I Begged His Brother to Get Me Pregnant
Chapter 95: Don’t Tell Me You and Eve...
Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Don’t Tell Me You and Eve...
And what her younger son said just made her even more desperate to know!
From the sounds of it, this was something serious.
Otherwise, why would both brothers be so evasive about it?
"I—"
The words were on the tip of Ryan Sterling’s tongue, but he suddenly remembered his promise to Evelyn Grant not to be the one to bring this matter before their elders.
He could only swallow his words.
"You should ask my brother instead. He can tell you."
Ryan Sterling could understand Evelyn Grant’s intentions.
After all, if Florence Morgan found out about this, she would almost certainly confront Evelyn Grant’s mother. If that happened, the situation would become much harder to control.
If anything happened to her mother because of it, no one could bear that responsibility.
"If he were willing to tell me, would I need to ask you?" Florence Morgan’s tone turned serious. "Spit it out. What exactly happened!"
"It’s nothing."
"Ryan Sterling! Don’t think that just because you’ve spent all these years abroad, I can’t control you anymore! I gave birth to you. No matter how successful or powerful you become, I am still your mother!"
Ryan pressed his fingers to his forehead. "What does that have to do with my brother’s situation? And I never said you weren’t my mom."
"Then tell me right now." Florence Morgan paused, then said suddenly, "It couldn’t be about you and Eve..."
He immediately pressed his lips together.
He remained silent.
The next second, he heard Florence Morgan continue, "You and Eve are close. Your brother must have misunderstood something about you helping her find evidence, right?"
"..."
"Your older brother doesn’t think there’s something going on between you and Eve, does he?"
For a moment, Ryan Sterling didn’t know whether to breathe a sigh of relief or feel something else entirely.
"If that’s the case, you need to explain it to him! There’s no reason for you two to be upset over something like this," Florence Morgan said with resignation. "You know how good your brother has been to you, how much he cares about you! Even during all those years you were abroad, he was always talking about you! Your brother is just in a terrible mood because of the divorce right now, so don’t you add to his troubles."
"Mom! Let me say it again. My brother is the one who initiated this divorce from Evelyn Grant! Whether he insists on it or regrets it now, this is the path he chose for himself! How has this become my fault for adding to his troubles?"
He hated hearing his mother say things like that.
’We’re all adults here. Once you make a choice, you shouldn’t have any regrets!’
’If he’d known it would come to this, he shouldn’t have been so ruthless at the start!’
’Hadn’t he warned his brother?’
’Who was it that said with such unwavering certainty that Evelyn Grant was the murderer!’
’But now that he knows he was wrong, he won’t admit what he did.’
’He’s making excuses, trying to cover for himself, and even has the nerve to play the victim!’
’If I hadn’t rushed back to the country and found the evidence using unconventional means, what chance to regret would Julian Sterling even have right now?’
’Evelyn Grant would have been sentenced to death and just waiting for her execution.’
"People can’t be right all the time! Have you never made a mistake?"
"The problem is, Evelyn Grant doesn’t want to be with him anymore. This mistake is irreparable."
Florence Morgan tsked. "What do you know? You weren’t here, so you have no idea how much Eve loves your brother! She’s just angry and can’t forgive him yet. Give her some time to think things through, and she’ll come around!"
