I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents
Chapter 531: The Ant Of Ruins
[The first evolution process of the special member has been completed.]
[One.]
[Level: 20.]
[First Evolution: Complete.]
The corner of Lian’s lips rose slightly.
Finally.
But the message was not finished.
[An abnormal phenomenon has been detected.]
Lian paid more attention.
[The original species belonged to the Normal rank.]
[Under normal conditions, the evolution of a Normal monster does not cause an increase in its original rank.]
This was not new to him, evolution and rank were two separate things.
A Normal monster could evolve, its body could change, it could gain new skills, its growth limit could increase, but it would still remain Normal.
Changing from Normal to Fallen was not something that happened just by going through "one evolution."
Rank advancement was a much rarer phenomenon, in fact, it was extremely unusual and extremely rare for it to happen.
But the next notification showed the reason for this exception.
[The special member link of the Colony Sovereign has been detected.]
[Evolution saturation has exceeded the required limit.]
[The quality of the consumed resources is much higher than the basic requirement.]
[Last absorbed Core: Fallen — Level 50.]
[Rank advancement conditions have been met.]
[Rank increased.]
[Normal ← Fallen.]
He looked at the text for a few seconds, this part was much more important than the change in One’s appearance.
Until now, the Colony Sovereign had mostly meant a way for him to create a colony, create links, create special members, and borrow part of their power.
But if this same link had been able to change the evolution path of one of his special members enough to cause a rank advancement, then did this mean that one day all five special members of his colony could become Supreme?
Even thinking about it was crazy, having five Supreme monsters as his subordinates!
Supremes were monsters that were almost described as god-like.
He had already faced powerful beings such as Calamities, but it should not be forgotten that these Calamities did not have combat power themselves, they were conceptual beings that had the power to start the apocalypse in worlds.
They themselves did not have combat power, at least Black Silence was not like that, and they even needed an Anchor and a Vessel, and those two things were already major limitations for them.
But Supremes were not like that, they themselves had the power to destroy a world, he really wanted to know where the world these monsters and apocalyptic concepts came from was.
And did a hierarchy exist there?
If so, where did Supremes and Calamities stand in that hierarchy?
And what about the being that the Calamities called Father?
In any case, this was not something he had an answer for right now, and One’s rank advancement was not free either.
If One had only absorbed the minimum Cores required, this probably would not have happened.
His saturation had remained at a high level for a long time, he had consumed far more resources than necessary.
And his last Core also belonged to a Level 50 Fallen with Corrupted Light.
The Colony Sovereign had made the path possible, but the giant ant had filled that path with its resources.
[Evolved Species: Ant Of Ruin.]
[New Talent acquired.]
[Heir of Ruin — Rank S.]
[Compatibility with forces of destruction and collapse has greatly increased.]
[Ability to use Ruin Energy.]
[Ability to destroy structures, objects, and living beings and completely collapse them from the inside using Ruin Energy.]
[Ability to use Ruin Energy directly in attacks like an Element.]
Lian was satisfied.
More than satisfied.
This path fit One perfectly.
Two was a monster that could break the normal logic of battle and could use the Eight Disasters and provide incredible help in changing the situation.
But One now?
He could directly act like a heavy fighter and destroy anything in his path with all his power.
And if he was not mistaken, Ruin Energy should be something similar to Destruction power.
Kain noticed the expression on his face.
"What happened?"
"One finished his evolution."
"Bring him out." The Child of Light immediately moved away from the edge of the deck.
Lian looked at the floor of the ship and then at his friend.
"You want him to put a hole in the ship?"
Kain remained silent for a few seconds.
"How big did he become?"
"I haven’t seen him yet."
"Then he might not put a hole in it."
"He might."
"Fine. But summon him as soon as we arrive." Kain turned forward with an unhappy expression.
This time Lian did not object, he also wanted to see the result and had no doubt that it would be far beyond his expectations.
It took almost three days to reach their destination, they spent this time enjoying the journey.
Of course, they also encountered sea monsters several times, but Lian and Kain both dealt with them easily.
"We have arrived."
Both of them went to the front of the deck, but there was still nothing but the sea in front of them, blue water continued to the horizon and no land could be seen.
"Arrived where?" Kain looked at the priest.
"There." The man pointed toward the horizon.
At first, Lian saw nothing.
Then he noticed a very thin line of light, as the ship got closer, the line became larger, and ten minutes later it became clear that it was not a line at all....it was a curtain.
A wall of light that started from the surface of the sea and went so high that its end disappeared into the sky.
The light on its surface moved like a curtain in the wind.
The ship did not slow down.
"We’re not going to hit that, right?" Kain looked at it for a few seconds.
The priest did not even turn around.
"No."
"Good."
The distance became smaller.
One hundred meters.
Fifty.
The Child of Light unconsciously placed one hand on the wall, and the ship entered the light directly.
For one second, the world disappeared.
There was no sound and not even wind, the sound of the moving water could no longer be heard either.
Then the colors returned.
Lian remained truly silent for a few seconds, the sea on the other side of the curtain was not the same sea, the water was clearer.
The sky above them, unlike the dead sky that always covered a large part of the Ruined Realm, was bright blue, and groups of white clouds moved calmly across it.
Land could be seen on the horizon, it was completely green.
Farming terraces rose along the gentle slopes, trees grew in neat rows beside water channels.
White towers could be seen between the buildings, and wide waterways came from inside the city toward the sea.
Small ships moved across the water, and birds flew in the sky.
Kain looked at the scene without saying anything, Lian did the same.
What caught his attention more than the towers was the smoke.
A thin column of gray smoke rose from among the buildings near the coast, then a very weak smell reached them with the wind.
Bread.
People were moving along the coast.
Workers were carrying goods.
Fishermen were collecting their nets.
Several children were running on a small pier.
The sound of conversations, laughter, and cart wheels could be heard.
Seeing life in a world that was supposed to be destroyed was truly strange.
This Region had not only survived, it was living, it had no difference from a prosperous and happy civilization, at least from their point of view.
The priest gave them a short look, he probably knew their reaction.
"Welcome to Region Three."
The ship moved toward the main port.
At a close distance, the city was larger than what they had seen from the sea.
White and cream-colored buildings with several floors had been built along the coastal slope.
Most of the roofs were bright and curved, and narrow water channels passed through the streets.
Tall towers stood in different parts of the city, but they did not have the dead and heavy feeling of the Silent Light city.
When the Dream Voyager entered the port, several guards were already standing near the docking area.
The ship’s own seal and the priest’s presence were probably enough to show their identity, but the ordinary people still did not know what had happened.
The ship could not become smaller until everyone got off, a narrow bridge of light formed from the deck to the dock.
The priest went down first.
Several people immediately came toward him, the expressions on their faces changed when they saw his injuries.
The two remaining soldiers went down after him.
A murmur spread through the crowd and everyone wondered where the others were.
Then Kain stepped onto the bridge, and Lian was right behind him.
The moment Kain’s foot touched the white stone of the dock, a very faint light came out of his chest.
He stopped himself.
"I didn’t do anything."
A white point came out of his body.
The Sphere Of Witness appeared beside his shoulder and silently glowed.
For two seconds, nothing happened...then the sound of something falling onto stone was heard.
Clack.
An old priest several dozen meters away had dropped the container he was carrying.
A woman covered her mouth with her hand, and a young boy standing beside some fish boxes stared at the sphere with his mouth open.
"The Sphere Of Witness..." someone whispered.
"Impossible." Someone else answered.
The murmur moved through the port like a wave.
"Is that really it?"
"Did we...really get the Divine of Light’s artifact back?"
"But...who is he?"
"Why does he have the Divine’s artifact? Why doesn’t the priest have it?"
The priest looked at the crowd, as if he had expected their reactions, he did not even try to hide anything and announced loudly.
"The Child of Light has finally appeared!"
For a moment, a suffocating silence covered the entire crowd, as if they could not easily understand those words.
An old woman fell to her knees.
A man beside her was still standing and only stared.
Someone cried.
Several people brought their hands together in front of their chests.
Some did not move at all.
And some clearly did not believe it.
An old man sitting on a box beside the dock leaned forward, narrowed his eyes, and then said in a voice that was quiet to himself but reached Kain.
"That kid? Impossible!"
The corner of Lian’s mouth rose slightly, he had expected that not everyone would immediately believe it.
But the priest ignored everyone and turned toward the guards.
"Open the way."
The respect in the guards’ behavior toward Kain was now obvious, but fear and confusion were also mixed with it.
A huge piece of news had entered the port, and the people still did not know what they should do with it, had their savior really appeared?
They had not even entered the main part of the city when Kain stopped, on the left side of the port, there was a relatively open square between the coastal warehouses.
His eyes moved toward Lian.
"At least now there is no ship to put a hole in."
Lian knew what he meant, and he also no longer intended to wait.
It was time to summon One.
