I Can Devour Monsters' SSS Talents

Chapter 441: The Battle for the Seals V

  • Next Chapter

Lian’s eyes narrowed for a moment, with his Speed locked, escaping from the area was almost impossible.

So he did not run.

The best defense is offense.

"One, left leg."

The ant attacked and its jaws closed around the Guardian’s leg, the ape pulled him with great strength, but One did not let go.

Frost Dominion.

The creature’s right leg was frozen up to the knee, the Guardian growled....the ice was starting to crack and they did not have much time.

One second ... maybe less, but Lian had been ready for this one second.

Thunder Calamity.

Lightning spread from his chest to the arms and legs of the World-Devourer Bastion.

Iron Fortress Charge.

Giant’s Momentum.

The true mass of the Ancient armor gathered behind his movement, the first step broke the ground and the second step sent stones flying into the air.

The third step ... BOOOOOOOOOOOM! Lian crashed into the Guardian like a cannonball.

He did not chase after its speed or try to become faster than it, such a thing was impossible in his current state and he only used all his mass and strength to force the speed out of the path.

His armored shoulder hit the ape’s chest directly and the sound of something breaking under the Guardian’s golden armor spread through the area.

Its three-meter body left the ground and the huge staff lost its path and landed beside them.

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

Half of the battlefield exploded and One immediately released the leg and moved away, the ape was still in the air when Lian extended his right hand.

Cataclysm Pulse.

His palm landed directly on the Guardian’s cracked chest.

"Time to finish this."

BOOOOOOM!

An explosion happened from point-blank range and the Guardian’s golden armor exploded from the middle, its body was thrown several dozen meters and crashed into the stone pillar at the end of the battlefield.

The pillar broke and the ape fell among the stones ....it did not move for two seconds and then its finger moved.

"Still?" Lian let out a heavy breath.

It was true that this thing was not a real Unholy, but it was still a simulation of one and that was enough to make it different from any other monster.

The ape tried to stand up.

The young Vorhelm did not wait this time, if he gave it even the smallest chance to recover, he might get into trouble again.

Thunder Step.

He threw himself forward and his right fist was covered with Thunder Calamity.

Crack!

His fist went into the monster’s chest and lightning came out from every crack in the Guardian’s body.

Finally ...its white eyes went dark and its body slowly fell onto its knees.

[Speed Seal Guardian defeated.]

[Test completed.]

[Completion Time: 07:41.]

He stood there for a few moments.

Seven minutes and forty-one seconds.

His smile returned, this had been good training against an Unholy, but unfortunately it was not a real Unholy ...he was interested to know if he could defeat one of them now?

When fighting a real Unholy, there would be many unknown factors and predicting it would not be easy, they had the ability to think and that was the biggest unknown factor.

The blue seal separated from the center of the battlefield and landed in his hand.

[Speed Seal obtained.]

He looked at One, it had not received any serious new injuries, but the pressure of the battle and having its Speed locked had tired its body.

"Good job, thank you for your help, go back and rest." He placed his hand on its large head for a moment.

The giant ant sent a warm feeling of satisfaction through the link and its body turned into particles of light.

[One has returned to the Colony House.]

Outside the battlefield, Darren was still smiling.

For the first three minutes, he was almost certain.

Even at the fourth minute, nothing had changed ...but at five minutes, his smile became smaller ...six minutes and one of his men kept looking at the timer.

And then it reached seven minutes....

"Why hasn’t he lost yet?" one of the students asked with a frown.

No one answered, they were also shocked, they had not expected him to last this long.

07:30.

Darren was no longer smiling.

07:40.

The silver mist around the battlefield shook.

07:41.

The wall opened and at the same time a noticeable silence covered the area.

Lian walked out of the mist, his movement was calm and he did not look like someone who had just escaped from a deadly battle in a hurry, but more like someone who had finished his job.

But what made everyone’s eyes stop immediately was his left hand.

The blue seal ...the Speed Seal ...was in his hand ...?

No one laughed, no one even spoke, they were so shocked that their minds could not understand how they should react.

Darren stared at the seal for several seconds, the color slowly left his face.

No.

This was impossible.

23.

Level 23!.

He alone ....had defeated the Royal Seal Guardian in seven minutes ...? Had he finally become so stressed from life that he was hallucinating?

Lian stopped in front of them and looked at the timer, then at him.

"Seven minutes and forty-one seconds, I think I still have two minutes and nineteen seconds left."

His lips opened slightly but no sound came out, he did not know what to say...what could he say?

Lian walked past him.

"Where are you going?!" Darren suddenly came back to his senses and shouted louder than he had intended.

"I have to go for the other Seals." The young Vorhelm did not even stop.

Darren was stunned for a moment, but this was good, maybe this guy really did not care about their bet? Maybe he really did not need to worry about social death?

But he was being too optimistic ...

Lian suddenly turned his head toward him and a calm smile appeared on his face.

"Don’t worry about the bet, I’ll come back later, until then practice getting on all fours, your barking also needs to be acceptable, I don’t want to make you do it again."

Several people from Rodrick’s group lowered their eyes, one of them barely held back his laughter but there was nothing funny about this for Darren.

This was not just losing a bet, he had been humiliated in front of more than twenty people from his own faction.

And if this story spread outside the test...

No!

When it spread, he would be finished!

"Rodrick won’t let this go unanswered!" he shouted with a red face.

"Good, I’m looking forward to seeing him." But the young Vorhelm answered without turning back.

Lightning wrapped around his legs and boom! He disappeared.

Darren stood there, for the first time, threatening someone with Rodrick’s name had no effect.

Worse than that, Lian had not even stopped to hear it.

After leaving the area of the Speed Seal battlefield, his locked stat was free again.

[Speed: 700]

The difference was so great that his first use of Thunder Step again almost felt like flying, he could really feel the importance of Speed now.

He crossed one of the newly built bridges and checked the condition of the Seals at the same time.

[Speed Seal — Captured.]

[Strength Seal — In Contest.]

[Mana Seal — In Contest.]

[Resistance Seal — In Contest.]

[Spirit Seal — In Contest.]

His eyes moved toward two distant pillars, before separating, he had seen the paths of Rodrick’s three groups, the main group had gone toward the Strength Seal, Rodrick himself was there.

The second group had been led by Elena toward the Mana Seal and both battles had already started and the walls of the battle areas had already formed.

Entering them was impossible until the challenge ended and they had a good chance of winning, so there was no need to waste time.

So only one Seal remained.

Spirit Seal.

When he reached the island of the Spirit Seal, the battle was still going on.

About ten students were standing outside the silver wall and looking anxiously at the thick mist in front of them.

It was probably another group of friends or members of the same faction who were inside.

Lian had just gotten close when the wall suddenly shook.

Boom!

White light exploded from inside it and the first student was pushed out as particles of light.

Then the second.

The third.

The fourth.

In less than ten seconds, eight people were thrown out of the test one after another.

[Challenge failed.]

[Spirit Seal Guardian resetting.]

The expressions of the people outside changed and one of them immediately raised his hand when he saw the young Vorhelm.

"Wait! That thing isn’t normal, even when—"

"I know." Lian walked past him.

"No, you don’t understand! When your Spirit is locked, its illusions—"

The wall closed behind him and the student’s voice was cut off, he did not even have time to finish his warning.

The Spirit Seal battlefield was almost completely silent unlike the Speed Seal battlefield, the black and smooth ground stretched under his feet like a huge mirror.

There was no wind and no sound, and in the center of the battlefield, a humanoid creature was sitting cross-legged on the ground.

It was about two meters tall.

A torn white and black robe covered its body and a cracked mask without eyes covered its face.

Six metal rings floated in the air behind its head and a long staff rested across its knees.

[Royal Trial has begun.]

[Spirit Seal.]

[Related Stat: Spirit.]

[Spirit will be completely sealed.]

Lian let out a short breath.

[Spirit: 600 → Locked.]

The change was much more unpleasant this time, it was as if a layer of clarity had been removed from everything.

The Mana flows that he could normally sense easily became unclear, even his fine control over ice felt heavier for a moment.

Lian activated True Sequence.

Information came, but it was broken and incomplete, parts of the paths disappeared and some starting and ending points could not be recognized.

"Looks like losing this one isn’t fun either." Lian muttered, but he had already expected it, Spirit could be very important.

The creature in front of him slowly raised its head.

[Royal Seal Guardian.]

[Mirror-Soul Ascetic.]

[Rank: Unholy.]

[Level: 20 (Pre-Evolution).]

The Rank and Level of this one were exactly the same as before and there was nothing to explain or check again.

One of the six rings behind its head began to spin.

Click.

A very weak sound echoed, but in the next moment the entire battlefield was filled with it.

Ten Ascetics.

Twenty.

Fifty.

One hundred.

They were all completely identical, perfect copies that were the same as the original in even the smallest details.

[Hundred Echo Bodies.]

Lian looked around him, none of them looked different from the others.

"One, I need your help again."

Light formed beside him and the giant ant appeared again.

[Spirit: Locked.]

The connection between them remained, but its usual clarity had decreased.

The young Vorhelm could no longer receive every sensory detail from One as accurately as before.

It did not matter.

The Ascetics moved at the same time and he lowered his hand.

Frost Dominion.

Cold spread across the entire battlefield, but this time his control was not as precise as before and the ice formed thicker in some places and thinner in others.

However, it was enough for his purpose, hundreds of feet moved across the battlefield but only a few of them cracked the ice.

"Illusions." Lian ignored the paths of the bodies that had no physical effect.

One also detected one of the real bodies and rushed toward it, but just before the collision, one of the rings behind the main Ascetic in the distance spun.

Ding.

[Soul Bell.]

The sound was almost quiet but it felt like his brain had been hit from the inside for a moment.

The world spun!

Up became down!

Right looked like left for a fraction of a second.

Lian took one wrong step and at that exact moment a palm appeared from empty space beside his side.

[Empty Palm.]

BOOOOOOM!
