I am the Clone of a Death Row Inmate

Chapter 685 - 378: Encountering Danger (3)

With everything arranged, Su Ze entered seclusion once more.

He had recently plundered a great deal of Origin Genes and hadn’t had time to digest them all. Though he had the golden energy from the Sands of Time, he still needed to be frugal with it.

After all, every bit of the golden energy he used was gone for good. While there was still some left in the Creation Dream Butterfly’s eyeball, the supply wasn’t endless.

Furthermore, he needed to assimilate the last non-god-level skill he possessed: the Thunder God Body.

...

「Half a year flew by in the blink of an eye since Su Ze’s arrival on Zexing.」

He had not yet emerged from his seclusion, but it was nearing its end.

During this seclusion, he had finally managed to forcibly fuse the Thunder God Body into his "Sponge Physique" skill.

The Sponge Physique, already a powerful Tier Seven skill, had been enhanced and was now just a hair’s breadth away from becoming a Tier Eight god-tier skill.

The Sponge Physique skill now had the additional ability to store electrical energy, converting the energy from absorbed attacks and holding it within his body.

Of course, this could also be used as a way to expend excess energy when his body was saturated.

However, Su Ze felt that the Sponge Physique’s various abilities were too disparate and not yet fully integrated.

’Perhaps it needs another fundamental transformation to truly merge this collection of scattered abilities into a cohesive whole.’

Aside from that, the Origin Genes Su Ze had plundered were also almost fully digested.

Just as he was about to finish digesting the last of the Origin Genes and end his seclusion, Die entered his room.

"Master, someone is outside to see you. They say it’s urgent!"

"Oh?" Su Ze’s Spiritual Power swept out, and he found Mr. Ya, Mrs. Yun, Zhou Wenshan, and the others waiting for him outside.

He had to end his seclusion early and went outside. "What happened?"

He saw the anxious looks on their faces.

Zhou Wenshan spoke up. "It’s been almost a month since Lin Hua went out. He hasn’t returned, and we’ve had no word from him. We’re afraid he’s run into some trouble!"

Su Ze’s brow furrowed. He then said reassuringly, "Calm down first. Tell me slowly, what exactly happened?"

It turned out that not long after Su Ze had entered seclusion, Lin Hua had embarked on his first supply run to Thousand Illusion Star. Everything had gone smoothly, and he had returned with many resources that Zexing needed.

Thanks to the supply of resources like the Green Spirit Ability and Evolutionary Liquid, the people of Zexing saw their evolution speed advance by leaps and bounds, and several new legends emerged.

After that, Lin Hua made several more supply runs to Thousand Illusion Star. Each round trip took half a month at most.

Their objective was always clear: arrive at Thousand Illusion Star, procure the supplies, and return immediately. They stuck to a fixed route and didn’t deviate, to avoid any unexpected trouble.

But on their most recent trip, almost a full month had passed, and they still hadn’t returned.

Zhou Wenshan and the others were naturally worried, speculating that they might have met with an accident.

Su Ze pondered for a moment. ’Lin Hua and his two companions have been to Thousand Illusion Star several times; they know the route and the procedures by heart. It’s unlikely they ran into trouble on the star itself. The accident must have happened on the journey there or back.’

’And the most likely danger on that route is an encounter with Star Pirates.’

’However... ’

’They’re flying the Nebula, a Moon God-level spaceship. Your average Star Pirate crew usually flies Star God-level Spaceships; they can’t possibly catch or intercept the Nebula.’

’Unless they ran into an elite Star Pirate crew, one with multiple Moon Gods on board. Only a crew like that would have a Moon God-level Spaceship equipped with things like Tier Eight Ray Cannons and a Star-Catching Net, which could actually pose a threat to the Nebula.’

Su Ze’s gaze swept over the group, and he was surprised to see that Mr. Ya had already completed his seventh evolution and become a Star God.

’It seems the Green Spirit Ability really works.’

He immediately said, "Mr. Ya, Pope, you two will come with me to find Lin Hua and his crew."

"Yes!"

The two acknowledged the order and followed Su Ze aboard the Magic Cube.

The Magic Cube activated its stealth mode and departed from Zexing, heading in the direction of Thousand Illusion Star.

Along the way, Su Ze slowed their speed slightly to scan the surrounding area.

Mr. Ya kept his eyes closed, focusing his entire being on sensing for a signal.

As someone with pilot’s authorization for the Nebula, he would be able to sense its presence as soon as they got close enough.

The Magic Cube flew all the way to the vicinity of Thousand Illusion Star, but Su Ze and his team found nothing.

But just then, Mr. Ya’s eyes snapped open. "I think I sense something," he said, his voice uncertain. "But it’s faint and intermittent. Boss, try moving in a few different directions."

This meant the Nebula was right at the very edge of Mr. Ya’s sensory range.

Hearing this, Su Ze immediately piloted the Magic Cube closer to Thousand Illusion Star.

But Mr. Ya said, "I lost the signal."

Su Ze immediately steered away from Thousand Illusion Star and moved in the opposite direction.

"Got it! That way!"

Mr. Ya pointed in a specific direction.

Su Ze’s brow furrowed. ’That’s in the opposite direction of Zexing,’ he thought. ’If Lin Hua and the others were in danger, they should have been fleeing toward Zexing.’

But now that they had a direction and were within Mr. Ya’s sensory range, finding the Nebula wouldn’t be difficult.

Su Ze immediately put the Magic Cube into a superluminal jump, accelerating at full speed in that direction.

After traveling for some time, Mr. Ya suddenly signaled for Su Ze to slow down and change course. "It’s just up ahead!"

The Magic Cube’s sensor systems scanned the area ahead. Even before they arrived, Su Ze could already see the situation clearly.

In the distance was a desolate star with a harsh, uninhabitable climate.

The Nebula was currently hidden on this planet, buried beneath a vast expanse of yellow sand.

Meanwhile, on several nearby planets not far from this desolate star, people were conducting a wide search. A Moon God-level Spaceship hovered high above them.

’So they were being hunted and hid here...’ Su Ze understood the general situation at a glance.

’First, I need to rescue Lin Hua and his crew.’

Su Ze piloted the invisible Magic Cube, descending toward the desolate star where the Nebula was hidden.
