Chapter 1978: Chapter 1061: Clash with the God (Part 2)

A pure black, unadorned robe tightly wraps around His lean and tall figure, as if He has become the center of this world.

His robe is dark and dull, seemingly absorbing all surrounding light, with delicate shadowy patterns lingering in the folds at the corners that cause the space around Him to tremble slightly with each gentle sway.

His face is almost pathologically pale, devoid of any hint of blood, with deep and sharp features, and an endless darkness and calculation hidden in the depths of His eyes, cold and sinister.

Yet, in stark contrast, His lips always carry a faint, gentle smile, and His brow is relaxed, appearing peaceful, like a gentle and refined sage.

In no way does this image evoke the notorious Evil God, who rules over lies, deceit, and conspiracy, feared by countless divine beings and mortals.

Extreme gentleness intertwined with profound danger forms a chilling contrast, silently breaking down people’s defenses and judgment.

Lis looked at Shirek, a subtle gray mist swirling around Shirek like a living entity, slowly flowing and surging without dispersing.

This mist appears thin and hazy, yet carries an inexplicable eerie aura, with twisted rules and illusory images hidden in every wisp, silently eroding all vitality and order around it.

Any space touched by the mist ripples with subtle distortions.

The space that was originally stable became chaotic and weak once more, with a silent spread of danger, enveloping the entire battlefield.

Lis’s expression was serene, quietly observing the renowned Divine Incarnation of the Prince of Lies before him.

He remained unflustered, raising his hand without needing a chant or medium, as pure and magnificent Magic Power burst forth from within.

Layers upon layers of Magic Barriers formed out of thin air, crossing and intertwining seamlessly.

The clear and dazzling Magic Light enveloped Lis in an instant, forming a solid and radiant magic barrier.

The bright magical light vigorously dispelled the dense Darkness surrounding him, breaking through the space dominated by Shirek’s Shadow Power, creating a clear haven within this eerie domain.

In the instant Magic Power surged, Lis distinctly perceived a change.

When he had faced Shirek’s divine strength before, no magic could resist His power, as if sinking into the ocean without a trace.

But now, although the Magic Power flowing through him struggled to counter the surrounding Shadow Power, and the barrier trembled slightly under the gray mist’s erosion, its edges were being worn away, it did not entirely fail anymore.

The Magic’s strength was gradually counteracting Shirek’s Divine Power’s suppression bit by bit.

This subtle change made Lis realize something.

Indeed, Shirek’s Divine Power deriving from his Magic Position was not available unconditionally.

Facing Lis’s vigilance and defense, Shirek remained silent, His gentle smile unwavering, though the darkness in His eyes deepened.

Without any excess probing, the gray mist surrounding Him suddenly expanded.

The increasingly dense and hefty shadow flowed from His slender body, spreading furiously like an ink black flood that engulfed the surroundings.

Shadow passed through, and the World’s light was completely extinguished, the contours of all things dissolved, as if all colors, light, and sounds within creation were devoured.

In just a few breaths, the entire world was completely shrouded in boundless darkness.

Lis’s vision was instantly filled with pure darkness, as the land beneath his feet, the distant sky, and the light at the horizon disappeared without a trace.

Even the towering and majestic Jonas City vanished entirely into this deathly darkness, no longer visible.

All traces outside were completely isolated, as if he had been placed within a dimension independent from the Main World.

Lis quickly understood the situation.

This was a special Half-plane completely constructed from Shadows, a domain instantaneously created by Shirek leveraging His laws of lies and shadows!

This plane perfectly severed all his connections with the outside world, leaving him unable to utilize the Guardian Array of Jonas City, the layered Magic Barrier of Minos Floating City, or any allies’ external assistance.

All auxiliary powers he could rely on were completely blocked, leaving him utterly isolated to face this powerful Evil God Avatar alone.

A regular person, finding themselves isolated in such a predicament, would undoubtedly panic.

But Lis’s mind was increasingly stable and resolute.

Even with the spatial barrier around him blocking most of his senses and making his perception of the external world faint and blurred as if covered in thick mist, he remained able to clearly pinpoint his own Avatar’s position in the outside world.

He could fully wield Space Power, tearing apart the seal of this half-plane to escape.

But he wasn’t in a hurry to flee.

For him, the chance to completely isolate external interference and confront the Divine Incarnation of Shirek alone was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

No need to worry about battlefield repercussions, no distraction in protecting others, no relying on external forces; it was the perfect time for him to purely refine his own Laws and explore the mysteries of the Divine.

Lis collected his thoughts, abandoning all distractions. He stood quietly in the boundless Shadow, waiting for Shirek’s assault.

When this shadow half-plane was fully formed and the isolation was completed, Shirek, who had been standing in the mist, suddenly vanished.

He disappeared into the thick shadow mist like a phantom merging into the darkness, leaving no trace or breath.

In the entire deathly silent half-plane, his figure was no longer visible.

Only endless darkness slowly surged, silently brewing fatal intent to kill.

The next second, the surrounding black shadows suddenly became agitated, countless fine shadow threads intertwined and gathered, carrying extreme ferocity and cold malice, swiftly entangling towards Lis from all directions.

These shadow entities had no physical form; neither flesh and blood nor elemental creations—they were purely false illusions and condensed Rule Power.

They were as light as mist yet seemed to carry a terrifying force directly attacking the soul and spirit.

Lis frowned slightly.

His perception revealed a space around him that was empty, no sign of living creatures approaching or any anticipation of Power fluctuation.

But a crisis warning rang madly in the depths of his heart; the tension on a soul level grew intensely, as if countless deadly dangers lay dormant in the darkness, ready to deliver a fatal blow anytime.

With Shadows continuously gathering and forming, various grotesque beasts slowly emerged from the darkness.

Finer shadows converged into venomous snakes with exposed tusks, mouths agape, spewing pitch-black tongues carrying corrosive venom.

Vast shadows gathered into mighty tigers, surrounded by fierce fury, roaring and pouncing forward...

Besides these, countless bizarre shadow beasts continuously formed, all targeting Lis in the Shadows.

A Magic Shield, already steadfastly formed, quietly enveloped Lis, with the clear Magic Light flowing incessantly, enough to resist external attacks.

Yet, something strange abruptly happened.

These beasts, forged by shadows, were like passing through air, directly and unobstructedly piercing through layers of Magic Barriers.

The sturdy Magic Shield didn’t provide any Block or cushioning effects, not even sparking any Spirit Light fluctuation, it was completely ignored.

Puff!

Silently, countless shadow beasts collided into Lis’s body.

There was no intense collision noise, no dazzling energy countering, yet Lis’s body shuddered abruptly, a low muffled groan escaping his throat.

Intense sharp pain instantly swept through his brain, piercing pain emanating from the depths of his soul, as if countless invisible claws were frantically tearing at his Divine Soul and consciousness.

Meanwhile, on his resilient body, countless claw marks and bite marks of varying depths surfaced instantly.

Grotesque and horrifying wounds, as if just savagely bitten by real beasts, continuously streaming crimson Blood.

How long has it been since he was injured?

Lis felt somewhat wistful.

The Prince of Lies, Shirek, truly lives up to his name. Only a probing attack and he was already badly hurt.

Fortunately, Lis’s body had long undergone numerous Law baptisms and tempering, his flesh’s robustness comparable to Demigod Warriors of the same tier, possessing extremely powerful self-healing ability.

The skin and flesh wounds on his body healed swiftly, visibly to the naked eye, restored in a flash, leaving no scars.
