I Break through Crazily

Chapter 235 - 234: The Strange People of the West District

"I’m sure. I want to change my bet to the North District. Betting on the Lower East District was a mistake on my part, a lapse in judgment. I should have bet on the North District. I feel their candidates have a better chance of winning."

Murong Liu glanced at Fang Qingyang in the distance, then turned back to Special Envoy Gong and lied without batting an eye.

"Very well. I’ll change it to the North District for you, but this is the only time. It won’t happen again."

Since Murong Liu insisted, Gong Liansheng couldn’t argue. He just waved his hand, sending a streak of light toward the White Paper floating in midair.

The next moment, the red circle marking Murong Liu’s name in the East District section of the White Paper vanished. Then, a new red circle with his name appeared in the North District section.

And with that, the change of bet was complete.

"Thank you, Special Envoy Gong."

Seeing his bet successfully changed, Murong Liu offered his thanks, clasped his hands in a brief salute, and retreated.

Walking back to Fang Qingyang’s side, Murong Liu whispered, "Old friend, you better not be screwing me over this time!"

"Hey, don’t go blaming me. This was your decision and your business. Whether you win or lose has nothing to do with me," Fang Qingyang said, quickly distancing himself from the matter.

Fang Qingyang hadn’t expected Murong Liu to shamelessly go and change his bet just because of him. He was moved, but also curious. He gave Murong Liu a sideways glance, not understanding why he’d done it.

"Fine."

Seeing Fang Qingyang stubbornly refusing to take any responsibility or say anything more, Murong Liu could only shrug helplessly. He hoped he hadn’t made a mistake and that the North District candidates would deliver a favorable result.

’Sigh, it looks like Dui Palace is really going downhill. The Elder is like this, and so is the Hall Master. No wonder Dui Palace has been declining day by day.’

’Hey, don’t be so harsh. Dui Palace’s strength is still decent. It’s just their judgment that’s lacking.’

’It’s not just their judgment, is it? There’s something wrong with their heads, too.’

’True. If their heads were on straight, they wouldn’t have run Dui Palace into the ground, nor would they be betting on a district with absolutely no hope of winning.’

"..."

The other Hall Masters and Elders scoffed when they saw Murong Liu change his bet, their disdain for Dui Palace growing.

Hearing the ridicule and mockery, the members of Dui Palace felt disgraced and could only sigh in frustration.

However, this was a personal decision made by Murong Liu and Fang Qingyang. No matter how displeased the other members of Dui Palace were, they had no grounds to object.

Once everyone had placed their bets, Gong Liansheng announced, "Alright, the first round of betting is complete. If there are no other changes, then the wagers are set."

As he spoke, Gong Liansheng scanned the crowd. Seeing no objections, he made a beckoning gesture, and the White Paper floating in midair flew back into his hand.

With another slight flick of his wrist, the magical, bet-covered White Paper was put away, vanishing before their eyes.

From this moment on, no more bets could be placed or changed.

After stowing the White Paper, Gong Liansheng added, "The second round of betting will be held on the third day of the House Entrance Examination. For now, please turn your attention back to the examination..."

At his words, everyone turned their gazes back to the Light Curtain in the sky.

The Light Curtain no longer showed Tang Yi, but was now focused on other candidates...

...

"You... you Demon! Why are you hunting us! Our common enemy should be the candidates from the North District!"

"Everyone, run!"

"Aaaah!"

"Something’s seriously wrong with this guy! Why isn’t he doing the tasks? Why is he hell-bent on hunting us down?"

"AHHH! I don’t want to die! Don’t kill me!"

Somewhere in the Little Extreme Sacred Land, a West District candidate with a large mole on his neck was ruthlessly hunting five or six candidates from the South District, forcing them to flee for their lives in terror.

They were all candidates from the same examination, the best of the best from their respective districts.

Yet even if they banded together, the South District candidates were no match for the man with the mole. All they could do was run in disarray as he pursued them.

The fleeing South District candidates were terrified. They had originally gathered a group of more than ten of their own after entering the Little Extreme Sacred Land. But after encountering this West District candidate, half of their number had been slain. People were dying before they even had time to crush their Help Stones.

The West District candidate with the mole was like a Demon. His methods were vicious. He didn’t waste words; he just attacked and killed. It was utterly terrifying.

Getting caught by him was a death sentence.

The South District candidates were chased to the point of despair. They wanted nothing more than to give up on the House Entrance Examination and crush their Help Stones to escape, but they couldn’t.

His Speed was simply too great. In the time it took to take out a Help Stone and crush it, he could kill them a dozen times over!

They couldn’t escape, nor could they use the very item meant to save their lives. The South District candidates were utterly desperate.

"Heh. Blame it on your bad luck for participating in this year’s House Entrance Examination."

The West District candidate with the mole sneered. In a single dash, he closed the distance on the fleeing candidates. He ignored their desperate screams as his Great Saber danced through the air. SWISH, SWISH, SWISH! A few quick flashes, and several heads rolled across the ground.

Several of the South District candidates managed to get their hands on their Help Stones, but none of them could crush them in time.

The West District candidate with the mole looked completely at ease after killing them, as if it had taken no effort at all.

The two sides were not even in the same league.

This was a complete slaughter.

"Hmph. What a bunch of useless gluttons the West Mansion has attracted."

After killing the South District candidates, the man with the large mole snorted in contempt and turned to leave.

But just then, WHOOSH! A figure dashed over.

"Who’s there?"

The candidate with the large mole raised his Great Saber and barked out the question.

Just then, a person dressed in the same West District candidate attire appeared before him and said respectfully, "Captain Hex, it’s me."

"Oh, it’s you, Xiaofu. What’s the situation?" Seeing the familiar West District candidate, the man with the mole on his neck relaxed.

This West District candidate with the large mole on his neck was named Hex Anmin. He was the leader of the group that had conspired with Quan Xinyuan, the Palace Master of Qian Palace.

The West District disciple before him, Xiaofu, was also a member of this group. He was responsible for communications and reconnaissance. In fact, Xiaofu had been nearby the entire time Hex Anmin was killing the South District candidates. Had Xiaofu not revealed himself, Hex Anmin wouldn’t have even noticed his presence, a testament to Xiaofu’s outstanding Concealment Ability.

Of course, besides his Concealment Ability, Xiaofu’s own strength had to be considerable to have been assigned to this mission.
