I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?
Chapter 741: An Inescapable Show
"Have everyone..."
"Hahaha, I hear the Huo family even acquired a merchant ship from Beili. It seems Beili highly values your family’s seafood distribution channels."
Before Ye Qianning could finish, a voice drifted down from the second floor, followed by a group of richly dressed people descending the stairs.
"You flatter us. The Huo family merely owns a small port," Huo Tu said with a chuckle.
"What price is Beili offering?" Old Prince Feng inquired.
"The price is thirty copper coins per jin. If the quality is excellent, it can go as high as forty copper coins per jin."
Old Prince Feng was very surprised to hear this. "Forty copper coins per jin? Such a high price?"
"Indeed. Right now, Nanyuan’s seafood commands a high price everywhere across the four nations—except in Nanyuan itself. The Gu family must be making a fortune." Huo Tu didn’t miss the chance to badmouth the Gu family.
Old Prince Feng knew the price of seafood in various regions, but an acquisition price of forty copper coins still surprised him.
For nearly ten years, Gu Shuo had only paid eight copper coins. With the price having multiplied so many times over, the Gu family had certainly earned a great deal of money. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have had the funds to build so many ports and roads.
"Your Highness, Nanyuan’s seafood is not what it used to be. The selling price can multiply several times over when shipped out," Huo Tu continued with his flattery.
Old Prince Feng knew this full well. "It seems the Huo family has a keen mind for business. This Prince has several ports under my command. After the Four Nations Summit, I will hand them over to the Huo family to manage."
Huo Tu was overjoyed. "Thank you, Your Highness."
As the group came downstairs, Huo Tu looked up with a smile and immediately spotted Ye Qianning standing at the foot of the staircase. He instantly felt a searing pain in his throat.
Ye Qianning’s calm gaze was fixed on Old Prince Feng at the front of the group. He looked to be in his seventies, with white hair at his temples, a slightly plump figure, a wrinkled face, and sunken eyes. ’Judging by his face,’ she thought, ’he’s a ruthless one.’
Old Prince Feng noticed Ye Qianning’s stare and lifted his eyelids to look at her.
"You have some nerve, staring directly at Old Prince Feng!" Huo Tu stepped forward, his hoarse voice unable to hide his ferocity.
"If you don’t want to be looked at, you should’ve stayed cooped up at home for the rest of your life," Ye Qianning said coolly.
"Why you little... Ye Qianning, how dare you be so rude to the Old Prince! Believe me when I say I’ll gouge your eyes out!" With the Old Prince behind him, Huo Tu wasn’t afraid in the slightest.
Huo Feng stepped forward from the side. "Second Uncle."
"Huo Tu, who is this?" Old Prince Feng asked, having reached the bottom of the stairs.
Huo Tu turned around. "Your Highness, the injuries my niece and I sustained are all thanks to her father."
"Your Highness, this woman is vicious. She tried to harm our Huo family at sea! If it weren’t for her, it wouldn’t have taken us over a month to make it ashore," Huo Liran added, seizing the opportunity to lodge a complaint.
"So vicious at such a young age. Men, seize her." Old Prince Feng’s tone was as casual as if he were ordering someone to catch a kitten or a puppy.
"Yes, sir."
The guards in the back stepped forward.
Ye Qianning’s lips curved into a smile. ’Looks like Luo Feng’s efforts weren’t in vain.’
Huo Liran was gloating internally. ’I’ll make her pay back the injuries I suffered, several times over.’
Luo Feng immediately drew his sword and stood in front of Ye Qianning. "Who dares touch my lady?"
The guards recognized this man and dared not act rashly. They turned to look at their Prince.
Old Prince Feng immediately recognized the man as being from the Xianyue Sect, the city’s protectors. ’His lady?’
’Is this woman the daughter of the Xianyue Sect’s Sect Leader?’
The Xianyue Sect did not belong to any of the four nations, but it was famous and wielded considerable influence.
’For years, all four nations have tried to win them over, but the Xianyue Sect has remained unmoved. If she really is the young lady of the Xianyue Sect, I’ll have to reconsider.’
"Old Prince, please calm your anger. Miss Ye did not try to harm the Huo family. In fact, it was thanks to Miss Ye’s guidance that our family was able to find our way back at sea." Huo Feng bowed to the Old Prince.
