I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?
Chapter 743: The Royal Family is a Paragon, We Must Emulate Them
Ye Qianning merely shot them a cold glance and paid them no mind. They could call her heartless or inhuman for all she cared.
If people refused to listen to reason, they would have to learn the hard way. Fate would decide if they lived or died.
"Someone, bring me the City Lord!" Old Prince Feng roared.
"Yes."
"Prince..."
"You, shut your mouth! I will not spare the Huo family," Old Prince Feng snarled.
"Prince, the Huo family accepts its punishment. But if you don’t arrest Ye Qianning now, she’ll be much harder to catch once she escapes." Huo Tu was still trying to drag someone else down with him, even as he faced his own doom.
Only then did Old Prince Feng remember the recent events.
"Arrest her."
"Yes."
The guards moved forward.
Luo Feng sent one of them flying with a kick, striking first.
"So! You dare to openly defy Old Prince Feng! Kill him! Kill him!"
Before Old Prince Feng could even speak, Huo Tu had already started yelling.
The first floor of the Immortal Sea Building was crowded with diners, and the commotion had long since drawn their attention to the landing. When the fight broke out, the timid patrons fled for the door while the bolder ones found a place to hide and watch.
Seeing the situation spiraling out of control, Huo Feng deliberated for a moment before deciding to go up and help Ye Qianning.
"Brother, what do you think you’re doing?" Huo Liran pulled him back.
"Miss Ye saved our lives."
"What savior? We would have made it ashore without her! Brother, don’t be a fool. She’s the person Old Prince Feng wants to arrest."
Huo Feng froze. He turned his head, his eyes tinged with red. He gritted his teeth, full of resentment, but stopped in his tracks.
’The Huo family can’t afford to offend the Phoenix Royal Mansion.’
THUD!
UGH!
CRASH!
The sounds of fighting, agonized screams, and splintering chairs filled the air.
In the blink of an eye, Old Prince Feng’s four guards were dead. It had happened incredibly fast, the entire process taking no more than two minutes.
Huo Tu’s eyes widened in shock. ’They actually killed the Prince’s guards, right out in the open! How dare they?’
"Prince, get to safety!" the steward cried out in alarm.
"Rebellion! This is rebellion! To act so brazenly here in my Nanyuan! I will have you all turned into human stumps and paraded through the streets—" Before Old Prince Feng could finish, a sharp blade was pressed to his neck.
OOF!
The steward had been kicked aside, and it was Luo Feng’s longsword now resting against the Prince’s throat.
The members of the Huo family were terrified. Huo Tu shifted his feet, the thought of escape just beginning to form, when members of the Xianyue Sect burst in through the door and surrounded the entire group.
Seeing this, Huo Liran clutched Huo Feng’s arm.
"You dare... you actually dare to raise a hand against me..." Old Prince Feng’s face was flushed red with rage, his old features contorted.
"Old Prince, you were the one who made the first move. If you can’t win, you have no one to blame but yourself." A wide smile played on Ye Qianning’s lips.
Old Prince Feng stared at her. "You... You..."
"Now, now, Old Prince, don’t be angry. I know what you’re going to say. Even if you are a Prince of Nanyuan, you still have to be reasonable, don’t you?" Ye Qianning said with a smile.
"I am a Prince of the ruling dynasty!"
"So the Prince doesn’t play by the rules. Fine. If the Prince won’t be reasonable, then neither will we. The royal family is supposed to set an example. We commoners can’t be wrong for following it, can we?"
’If we’re being reasonable, you’re in the wrong. If we’re not being reasonable, well, that makes things even easier.’
Old Prince Feng was livid. "You dare hold me hostage! When the City Lord gets here, he will not spare you!"
"No, no, no. How could you call this being held hostage? This is simply you losing a fight. Of course, if you want to leave now, we won’t stop you." Ye Qianning waved her hand dismissively. "Luo Feng, stand aside and let the Old Prince go. We wouldn’t dare bear the crime of holding him hostage."
With a flick of his wrist, Luo Feng sheathed his longsword.
