I Am Not A Goblin Slayer
Chapter 974 - 473: The Electricity Meter Runs Backwards
This also made him wonder if he could do more, given that he possessed an affinity for Natural Magic. For example, using Natural Magic to further enhance his Magic Effects. If someone else’s Magic Effect received a 1.5x enhancement from Natural Magic, could he achieve a 2x or even higher multiplier within a controllable range?
He felt it was feasible.
Lastly, this ability could be combined with [Feast] to directly swallow Natural Magic like a whale, instantly restoring his condition. Combined with his Profession specialty [Three-Phase Source Power] and the first two effects of the [Top-Tier Magic Power Body], this ability was far more than just instantaneous Magic Power restoration; it could practically restore an entire extra life to Gauss in the blink of an eye.
[Three-Phase Source Power] could convert Magic Power into stamina and Life Force at any time, while Magic Power could be used for the Elementalization of his body and the Solidification of Magic Power through the Magic Power Body Talent.
Just like the introductory text for [Top-Tier Magic Power Body]: The body is Magic Power, and Magic Power is the body.
As he grew stronger in the future, he might even go a step further. He could reach a level where he was Magic Power, and Magic Power was him. As long as a single breath remained, he could be reborn from dead wood, regenerating from a mere sliver of Magic Power.
He had to admit, this was a heart-racing future possibility.
Of course, even if this ability could be achieved, the difficulty would likely be immense. It might require him to push multiple Racial Talents to their absolute peak. As for the side effects of the Talent’s effects, Gauss didn’t care too much. Any powerful method inevitably came with some side effects. He couldn’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. As long as he clearly grasped the magnitude of the side effects and kept them in mind, it would be enough.
"For the next Racial Talent extraction, the Monster Atlas requires killing twenty different types of Extraordinary Level Demons.
"The Path of Extraordinary enters the next stage. Subsequent kills of Extraordinary Demons will grant Extraordinary Points, which can be used to advance certain Talents.
"..."
Gauss snapped out of his thoughts. In reality, only a few breaths of time had passed.
There were no visible changes on the surface of his body, but internally, he had undergone yet another baptism and transformation. If acquiring the [Dragon King Descendant] Talent was a hardware modification of his body, then this [Top-Tier Magic Power Body] was an optimization of his system’s software.
Gauss took a deep breath, a relaxed expression naturally surfacing on his face. He could truly feel it. The dazzling natural energy filling this vast world.
It was overwhelming!
He felt as though he were immersed in a vast ocean. Why couldn’t he detect it at all before? It was an objectively existing power. Gauss felt a sudden clarity, like clouds parting to reveal the sun. The entire world seemed so much vaster in his eyes.
The dense energies in nature seemed to sense his "birth," issuing cheerful cheers of affinity. In particular, the natural energy close to his body slowly pressed against him, flowing into his interior through his skin.
Gauss felt a slight warmth within his body. There was indeed a huge difference between Natural Magic and his own Magic Power. Fortunately, that warmth and slight stinging sensation only lasted for a fleeting moment when they first surged in. Before long, those feelings vanished without a trace.
His body and brain adapted very quickly.
"Is this the low-level affinity for Natural Magic described in the Talent effects?" Gauss wondered with slight surprise. This low-level affinity for natural energy was far more enthusiastic than he had imagined. It was hard to imagine just how proactive these natural energies would be if he had a mid-level, or even high-level affinity.
"Not bad..." Gauss muttered, sensing the replenishment of Magic Power within his body.
A portion of the energy was used to replenish the two charges of the Power of Feast from his Feast Talent. This way, he would be able to save quite a few Demon Crystals.
After briefly testing the effects of the [Top-Tier Magic Power Body], he cast his gaze toward the battlefield below. With the retreat of the Extraordinary Demon commanders, the numerous Demon Legions had fallen into a panic. The main legions in the rear had also retreated deeper into the area. Only the cannon fodder at the front lines, who hadn’t had time to retreat, remained. The cavalry that had ridden out of the city were vigorously slaughtering these Demons, who had thrown away their armor and lost all will to fight.
As for Gauss, being an "Extraordinary Strong Person" in the eyes of others, he normally should have put on airs fitting of an expert. There was no need to compete with ordinary people for these easy kills. However, after 0.1 seconds of deep thought, Gauss chose to first deactivate his Dragon King Descendant enhancement, then teleported directly above a relatively dense formation of Demons.
"Fireball Technique!"
A scorching sun rose upon the earth, followed by a second, and a third...
Other powerhouses might have had more considerations—perhaps they were pinned down by their respective opponents, or unwilling to show their hands casually since losing the initiative could easily create ambush opportunities for the enemy, or maybe they needed to hold down key areas and legions. But Gauss didn’t have such constraints.
For someone who had always been dedicated to killing low-level monsters, clearing out these low-level Demons was as routine as eating and drinking. The total kill count on his Monster Atlas was also soaring rapidly.
"76,611"
"76,758"
"76,901"
...
The Fireball Technique was indeed an exceptionally brilliant divine skill for clearing out large numbers of low-level enemies over a wide area. Its area of effect was massive, accompanied by shockwaves and fire damage, and the spreading flames could also burn many surrounding monsters to death.
Its drawbacks were also obvious: it consumed too much personal Magic Power and risked friendly fire.
But for Gauss, he simply had far too much Magic Power right now. Unless it was a short-term, ultra-high saturation magic strike like the one he used to kill the Extraordinary Centaur, it was practically impossible for his Magic Power to reach a state of relative depletion.
