I Became the Eye Candy: Four Bigshots Claimed to be My Dad?
Chapter 738: Who Has Greater Authority Than a Prince?
After listening, Old Prince Feng looked at Qin Fuwei again. "Can you truly make the decision?"
"Of course, Old Prince," Qin Fuwei said, her posture confident and her tone steady. "Are you looking to book the entire Immortal Sea Building?"
"That’s right. Can you make the decision?"
"Which day does the Prince wish to book? I’ll go and arrange it for you at once." ’As long as they’re just booking the restaurant and not causing trouble, this will be easy.’
"The twelfth of the sixth month. It is my birthday."
"Very well," Qin Fuwei replied crisply.
Old Prince Feng and Huo Tu were both taken aback. She had agreed without the slightest hesitation. ’Could she really be the rumored owner of the Immortal Sea Building?’
"On the twelfth of the sixth month, the Immortal Sea Building will be cleared for the Prince," Qin Fuwei added.
Old Prince Feng had been skeptical, but seeing her confident and composed demeanor, his doubts were dispelled.
"Excellent. The young mistress is indeed decisive. Feng De, pay her."
The steward immediately took a thick stack of gold bank notes from his robes and handed them to Qin Fuwei.
Qin Fuwei accepted them calmly. "Rest assured, Prince. I will go and make the arrangements at once."
"Excellent. After my birthday celebration, I will personally host a banquet for the young mistress," Old Prince Feng said, greatly pleased.
"You are too kind, Prince."
Qin Fuwei curtsied and exited the room.
"Prince, the City Lord has arrived," a guard reported, entering the room.
"It’s no longer necessary. Tell him to go back," Old Prince Feng said, standing up and waving his hand dismissively.
"Yes."
"Huo Tu, you have done me a great service this time. I will be sure to reward you handsomely."
"You praise me too highly, Prince."
After leaving the private room, Qin Fuwei turned down the corridor and finally took a deep breath. Her hands trembled as she looked at the gold bank notes. ’So much money... She had never seen so much money in her entire life.’
’If the Shopkeeper knew she’d closed such a huge deal, he would surely see her in a new light. Uncle Gu would be impressed, too!’
"Money is a wonderful thing."
Ye Qianning remarked coolly, leaning against the entrance to the corridor.
Startled by the voice, Qin Fuwei immediately hid the notes behind her back. She looked at the speaker. "It’s you."
"Do you have any idea what day the twelfth of the sixth month is?"
"Whatever day it is, what’s it to me?" Qin Fuwei shot back with a glare.
"Now that you’ve taken the money, it *is* your business. If you want to live out the rest of your days in peace, you’ll return it."
"And why should I?"
"Someone has already booked the twelfth of the sixth month."
"Who could possibly have more authority than a Prince? At worst, I’ll just have to refund the other party’s money. If I make sure the Old Prince’s birthday banquet is a success, don’t you think the reward will be generous?" Qin Fuwei said, smug and arrogant.
Ye Qianning frowned. "Return the money."
Qin Fuwei’s eyes darted, her tone turning nasty. "I will not. What right does a dark, ugly little brat like you have to speak to me that way?"
"Suit yourself," Ye Qianning said, deciding not to waste any more words.
’She had only warned her for Du Yi’s sake.’
’But if the girl was going to be a fool, she’d have to bear the consequences.’
"Hmph. How ridiculous. What’s her deal?"
Cursing under her breath, Qin Fuwei tucked the gold bank notes away and went to find the Shopkeeper.
The Shopkeeper had just been slapped by one of Old Prince Feng’s men. He had just applied some ointment and was walking out when he ran right into Qin Fuwei.
"Miss Qin! What’s the happy occasion? You look thrilled."
"Shopkeeper, what happened to your face?" Qin Fuwei asked, noticing his injury.
The Shopkeeper touched his face, prodding the inside of his cheek with his tongue before sighing. "Don’t ask. I ran into a bunch of walking disasters. Were you looking for me, Miss Qin?"
"I was," Qin Fuwei said with a nod, handing the stack of gold bank notes to the Shopkeeper.
The Shopkeeper’s eyes went wide at the sight, and his face broke into a huge grin. "Whoa, Miss Qin, that’s a lot of money! I heard your cousin was in town. Is this from him?"
