Chapter 1975: Chapter 1060: The Clash Begins

In Jonas City,

all this happened so quickly. Before Shirek could take any further action, the pure white divine sword had already pierced through its chest.

In that moment, time seemed to freeze.

The [Prince of Lies] looked down at its own chest.

That divine sword pierced through its body, with half an inch of the blade tip protruding from its back.

The Dawn Divine Power flowing through the sword wriggled like a living being, completely nailing the shadow surging inside him in place.

Shirek reached out a hand, fingertips touching the blade, and a scorching pain spread throughout its body.

This is the divine power of the God of Dawn!

Though both possessed powerful divine power, the strengths of the [Prince of Lies] and the [God of Dawn] fundamentally restrained each other, but the incarnation of the God of Dawn here now was much stronger than this incarnation of Shirek.

Naturally, Shirek was thoroughly suppressed.

"Heh..."

Shirek let out a low laugh.

Its voice was hoarse and deep, yet still carried that irritating arrogance.

The pure white Dawn Divine Power continuously spread out from the wound, illuminating Shirek’s shadowy mist-like body like a dense spider web.

The cracks that looked like spider webs extended from the chest to the limbs, head, and even to the tips of each strand of hair.

Wherever it passed, the shadowy mist curled and shattered like paper scorched by fiery fire.

Shirek’s body began to become somewhat transparent, as if it could dissolve into a mass of nothingness at any moment.

But even so, it still stood, eyes fixed intently behind Lis, at the figure slowly emerging.

The tall incarnation of Losanda, the God of Dawn, appeared behind Lis.

The divine incarnation of the God of Dawn seemed to be entirely formed of pure light, with a silhouette both blurred and majestic, resembling the first ray of morning light piercing through the darkness.

It was draped in a pure white robe, with its features hidden within the radiance, indistinguishable.

Only a pair of eyes were clearly visible, eyes devoid of any emotion.

The gaze of the God of Dawn did not carry even a sliver of emotion; it was a near absolute indifference.

Not anger, not disgust, not disdain, not even judgment.

In Losanda’s eyes, Shirek seemed not so much a lifelong nemesis but rather a speck of dust outside of order that needed to be eliminated.

After a moment of staring at that gaze, Shirek suddenly laughed.

"Did not expect you to dare come here directly, not planning to keep an eye on Demogorgon?"

The God of Dawn did not answer, nor did it even flinch an eyebrow.

The long years of confrontation made the God of Dawn well aware that there was nothing worthwhile to be said to Shirek.

Saying any more could present an opportunity for exploitation.

Annoying!

On the side, Lis took a deep breath and turned to salute the God of Dawn.

He placed his right hand on his chest as a gesture of gratitude for the deity’s assistance.

The gaze of the God of Dawn shifted from Shirek to rest slowly upon Lis.

At that moment, Lis felt a peculiar warmth.

It did not come from the body, but from the depths of the soul.

As if a morsel of fatigue within his body was gently soothed at that moment, like morning dew quietly evaporating under the sunrise.

The God of Dawn looked down at Lis, nodding slightly.

Then, the incarnation of the God of Dawn dissipated into thin air like melting morning dew, becoming countless tiny fragments of light, floating within the barrier.

Those points of light fell into the surrounding space, transforming into a force that suppressed the shadows.

However, the divine sword stuck in Shirek’s chest did not disappear with it.

It stood quietly at Shirek’s chest, with the hilt trembling slightly, as if it had a breath of its own.

The pure white Dawn Divine Power continued to flow inexorably from the sword, pressing down on the strength inside Shirek bit by bit.

This process was slow but resolute, as irreversible as a sunrise.

Shirek remained silent for a moment, then placed its hand on the divine sword in its chest.

Its fingers wrapped around the hilt, with faint black light emanating from its fingertips.

It attempted, first lightly shaking, then pulling outward with force.

But no matter what, the blade did not budge, as if it had sunk countless invisible roots within its body.

It tried once more to channel the remaining rule power, attempting to dispel the Dawn Divine Power.

Black mist surged from its body, only to shrink back upon touching the blade, singed by the dawn.

After a while, Shirek ceased its actions.

"Interesting..."

There was a strange calmness in Shirek’s voice.

"It’s the first time Losanda’s longsword has suppressed me like this; I must admit, this feeling is quite intriguing!"

Lis stood a short distance away, watching Shirek with calm eyes.

The arrival of the God of Dawn was, naturally, at his request.

In fact, at least when he realized that Shirek might be scheming something in the dark, Lis had already contacted the Dawn Church.

Lis’ request, of course, was given high priority by the Dawn Church.

If an ordinary person told the Dawn Church they might have discovered the whereabouts of the [Prince of Lies], the Dawn Church might not pay much attention.

But if it was Lis who said this, then the Dawn Church would take it very seriously.

After all, issues regarding the [Prince of Lies] have always been of utmost concern to both the God of Dawn and the Earth Mother God.

Moreover, as a World Tree Favored and Gaia Guardian, Lis is considered by many divines as a key figure in this Abyss Blood Battle.

If the World Tree or Gaia World can recover soon, it would indeed secure a victory in the broader situation.

And although the [Prince of Lies] didn’t appear on the Abyss Battlefield, there’s no doubt it has already joined the side of the Abyss Evil Gods.
