Chapter 1308 - 1307: Threatening Others with One’s Own Life
Chapter 1308: Chapter 1307: Threatening Others with One’s Own Life
The man was probably in his thirties. No matter how much his mother made his heart ache on ordinary days, he wouldn’t stand for her being bullied in public. He angrily lifted his head and looked over. First, he saw four children with frightened expressions, then he noticed a man, two women, and another child, with one woman older and the other younger. It was obviously a family gathering.
These two tables of people didn’t look like the ones who would bully his mother.
The man hesitated, and his anger subsided a bit. He turned to ask, "Mom, who bullied you? What exactly happened?"
The middle-aged woman raised her hand and pointed at the four frightened youths, saying, "It was them, go and beat them up for me!"
She was furious; if she couldn’t get this out of her system, she felt she would suffocate!
The man opened his mouth, glanced at the four youths, and then frowned, realizing that things might not be as he thought.
"Mom, tell me what happened." The man helped the middle-aged woman up, saw the chair fallen to the side, and then looked at his mother, who couldn’t even stand steadily. His fury started to rise again.
"Don’t ask, can’t you see your mother is being bullied? Go beat them up first!" The middle-aged woman felt invincible with her son backing her up.
The man wouldn’t act without reason. Even if his mother was like this, he felt helpless. If she didn’t explain clearly, and he went up to beat someone, would the children’s parents be willing? Besides, those four youths didn’t look like they could bully her!
The middle-aged woman, seeing her son not taking action, angrily slapped his shoulder several times, cursing as if raising him was for nothing. Onlookers could only think that this woman was unreasonable and that her daughter-in-law probably did not have a good life.
The middle-aged woman had long lost control of her emotions. Whether there was anyone around or not, she couldn’t care less. All she thought about was that she had been bullied and should retaliate. Whether the others were children was not within her consideration.
Finally, the Manager, who had been observing from within the crowd, came forward. He stood in front of the family and politely asked, "Is this lady alright?"
The man saw his name badge and knew he was the Manager here, so he said, "Are you the Manager here? Your restaurant’s chair hit my mother’s foot!"
The Manager politely smiled and said, "Sorry, but the chairs in my restaurant are ordinary. They wouldn’t hit your mother’s foot on their own."
The man’s face fell, "What’s the matter with the way you talk?"
The Manager remained composed, "Just stating the facts."
The man grit his teeth in anger, glaring at the Manager but unable to retort. He wanted to preemptively hold the upper hand, not expecting the Manager to respond so quickly.
"Look! Can’t you see? My foot is bleeding! My foot!" The middle-aged woman took off her shoe, revealing her bloodied toe, which looked like her nail would have to be completely removed.
The man was also anxious upon seeing it, "Mom, what happened, how did it become like this!"
The middle-aged woman pointed at Luo Yirui and the four youths, crying out, "It was them. They took the seats without permission, and when I said something, they didn’t want to hear it. They cursed at me, and it was so nasty! I’m this old and to be cursed by these four little brats, I have no face left to live!" After saying that, she venomously pointed her index finger at the Manager, "I’m telling you, if you don’t give me an explanation for this, I will die right in your restaurant, and I will make sure you can’t keep it open!"
People who have no other means often use their lives to threaten others. She was used to this trick, and it worked every time on her son and daughter-in-law.
