanted to use the Essence of End.
This time, its target was not Seris, it was attacking him directly.
He spread his wings and changed direction in the air, the first rift passed beside his body, and the second appeared slightly lower.
Lian turned his body.
The third one formed directly in his escape path, the dragon was reading his movements.
For a moment, he was forced to reduce his speed sharply, but at that moment, he realized that his escape routes were being blocked one after another.
The Demon of End was using its intelligence to take advantage of the prison’s movement restrictions, it could not move its entire body freely.
So instead of chasing Lian, it was targeting the spaces he could use to escape.
Another black rift appeared, this time directly in front of his chest.
The young Vorhelm folded his right wing and turned his body sideways, the edge of the rift passed beside the armor plates.
Part of the armor covering his shoulder came apart without being directly hit, and the ancient armor beneath it cracked.
Severe pain spread through his shoulder.
Lian gritted his teeth and escaped the area.
Damn it.
If he had moved a moment later, that rift could have cut off part of his body, even with his new Blessing, he still could not stand directly against the Essence of End.
Below the platform, One and Two had also noticed the situation.
Both of them had been injured in the previous battle, One’s side armor still had deep cracks, and one of its legs could barely move.
Two was also still standing, but part of the bone armor covering its shoulder was gone.
Lian could feel their pain through the Colony Link, he had no intention of sending them into another direct clash.
But this time, the Demon of End attacked the seal.
Seris was still maintaining the energy flow of the sacrificed Dragon Marks and could not freely move away from her position.
Lian turned in the air, the distance was too great, and he would have to fly at full power to reach her.
And right at that moment, the dragon released one of its rifts of End along the direct path between them.
He was forced to take another route, but this created a delay of several seconds.
And that was enough for the Demon of End.
"Die!"
Its claw came down, targeting the place where the girl was standing.
One moved before everyone else, the massive ant leaped toward Seris, releasing the remaining energy inside its armor as several semi-material arms emerged from its back.
[ Six Hands of Ruin ]
The massive arms moved in front of the rift’s path.
The first impact destroyed one of the arms.
The second one split apart at the same moment.
The massive ant redirected all the pressure toward the ground to make the rift’s path move away from the point where she was standing.
It succeeded for a fraction of a second.
But the next wave struck its black armor directly.
CRAAAAACK!
The thick armor plates broke along its side and chest.
The massive ant’s body was lifted off the ground and slammed into one of the broken pillars.
The sound of the impact echoed through the prison.
One fell to the ground.
One of its legs had bent beneath its body, and its antennae could barely move.
For a moment, the Colony Link was filled with intense pain.
Lian gritted his teeth.
"One!"
But the attack was not over yet.
Two raised its head.
\[ Bone Mountain \]
A massive pile of black bones rose between the remaining part of the rift and Seris, and the rift of End passed through the bones.
A large part of the mountain broke apart almost immediately, but that brief resistance slightly changed the attack’s path.
Two tried to jump backward.
It was too late.
The pressure wave struck its shoulder and side.
BOOOOOOM!
The bone armor covering the wolf’s body broke, and it was dragged several meters across the ground.
Then it tried to stand up... but its front legs trembled and it fell to the ground again...
