As his massive hand clenched, the Legendary Soul Crystal Stone within was crushed, the power of the soul pouring into this Zor Elf’s body in another form, repairing as well her already-riddled-with-holes flesh. That spine which had been fashioned into harp strings was flooded with the power of the Bottomless Abyss; the cavities of her internal organs shifted and changed, a demonized heart was reforged, and she was endowed with the traits of a Tanari demon.

She was in the midst of dying, and in the midst of being reborn.

Within the surging waves of the abyssal blood pool, Lilanrui Night-Song’s figure began to undergo a drastic transformation. From her back extended segment after segment like a spider’s limbs; the surface of her body gradually became overlaid with demonic hide, dark-violet patterns upon it marking the favor of the Bottomless Abyss. An exceptional soul will ever be granted a different kind of boon.

Then, all at once, everything began to settle. Duncan refined away part of the spider demon traits, infusing more features akin to humanoid creatures. At last, a tall figure nearly two meters in height—a Valahirel (Divine Attendant)—appeared before their eyes. Abyssal demonflame burned within her pupils, the former limbs had evolved into new arms, yet still retained the ability to reshape themselves. A banshee-like shriek spread out in all directions. Nude, she strode slowly forth from the gradually calming abyssal blood pool, and humbly knelt before Duncan.

"Master." Lilanrui Night-Song’s voice was icy, utterly devoid of emotion.

She had once been a Priestess of the Gloomy Maiden, an ascendant dancer who bared herself beneath the moonlight; yet now, returned from death, she was one of the demon matrons under Duncan’s command.

Duncan had invested heavily in her, even preserving the greater part of her memories from her previous life.

At this moment, the demonic incarnation seemed like a shred of the projection of the Dark Titan Sargeras; in Lilanrui Night-Song’s eyes, what she saw was an incomparably colossal Dark Giant.

Duncan gazed down at the infernal Zor Elf kneeling before him. He had preserved most of her humanoid shape, so that, to look upon Lilanrui Night-Song, was to see a taller, more powerful corrupted Zor Elf. Yet the essence of demonhood had already soaked through her soul; never again, in all her life, could she flee the Bottomless Abyss.

Lilanrui Night-Song bowed respectfully. She lifted her hand and drew the two Blood-colored Battle Blades at her side, then vanished directly into the portal not far away.

The boiling abyssal blood pool gradually grew still.

Witch Queen Egger Vulfu watched the figure of this aberrant infernal Zor Elf and said slowly, "Why are you helping the Gloomy Maiden Ilyss Tree?"

Duncan’s answer was blunt: "To give the Spider Queen something to amuse herself with."

Second, Duncan had to ensure that Spider Queen Rose’s ascension was not perfect—under the guise of cooperation, to toss a bit of chaos into the Spider Queen’s path, and, incidentally, to secure enough profit for himself.

Finally, Duncan was to Backstab every hidden hand behind the War of the Spider Queen.
